Being very familiar with wet basement issues, David did not take long in diagnosing the couple’s problem. David explained that their sill plate was slowly rotting away and causing minor leakage. Also, their downspout was channeling too much water at the corner of their foundation. Unfortunately, if these were not fixed in the near future, they would continue to get worse. The couple scheduled for a crew to come the following week.
Foreman Reginald Bradford and his crew installed the Sill Plate Draintile System to fix their rotting sill plate. Then, they installed a LawnScape Outlet that acts as a downspout extension to direct the drainage away from the foundation. The couple was enthused that the job was completed in one day. Today, they are enjoying their leak-free basement with confidence their storage will not be damaged every time it rains.

On July 3rd, 2014, representative, Chris Tite visited Mary’s home to diagnose what was causing her issues. After his assessment, Chris explained to Mary that the foundation soil was exceeding way too much pressure on the outside walls. He suggested that a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System will prevent them from getting worse, as well as help straighten them back to normal. On July 17th, foreman Todd Wells and his crew began the transformation. The anchors were inserted in the soil outside the foundation. There, they are connected to the foundation walls by a steel rod to apply pressure. This procedure helps form them back to its original position. Mary’s home required 50 feet of CleanSpace liner to cover her entire crawl space. The liner will not only prevent the musty smell, but will also help save energy costs.
In just two days, the entire job was complete and Mary could not be happier with the results. She is now more comfortable knowing her home's foundation is safe, clean and warranted.
Larry's basemebt wall was beginning to bow in, causing cracks in the wall and the outside of the home. This is a common problem of settling earth in the active wedge. The active wedge is the dirt that was dug out in order to build the foundation, then used to fill the whole back again. It is called the active wedge because the dirt is continuously moving, shifting and settling.
To stabilize Larry's wall, Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed. Multiple thin rods are drilled out from the basement, and past the active layer of dirt to a more stable ground. Then plates are connected to these galvanized rods to anchor them to the solid earth.
Larry's wall is now stabilized and will eventually straighten out, over time.
