Lifting a Sinking Sidewalk in Trenton, IL Lifting a Sinking Sidewalk in Trenton, IL

A sidewalk leading up to a house was sinking in Trenton, IL causing the slabs to become crooked and uneven. To solve this issue, the PolyLevel System was installed. This will stabilize, lift, and level the concrete slabs with high-strength polyurethane foam. Pea-sized holes were drilled into the concrete and the foam was injected to fill the void underneath. This installation technique allows the foam to expand as it cures, precisely lifting the slabs back up. This will improve the safety of the sidewalk and restore peace of mind for years to come!

New Baden, IL Basement Waterproofed

Dustin and Talia S. from New Baden, IL wanted to make sure their home's basement was completely water free. Once they talked to Woods Basement Systems, they were at ease and knew all their basement problems were soon going to be in the past. They then decided they wanted to update their windows and get rid of any drafts. Woods Basement Systems was happy to help with all of the homeowner's concerns!

Design specialist Brenton K. reviewed the problems and found the perfect solution. In order to make sure the basement stayed dry during all the Midwest summer storms, foreman Jose L. installed a TwinPack sump pump, an exterior discharge line, an IceGuard, a CleanSpace Wall System, and a Waterguard. The TwinPack sump pump, which has a primary and secondary pump, and the discharge line ensures that any water will be collected and then sent away from the house. The IceGuard is utilized during the winter. It makes sure that if the discharge line freezes, there is another route for the water to get out of the house. The Waterguard is placed above the footing and is then covered with concrete. The Waterguard makes sure that any rising water is collected before it can reach the surface of the basement floor. Finally, the CleanSpace Wall System is a heavy, plastic wall liner that acts as a vapor barrier and drains any leaking water that occurs behind it. All of these products together can assure homeowners that there will be no flooded basement.

Old windows can get rusty and allow air and humidity to sneak inside the house, which also results in higher energy bills. Instead of just ignoring the problem, Dustin and Talia had their old windows replaced with new, more energy efficient windows. The final step on making sure the home was as energy efficient and comfortable as possible was to use rim joist spray foam to insulate the house. The foam spray expands to fill any gaps and makes sure that no air is able to get in. This results in a more comfortable home with lower energy bills.

After having Woods Basement Systems come out and work their magic, Dustin and Talia S. are very pleased with their safe and comfortable home! They no longer have to worry about a wet basement or high energy bills.

Leveling an Uneven Patio

This patio in Swansea, IL. began to settle into the ground unevenly. This caused some of the concrete to dip lower than the rest and caused damage to the bricks resting on top of the concrete as well.

Jon L. from Woods Basement Systems was able to fix this problem by installing PolyLevel™ beneath the sinking concrete. PolyLevel™ is a rigid foam-based material that can be installed in just minutes and will raise the concrete above it back to a level position. Because it is so light, PolyLevel™ won't add weight to the soil beneath the concrete. This is important because the extra weight usually causes further settling and more uneven concrete. Its light weight doesn't stop it from being strong though, PolyLevel™ is tough enough to even be used at airports!

This patio was sinking and uneven, but with PolyLevel™ injected beneath the concrete slabs the patio will once again become a good-looking and safe area of the home.

Protected by TripleSafe™

This basement in Trenton, IL. is protected by the TripleSafe™ sump pump system. This unique sump pump system is the best waterproofing protection for its cost on the market.

That's because the TripleSafe™ is packed with waterproofing features, starting with having three powerful pumps. The first pump will deal with the standard amount of water that gets gathered by the drainage system. The second pump can turn on to help the first pump get rid of larger volumes of water, like during a period of particularly heavy rainfall. The third pump is a battery-powered backup pump that can turn on if water levels get too high for just the first two pumps or on its own when the power goes out and the first two pumps can't turn on. These three pumps will ensure that even incredibly high volumes of water won't threaten to flood the basement.

But that's not all the TripleSafe™ offers. The TripleSafe™ also features a special sump pit liner that can collect water from the surrounding area as well as the drainage system. The liner features an air tight lid that will prevent any water in the pit from evaporating into the home. The lid will still allow water to enter the pit from above in the event of a leak coming from inside like a plumbing leak. As an extra precaution, the lid also features an alarm that can sound when it detects water entering the pit from above to alert homeowners to a possible leak.

The TripleSafe™ system will keep this basement in Trenton, IL. safe from flooding with the help of its three pumps and feature-packed design.

Water Damaged Walls

This home in Trenton, IL. had finished walls in the basement, making the space a comfortable and usable living space. Unfortunately, this home did not have a waterproofing system to protect the finished walls, resulting in water damaged and moldy finished walls.

The solution to this issue was to install WaterGuard™, a perimeter drainage system that would collect water and direct it to the sump pump system before it could damage the finished walls. Water often leaks into a basement through the tiny gap where the wall meets the floor. That's why WaterGuard™ is installed just beneath the floor along the wall. From there, WaterGuard™ will collect water before it can rise up to floor level. It can also collect water from leaks through the wall before they can pool up on the floor.

Thanks to WaterGuard™, the finished walls in this home will be protected from water damage. Now, when the homeowners fix the finished walls and floors, they can do so safely, knowing that they won't have to pay to fix this damage again.

Installing a Sump Pump in Breese, IL

Water was entering a basement in Breese, IL, causing concern. To solve this issue, the WaterGuard System was first installed. This drainage system is installed adjacent to the home and provides a channel that connects to the sump pump.  Its design will drain any wall seepage without allowing dirt and debris from the floor to enter and clog the pipes. Next, the TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed. This system assures protection from everyday problems with an ordinary pump. The TripleSafe can handle a heavy flow of water, thanks to a secondary pump included inside that will help eliminate the water if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water that is entering it. It also features a removable airtight lid which reduces noise, prevents objects from falling in, and keeps moisture, insects, and odor from coming out of the sump. This system also includes an UltraSump battery backup system which turns on if the power goes out and effectively pumps out the water. This basement will now stay dry all the time!
