The first two pumps will do most of the pumping while the third, battery-powered pump will turn on to assist them when water levels get too high or when the power goes out and the first two pumps can't turn on. This dehumidifier in Sandra H.'s basement was just not good enough.

Dehumidifiers like this are small and inefficient, often not being able to totally dry the air in the space. They also drain the water into a bucket in the base of the unit. When that bucket gets full the dehumidifer shuts off and can't keep the air dry. Sandra would have to go down into her basement regularly to empty the bucket and keep the dehumidifier running.

This means it can run as much as it needs and won't shut off because it's full. As if drying the air wasn't enough, the Sedona will also filter out particles in the air like mold spores.

Design specialist David P. assessed the situation and decided the best plan of action would be to install an UltraSump sump pump, a CleanSpace Wall System, and a WaterGuard drainage system. The crack in the basement floor would also have to be fixed and sealed. Foreman Jose L. traveled to the home to get the job started.

The UltraSump sump pump has both a primary and a battery powered pump that collect and move water outside of the home. Thanks to the battery powered pump, even if the power goes out the basement will stay dry. The CleanSpace Wall System is a durable liner that is placed on the walls of the basement. It acts as a water vapor barrier and drains any water leaks behind it. The WaterGuard drainage system is placed above the footing of the basement and is then covered with concrete. It collects and drains any water that comes up from the ground before it reaches the basement surface. Finally, the crack was back-filled with stone and then covered with fresh concrete.

Eugene no longer has to worry about water seeping up from the ground and flooding his basement. He now has a dry and waterproof home.

WaterGuard was installed under the concrete floors along the perimeter of the basement.
