When homeowner Kimball C. of Brighton, IL discovered the issues that comes along with a dirt crawlspace, he gave Woods Basement System a call. Foreman, James L. did a CleanSpace Encapsulation System installation. The dirt in a crawlspace has a very high humidity level which causes water vapor to move upward into the home. The dampness in the crawlspace also allows mold to reproduce, sending toxic mold spores into upper level of the home. The CleanSpace Encapsulation System consists of a heavy duty 7-layer liner material that is installaed across the floor and up the walls of the crawlspace. This system stops water vapor from coming in and removes the damp odor. 

Because of the CleanSpace Encapsulation System, Kimball C. has a clean and bright crawlspace.

Systems Design Specialist Michael T. evaluated the situation and determined that the appropriate solution would be to have foreman Mason S. waterproof the basement. In order to successfully do so, he installed WaterGuard, IceGuard and Triple Safe sump pump. All of these products work together in order to keep the basement dry. WaterGuard pushes water towards the top of the surface to keep it from reaching the ground and through Triple Safe sump pump, while IceGuard works to keep water flowing during winter months when freezing is a concern.

Since the waterproofing of his basement, Brandon is no longer concerned when he sees rain in the forecast.

Wall anchors extend from the inside walls of the basement to the hard packed soil outside. The wall anchors stabilize and prevent any further movement of the walls. The Waterguard drainage system was placed just above the footing of the basement. It collects and drains any water rising from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. Finally, the TripleSafe sump pump is equipped with a primary, secondary, and battery powered pump that removes water from the home no matter what may happen.

Jessica F. no longer has to worry about the walls in her home cracking or her basement flooding. She now has stable walls and a dry basement.

Woods Basement Systems installed two Helical Piers on the side of the patio that was sinking. Helical Piers are designed to support heavy and lightweight structures, like patios, and prevent them from sinking any further. The corrosion-proof Helical Piers are driven into more stable soil under the structure and then attached to the concrete footing. Helical Piers will prevent any future settlement of the structure and can even lift the structure back to its original position.
