Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Installing a Sump Pump in Columbia, IL

Water was entering a basement in Columbia, IL, causing damage and concern. To solve this issue, the WaterGuard System was first installed. This drainage system is installed adjacent to the home and provides a channel that connects to the sump pump.  Its design will drain any wall seepage without allowing dirt and debris from the floor to enter and clog the pipes.

Next, the TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed. This system assures protection from everyday problems with an ordinary pump. It can handle a heavy flow of water, thanks to a secondary pump included inside that will help eliminate the water if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water that is entering it. It also features a removable airtight lid that reduces noise, prevents objects from falling in, and keeps moisture, insects, and odor from coming out of the sump. This basement will now stay dry all the time thanks to these systems!

Keeping a Driveway Even

Over time, concrete can settle, causing gaps to form or creating an uneven surface. This happened to Jeff B.'s driveway and back patio in Columbia, IL.

When concrete settles it is often because the soil beneath it has compressed from the weight above it or because it has been washed away be water. In fact, there are many reasons why the soil beneath the concrete may not be able to support the weight above it. Whatever the reason is, the settling can cause concrete to be uneven or damaged. To keep it even and undamaged, Jeff B. needed a system to level the concrete and to seal the cracks between the blocks.

The system was PolyLevel™. PolyLevel™ is a super-durable polymer that solidifies into a light-weight foam. Tiny holes are drilled into the uneven concrete surfaces and PolyLevel™ is injected beneath the concrete. The foam lifts the concrete and then solidifies into position. Unlike similar solutions like mudjacking, PolyLevel™ is lightweight and won't cause the soil beneath the concrete to settle any more. This makes it a more permanent solution as it levels the concrete without adding to the weight.

Once the concrete is lifted back into place, new sealant is applied to the expansion joints in the concrete. This sealant keeps water and debris out while still being pliable enough to handle the stress of concrete shifting and expanding during temperature changes. Unlike other sealants, NexusPro™ can do all of this while still being resistant to UV rays that cause other sealants to crack or bubble.

With a leveled and sealed driveway and patio, Jeff B. won't have to worry about concrete cracking or settling unevenly due to soil settling beneath the driveway.

Foreman Miguel O installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This particular device works in three levels. The first is the main pump, which gets the water out of your basement. The second is a back-up pump that turns on if the first pump is overloaded. The third pump is battery operated and will keep pumping water out of your basement even if the power shuts off. An IceGuard was also installed to keep water from backing up into the basement in case of clogging or freezing in the winter. A WaterGuard is designed to allow excess water to drain out of your basement. He also installed a CleanSpace wall system, which is a heavy plastic liner that goes over stone walls and keeps out moisture.

Alonzo can now rest assured that his basement is dry and protected from future water damage.

Basement and Crawlspace Waterproofed in Columbia, IL

Mike and Andrea D. of Columbia had major water issues in their basement and crawlspace. Their stone foundation had numerous cracks and gaps that allowed an alarming amount of water to leak into both their basement and crawlspace. Neither could be used for storage without their belongings becoming water damaged so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Mike T. inspected the basement and found that the best solution would be a basement and crawlspace waterproofing system.

Along the foundation walls in the basement and crawlspace, Woods installed CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a thick durable moisture barrier that can be installed on uneven surfaces like the stone foundation in this home. It prevents moisture from entering into the basement through the walls and instead directs it to the drainage system below.

The WaterGuard drainage system was installed under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is designed to collect water from the foundation walls and joints were the walls meet the floors, the places where most water intrusion occurs, and drains it to the sump pump for removal. Because it is situated on top of the concrete footing of the home, the WaterGuard system is kept safely away from mud that might clog it.

Woods installed the Twin Pack to take the water from the drainage system and pump it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The Twin Pack contains two powerful cast-iron pumps that sit within different levels within the sump liner. This allows the Twin Pack to be effective against small leaks and heavy downpours.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards prevent water from coming back into the basement if the lines become frozen during cold winter months. They feature slotted openings that give water an alternative escape route into the yard.

Mike and Andrea D. have peace of mind that the can safely store their belongings in their basement and crawlspace because they will stay dry.

Finished Basement Waterproofed in Columbia, IL

Dawn H. of Columbia, IL had a beautiful finished basement that was carpeted and housed expensive electronics. There was a big problem: water was seeping in underneath the finished walls, damaging the carpet and threatening their belongings. Dawn didn’t want to leave the problem and risk further damage so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Chris B. inspected her basement and recommended a full perimeter waterproofing system.

Woods installed WaterGuard under the concrete floors of the basement along the walls. WaterGuard is a drainage system that collects water from the foundation walls and floors of the basement and drains it away to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed to collect the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through the discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains three pumps: a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump, ensuring the basement stays dry even when the forecast calls for downpours. On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. If the lines become frozen or clogged, water can escape through the slotted openings of the IceGuard and not come back into the basement.

Dawn H. has peace of mind that her basement and belongings are safe from water damage because it will remain dry.

Finished Basement Waterproofed in Columbia, IL

Miranda B. of Columbia, IL had an alarming amount of water come into her finished basement any time there was bad weather. It was causing water damage to her finished walls as well as the furniture and other belongings she kept in her basement. She was tired of worrying every time the forecast called for rain so she called Woods Basement Systems for a free, no obligation estimate. Design Specialist Jeremy K. assessed her basement and recommended installing a waterproofing system to handle the water problem.

Under the concrete floors of the basement, WaterGuard was installed. WaterGuard is a drainage system that sits on the footing and away from any mud that may clog it as it collects water from the walls and floors and drains it away to the sump pump.

A Twin Pack sump pump was installed. It contains a primary and secondary pump sitting at different levels within the sump liner so if the primary pump fails or is unable to keep up with the amount of unwanted water coming in, the secondary pump will work with it to ensure that water continues being pumped out of the basement through the discharge lines and safely away from the basement. IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines so that, in the event the lines become frozen or clogged, the water can escape through its slotted openings instead of coming back into the basement.

Miranda B. no longer worries about severe weather because she knows that her finished basement and belongings will stay dry.
