Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Crawlspace Waterproofing with CleanSpace

Uneven Cracks in Concrete Leveled with PolyLevel in Vandalia, IL

Julie D is worried about her foundation settling. Large cracks keep growing wider on the concrete floor, making the slabs uneven.

Clay L and his crew injected PolyLevel into the concrete to raise up and make the slabs level again. This will also lift them back to their original position, and keep them there. Push Piers were also installed to stabilize and support the foundation. Julie can now walk safely now that her concrete is even!

Drainage System with IceGuard

In Vandalia, Illinois homeowners Tim and Ross K. were having problems with water entering their crawlspace. This was causing problems inside of their home, sending unwanted smells and damp conditions into their home. The even began to notice the floor of the crawlspace had began to sink in. Worried about the well-being of their family and home, they finally decided to make the call to Woods Basement Systems.

Our foreman Michael Rebenstorff and his team discovered the area around the foundation of the home was very damp, meaning water was entering through the walls of the crawlspace. In order to keep the water away from the home, they first installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump system. This system is installed in the crawlspace to collect any water found in the space and send it outside of the home. Next, they extended the outdoor drainage system further away from the home. Ensuring that the water is staying away from the foundation, and keeping the home safe and dry.

Sedona Dehumidifier Installed in Vandalia

Homeowner Heather D. from Vandalia, IL. noticed that, though there weren't any apparent leaks, the air in her basement felt damp and uncomfortable.

Damp basement air can be more than just uncomfortable. Water vapor in the air makes air conditioning less effective. The vapor can also feed mold and dust mites, making the home less healthy as well as less comfortable. Fortunately, the Sedona dehumidifier can solve all of these problems.

The Sedona is a powerful dehumidifier that can wring the air dry while only using the same amount of power as dehumidifiers that are less than half as effective. By drying the air, the Sedona is able to reduce dust mite populations and hault the growth of mold. The integrated air filter will also catch mold spores to stop mold from spreading further and can even filter out dust mite droppings, which are the number one cause of indoor allergies.

Now that Heather D. has a Sedona dehumidifier, she can breathe easy knowing that her home will be more comfortable, more efficient and safer.

Waterproofing for a Finished Basement

Kay H. from Vandalia, IL. had a finished basement that included living space and a bedroom. To protect this space, Kay turned to the experts at Woods Basement Systems to ensure that the basement was safe from water leaking in from outside.

Previously, Woods Basement Systems professionals installed WaterGuard™ along the walls to protect the home from leaks coming from both beneath the ground and through the walls. This system tied back into the existing sump pump so that any water from these sources could be pumped out of the home. But this pump was the weak link in a strong waterproofing system. That's why Kay upgraded to the TripleSafe™ sump pump system.

The TripleSafe™ sump pump system features three pumps in a single sump liner. Pumps one and two can keep up with even the heaviest rains to keep the basement dry while pump three is a battery powered backup that can kick in when the power goes out so that the basement is always protected. The TripleSafe™ also uses two discharge lines, allowing it to pump out more water with its two main pumps than other multi-pump systems that only have one discharge line.

The waterproofing system in this basement can now live up to its full potential with the TripleSafe™ system protecting the basement from flooding even when the power goes out.

Waterproofing and Supporting Foundation Walls

The foundation walls of this home in Vandalia, IL. were cracked and damaged due to pressure from the soil outside. This pressure would press in on the walls, causing them to crack and bow. To make matters worse, these cracks would allow water in the ground outside to leak into the basement.

To fix the issue with the cracking walls, Clay L. first installed wall anchors. These wall anchors work by attaching a plate on the inside of the wall to a plate buried out in the tough soil outside with a steel rod. This rod will permanently support the wall when the soil outside expands and contracts.

Next, Clay addressed the leak issue by installing WaterGuard™ in the floor along the walls and CleanSpace™ across the surface of the walls. CleanSpace™ is a waterproof liner designed to prevent water and water vapor from entering while also preventing mold growth along its surface. The water that leaks through the wall will drip down the back side of the CleanSpace™ liner and into the WaterGuard™ system at the bottom. WaterGuard™ is a perimeter drainage system designed to catch leaks from below the floor before they rise up to floor level and to catch leaks in the walls before they puddle up on the floor. It works well with CleanSpace™ to keep the inside of the walls and floors totally dry and protected.

These systems can also be installed around the wall anchors, making the basement supported and water proof. Because they have such a low profile, the homeowner can even decide to build a finished wall over the wall anchors and waterproofing system to hide them from view and make the basement into a comfortable, finished space.

Leaking Finished Basement In Vandalia, IL Fitted With WaterGuard And TripleSafe

Dan R. of Vandalia, Illinois was having issues with moisture in his partially finished basement. During periods of heavy rain, water would come out from behind the drywall at the point where the floor and wall meet before pooling on the floor. This moisture had already badly damaged parts of the drywall, and Dan was eager to get the problem taken care of.

In order to waterproof the basement, a Woods Basement Systems team led by foreman Greg first had to cut away the bottom half of the drywall and rip up parts of the tile to gain access to the foundation. Once this was done, a WaterGuard drainage system was installed underneath the floor at the base of the leaking walls to catch any and all water. To finish, a TripleSafe sump pump was put in place to remove all of that water from the home. Dan's basement is now totally dry!

A Woods Basement Systems team, led by foreman Greg, began waterproofing Ken's basement by installing a WaterGuard system. After this, a TwinPack sump pump was installed and connected to the WaterGuard system to remove all water from the home. Ken couldn't be happier with the results!
