Miguel Ortiz' crew was busy the whole time they were here and did an excellent job of cleaning up after the job was done. Miguel answered all my questions and was very cordial. Miguel went over and beyond his duty when he noticed a gas smell near my hot water heater in the area he was working. He then shut off the gas and informed me of this. Finding someone to be this consciences of his surroundings and taking that next step to inform the homeowner of this should be commended, I thought you should know of this. Thank You Miguel Ortiz, YOU may have saved lives with your alertness, it is very much appreciated and your employers have an excellent employee.

This job was done perfectly from start to finish. Initial salesperson was very knowledgeable and spent considerable time checking, measuring, comparing, calculating, etc. to find the exact problem with our house. We have had 3 other companies here to try to help us find out exactly what was going on and all we got were guesses or possibilities. The installation crew was experienced and went straight to work. Cleanup was great, didn't even know they were here other than the new items installed. We were very satisfied with Woods Basement.

Miguel had an established career involving different methods of waterproofing and foundation support prior to working here at Woods Basement Systems, Inc. He has worked for Woods five years now and enjoys everything about his job from placing material to installing push piers. Since coming here, he has gained extensive knowledge in Clean Space, Everlast Windows, Sun House Wall House Systems, and anchors.
When he is outside of the workplace, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones and hanging out with friends.
This Tuscola, Illinois crawl space suffered from settlement that caused the foundation walls to crack and bow. The severity of this issue forced the homeowners to get help right away to restructure the walls.
For a permanent solution, Team Woods installed push piers into the footing of the home to lift the foundation back into its original position. This piering system was installed all around the troubled wall to prevent any further damage from developing.
William and Deb H. had a leaky eyesore for an egress window and needed a new one, so they decided to call Woods Basement Systems. Systems design specialist, Aaron M. recommended installing a RockWell egress window with a SunHouse cover.
Foreman, Miguel O. installed the products. According to building code, a basement requires a window that can be used as an escape in the event of an emergency if the space is used as a bedroom. The RockWell makes for a great view from the inside and gives off light that fills the room. The SunHouse cover allows for the well be covered and sealed off from dirt, moisture, and critters while still letting in as much light as possible.
Now William and Deb H. have dry, well lit basement window.
This homeowner noticed his basement walls bowing and bending into his home. Design Specialist Luke K. from Woods Basement Systems inspected the damage and recommended the optimal solution for the homeowner's problems.
Team Woods installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to brace the damaged wall. Geo-Lock uses a galvanized steel rod and heavy-duty steel plates to reinforce and even straighten bending walls with minimal disruption to the home or yard.
Flora, Illinois homeowner Stephen noticed his basement walls were bowing and causing his basement to be wet. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Luke K. developed a plan for Stephen.
One part of the plan, was to install Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. Foreman Miguel O. and his crew installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, which go behind the active soil line to provide the resistance the wall needs to fight the pressure of the soil around it.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors can straighten walls over time. During the process, the cracks are closed and other problems can be avoided.
Through his system, Stephen J. gets to enjoy a dry and stable basement for decades to come.
Effingham, Illinois homeowner Sue had cracks in her basement. She gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Luke B. determined the problems and developed the plan for Sue.
Foreman Miguel and his crew installed the dual system, which included the Push Piers and the PowerBraces. The Push Piers go underground to lift the home. The PowerBraces go in the basement to provide extra support the beams need to keep floors and walls sturdy.
Sue can now trust her home will be safe for decades to come.

The previous sump pump installed in this Carlyle, Illinois basement did not have a battery backup or sealed lid to keep water vapor from escaping and causing higher humidity in the basement. Our TripleSafe® sump pump system helps control basement humidity with its sealed lid and has a battery backup sump pump in case of a power outage.
Pesky water leaks had taken over this beautiful Aviston, IL basement. Team Woods utilized WaterGuards into the flooring to collect the water and direct it towards the sump pump. With WaterGuards in place, the water leaks won't pool on the floor and create damage, instead, they will be moved towards the sump pump and will be pumped back outside.
Alice B. of Petersburg, Illinois was troubled by her sinking floors. Greg B., System Design Specialist, inspected her home and designed a solution.
Foreman Miguel O. and his team installed SmartJack. SmartJack lifts and supports the floor. These galvanized steel beams can be adjusted over time as needed. Thanks to this solution, Alice's home is safe and supported.
This partially finished Sparta, Illinois basement was plagued with leaks. During extended periods of rain, water would stream down the walls from behind the wood paneling at the base of the walls. This moisture had badly damaged the wood and stained the floors, and it was threatening several electrical outlets. The homeowner wanted the problem solved, so he called Woods Basement Systems. After ripping out the paneling, a Woods team installed, among other things, WaterGuard drains underneath the floor at the base of the leaking wall to catch any water and prevent it from making it onto the floor. This basement is now totally waterproof!
Lebanon, Illinois homeowner Matthew was finishing his basement. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Brenton developed a plan for him.
Foreman Miguel and his crew installed the Egress Window with Rockwell and an Exterior Sump Pump for Matthew. By installing the Egress window the basement is now up to code if he wants to add a bedroom. It is a large window that is easy to exit, for both adults and children, in the case of an emergency. The RockWell Window Well makes it easy to climb out of the well without needing assistance.
The Exterior Sump Pump removes any water that gets in the well so it does not enter the basement or lead to other problems.
Matthew can now finish his basement without worry and know that the area will be safer and brighter.
Window well drains need to stay clog free and free flowing. Draining a window well to daylight to a point down hill from the home is the best solution. But what if the yard is level? Having a clog-free interior drain is the best option, called WellDuct®. We installed our WellDuct® on the interior basement wall to the exterior window well of this Edwardsville, Illinois home. We drained it into a section of our WaterGuard® system and tied that into the existing drainage system that leads to the homeowner's sump pump. To make sure a basement stays dry all the time, we recommend our upgrade sump pump system with battery backup called TripleSafe® and a perimeter WaterGuard® basement waterproofing system.
Edwardsville, Illinois homeowners Amy and Travis wanted to update their basement window. She gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Bill developed a plan for them.
Foreman Miguel and his crew installed the new Egress window for them. The Egress Window is larger, making it safer to exit in an emergency. It also has a cover to keep water, critters, and debris out of the window well.
The Egress Window brightened up the area and made the basement safer for their family. They can now enjoy their basement with no worry.
This Maryville, Illinois homeowner wanted to build an Egress window in her finished basement to qualify the basement as a finished basement living space. The beautiful Egress window was installed to replace the old basement window. Now not only is the basement meeting the standard requirements, but it also serves as an escape route for the homeowners.
Kim of Red Bud, Illinois wanted to waterproof her basement after years of accumulating water leaks on the floor. To solve this issue, WaterGuard drains were used to waterproof a space by collecting the leaking water and sending it to the sump pump to be discarded of. With the help of WaterGuard, now Kim can enjoy her basement knowing that the space will remain dry and clean for several years to come.
Metal window wells like this one in Granite City rust over time. Weeds can sprout and poke holes in thin, flimsy window well covers and allow rainwater to fill up the window well. Sometimes, window wells are left uncovered, and basements get wet anyway.
SunHouse basement window enclosures offer an attractive, bright, clean solution that keeps rain out, prevents weeds from growing inside, and reflects natural light into the basement.
This STL homeowner wanted to remove excess water coming in through cracks in his basement floor. Design Specialist Thomas W. from Woods Basement Systems inspected the area and recommended an effective, reliable drainage solution.
Team Woods installed WaterGuard drainage systems to reduce the amount of water in the basement and protect it from harmful water damage. WaterGuard is installed under the floor slab to remain out of sight while it provides consistent and clog-free drainage.
The foundation of this St. Louis home had moved from its original location. Owners Dan and Carol called Woods Basement Systems to see what was going on and how to get this situation corrected. After sitting down with one of our system design specialist, they found that their old piers had been oxidised and needed to be replaced. There were also signs of water coming in over there footing and the owners wanted this corrected before it got worse. Therefore, Waterguard as well as new Push Piers were installed and now the house is saved. In addition to saving the home, the property values increased too.
Simply painting a wall does not keep the water out. Groundwater was bleeding through the foundation wall and seeping in at the wall-floor joint. To make matters worse, the foundation had settled. Woods Basement Systems installed push piers to stabilize the foundation and protect against further settlement, and the crew installed additional WaterGuard perimeter drainage to complete the existing waterproofing system and keep the whole basement dry.
The TripleSafe sump pump system was installed in this St Louis basement to replace the old, failing pump.

In an older St. Louis, MO home, a Woods Basement Systems team installed Waterguard and TripleSafe Sump Pump to waterproof the homeowner's basement. The WaterGuard drains water from the basement into the TripleSafe, which pumps it out of and away from the home.
Customer, Karen of St. Louis, Missouri had an egress window in her basement that let in very little natural light and had exposed pipes on the outside near the widow due to soil settlement. So, she decided to call Woods Basement Systems and system design specialist, Mike A. developed a solution to fix her former window. He recommended the RockWell Egress window.
Foreman, Miguel O. installed the window. A RockWell egress window provides the homeowner with a window that lets in more light and is appealing to the eye. Additionally, it is used as a safe emergency exit.
Now Karen C. can enjoy her bright basement.
The basement of Richmond Heights's City Hall had water leaking through cracks in the walls and mold growing throughout the space. One of the most important contributing factors in the basement issues was the old, inefficient sump pump. As seen in the lefthand picture, it was little more than a hole in the ground with some PVC protruding.
In order for a basement to be truly waterproof, it must have a functional, effective sump pump. This is exactly what the City Hall recieved when our patented TripleSafe sump system was installed. Pictured on the right, the new system is clearly a different animal from the old. The TripleSafe system includes three independently operating pumps. Pump number one does the lion's share of the pumping in normal conditions, and pump number two kicks in if and when there is too much water for the first one. If by some chance the first two pumps can't keep up, a third, battery operated pump that is capable of pumping out over 12,000 gallons per hour will kick on.
With this new pump, along with the WaterGuard and CleanSpace systems that were also installed, there should be no problem keeping the basement water-free!
Jackie and Rob F. of Shrewsbury, MO had water damage in their basement. After an estimate by Woods Basement Systems specialist Chris T., it was determined that the damaged portion of the drywall needed to be removed, a waterproofing system be installed, and the bottom half of the wall replaced with the EverLast Half-Wall restoration system.
Pictured above is the TripleSafe sump pump, which is part of the waterproofing system. This pump is designed to collect water from the WaterGuard interior perimeter system and pump it out of and away from the house. It is equipped with a primary pump, secondary pump in case of primary pump failure, and a back up pump in case of power outage. The discharge line includes the IceGuard installed on the exterior of the home and allows water to escape the basement in the event it becomes frozen or clogged.
Saint Louis, Missouri homeowner Melissa noticed cracks and gaps in the exterior wall of her garage. She gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Pete developed a plan for her.

Melissa can now landscape the area and trust her garage and home are safe for decades to come.
A homeowner from St. Louis, Missouri reached out to Woods Basement Systems after he noticed that his basement walls were in peril. After years of settlement, these walls were shifting and cracking which would only get worse with time. Foreman, Miguel O., and his crew installed a push pier system into the footing of the basement to prevent further structural damage. These push piers will lift the settled basement back to a leveled alignment.
Customers,Bryan and Kelly from St. Louis, Missouri, experienced water seeping through their old egress window, causing water damage to the basement walls. They decided to call Woods Basement Systems to see what could be done to fix it. Systems design specialist, Christoph H. recommended the installation of a rockwell egress window.
Foreman, Miguel O. installed the window. The rockwell egress window provides a basement with natural light and is fully sealed off from dirt, moisture, and critters. Additionally, the window can act as an escape in case of emergency.
Bryan and Kelly L. can now enjoy their basement with its natural lighting.
This St. Louis, Missouri homeowner wanted to install an Egress window into his finished basement to met building code requirements. In order to qualify as a finished floor in Illinois or Missouri an escape route must be present.
Other than the obvious, the weather changed from before and after, the new Egress window has completely installed in the after image. The results of the project speaks for itself, wow!
