Homeowners in Salem, IL were tired of their dirty crawlspace. It allowed hot, humid air inside in the summer and cold air inside in the winter as well as hosted all manner of bugs and critters.
To fix their issues, Wood's Basement Systems foreman Ben S. installed CleanSpace™, a waterproof barrier that helps insulate the house from outside air as well as protects from dirt, mold, critters and water vapor.
The homeowners went from having a dirty and dingy crawlspace that hurt their home's energy efficiency and comfort to having a CleanSpace™ crawlspace that helps insulate their house and offers a dry and clean crawlspace.
Bowing concrete-block basement walls present quite a problem. Although bowing is bad for any walls, concrete-block walls are particularly dangerous because individual blocks can fail and allow dirt and moisture to freely pour into the space. With these concerns in mind, this Dix, Illinois homeowner called Woods Basement Systems to address his bowing walls. A Woods team installed several GeoLock anchors in the firm soil 10 feet away from the home to pull the walls outward over time by connecting them with steel plates on the interior surface of the walls.
Julie K. of Pickneyville, IL contacted Woods Basement Systems because she noticed a musty smell in her damp basement and could see water spots on the floor. In order to solve the issue, Woods installed the WaterGuard waterproofing system, which controls the direction of water to the sump pump and out of the house. The sump pump pictured is our TripleSafe sump pump that consists of a primary and secondary pump as well as a battery backup pump in the case of primary pump failure or power outage. After the system installation, Julie is now happy with her newly clean and dry basement.
Homeowners in Dorsey, IL. had a sump pump in their basement that wasn't giving them the peace of mind they wanted. So they called Woods Basement Systems and got the pump they needed.
Ben S. was able to come to the home and remove their old sump pump system and install a new TripleSafe™ sump pump. This TripleSafe™ system has three pumps to always keep the basement dry.
The first pump is a 1/3 horsepower pump that deals with most of the water in the system. If that pump can't keep up, a second, 1/2 horespower pump kicks in to remove water even faster. And if the power goes out or if pumps one and two can't keep up, a third, batter-powered pump will turn on to keep the basement dry. As an extra safety measure, the TripleSafe™ system also features an alarm that can alert homeowners in the event of a plumbling leak or other interior leak.
With a TripleSafe™ sump pump system, these homeowners won't need to worry about water overfilling their sump hole again.
Michael W. didn’t like the appearance of his dingy, stained foundation walls in his Alton, IL home so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing BrightWall Panels.
Woods installed BrightWall panels over the walls. They are made of rigid white plastic that doesn’t need to be painted and is washable. BrightWall panels also work with the waterproofing system Michael had previously installed by Woods. They prevent moisture by entering the basement and directs it to the perimeter drainage system. They give the basement a much brighter and cleaner appearance.

In order to relieve the homeowner of the stress and totally waterproof the basement, a Woods Basement Systems team began by installing WaterGuard drains underneath the floor at the base of the leaking walls to catch any and all water. Donald K. of Mehlville, Missouri noticed that his home's basement was collecting water. He did not want to have to clean up a mess after every storm, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.
Design specialist Benjamin S. assessed the situation and formulated the perfect solution. Then, foreman Mason S. traveled to the home to install a BrightWall paneling system, a Waterguard drainage system, and a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier.
The Waterguard drainage system, pictured above, was placed above the footing of the basement, and was then covered with concrete. It collects any water rising from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. It then drains the water to the sump pump.
Donald K. no longer has to worry about finding a flooded basement. He now has a dry and waterproof home.
