This was my first experience with Ben Scobbie, the technician, even though I have been a customer of Woods Basement Systems for a number of years. Ben was fantastic. He came to my home for a routine service visit; however, our area had just experienced unusually heavy rains with flooding, and I had a water problem in my downstairs. Ben did some diagnostics and offered several solutions and things to think about. He took his time and showed personal interest in the care of my home and property. I hope he is my technician the next time--he is an asset to the company.

Ben Scobbe was very easy to work with. He was prompt (actually early-called first to see if that was okay), answered all my questions, was very informative, was very concerned about not making a mess and making sure everything was left the way he found it. I would definitely welcome Ben to my home again and recommend him to others.

Bowing concrete-block basement walls present quite a problem. Although bowing is bad for any walls, concrete-block walls are particularly dangerous because individual blocks can fail and allow dirt and moisture to freely pour into the space. With these concerns in mind, this Dix, Illinois homeowner called Woods Basement Systems to address his bowing walls. A Woods team installed several GeoLock anchors in the firm soil 10 feet away from the home to pull the walls outward over time by connecting them with steel plates on the interior surface of the walls.
Julie K. of Pickneyville, IL contacted Woods Basement Systems because she noticed a musty smell in her damp basement and could see water spots on the floor. In order to solve the issue, Woods installed the WaterGuard waterproofing system, which controls the direction of water to the sump pump and out of the house. The sump pump pictured is our TripleSafe sump pump that consists of a primary and secondary pump as well as a battery backup pump in the case of primary pump failure or power outage. After the system installation, Julie is now happy with her newly clean and dry basement.
Michael W. didn’t like the appearance of his dingy, stained foundation walls in his Alton, IL home so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing BrightWall Panels.
Woods installed BrightWall panels over the walls. They are made of rigid white plastic that doesn’t need to be painted and is washable. BrightWall panels also work with the waterproofing system Michael had previously installed by Woods. They prevent moisture by entering the basement and directs it to the perimeter drainage system. They give the basement a much brighter and cleaner appearance.
Donald K. of Mehlville, Missouri noticed that his home's basement was collecting water. He did not want to have to clean up a mess after every storm, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.
Design specialist Benjamin S. assessed the situation and formulated the perfect solution. Then, foreman Mason S. traveled to the home to install a BrightWall paneling system, a Waterguard drainage system, and a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier.
The Waterguard drainage system, pictured above, was placed above the footing of the basement, and was then covered with concrete. It collects any water rising from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. It then drains the water to the sump pump.
Donald K. no longer has to worry about finding a flooded basement. He now has a dry and waterproof home.
A leaky basement is not just hard to make good use of; it can be riddled with mold and stains and other unsightly issues. This was the case with this Wentzville, Missouri basement. The homeowner was tired of dealing with the mold, stains, and constant pools of water, so he called Woods Basement Systems. A Woods team installed several waterproofing measures, including a Triple Safe sump pump. Equipped with three independently operating pumps, one of which is a battery backup, the TripleSafe is capable of removing well over 10,000 gallons of water per hour at an 8 foot head. This basement is now totally free of moisture.
This Gray Summit, Missouri home's concrete-block basement walls were badly cracked and slightly bowing in places. The homeowner was quite concerned about this and worried that letting the cracks go unaddressed for much longer might lead to a total wall collapse. With this in mind, Woods Basement Systems was called in. A team installed several GeoLock wall anchors, supports that function by attaching anchors buried deep in the firm soil far from the home to steel plates on the interior surface of the foundation walls, throughout the space. These anchors effectively pull the walls outward over time and totally prevent further movement and cracking.
