Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Servicing Sump Pumps

This home in Washington, MO. was due for a maintenance inspection. Even though they didn't have the unique sump pump systems that Woods Basement Systems offers like the UltraSump or TripleSafe™ systems, Clint W. was still able to inspect the Zoeller sump pump they do have to make sure their sump pump is in good condition.

After performing his inspection on the sump pump, Clint also checked the exterior drainage line to make sure the water was being drained where it was supposed to be. He took the opportunity to install a cover on the end of the line to prevent dirt and debris from falling into the pipe where it could clog and block the water from being expelled.

Even though the homeowners didn't have a sump pump system that Woods Basement Systems installs, we were still able to perform an inspection and maintenance check on the system in place.

Finished Basement Waterproofed with French WaterGuard Drains in Washington, MO

Betty from Washington, Missouri wanted to waterproof her finished basement after noticing leaks in her carpet. Woods Basement System worked with Betty to waterproof her basement to protect the investment she made in her basement. System design specialist, John H., looked over the susceptible area and recommended installing a WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement.

WaterGuard drains are a French designed drainage system that will stop water leaks in their tracks. These drains are installed in the footing of the basement walls because this is the area that most leaks seep inside. This new system was installed by foreman Juan H. and his crew. Now that WaterGuards have been installed this basement will be finished and waterproofed for many more years to come.

Water Damage Led to Structural Damage in Washington, MO

Nicholas, a homeowner from Washington, Missouri, knew it was time to repair his home's foundation after years of noticing cracks throughout his home. Water would leak into the basement of the house during heavy rains and this later affected the foundation of the home. When the structure of a home moves and settles, this is when foundation cracks develop. To solve this deep-rooted issue, Team Woods sent out a system design specialist, Jose L., who looked over the damages. He later recommended a permanent foundation repair product known as push piers to solve this issue.

Push piers are made out of durable galvanized steel, and these piers are "pushed" under the footing of the home. Push piers regain stability of the house by moving the weight of the home onto the piers. Jose L. was also the foreman on this project, and he worked with his team of installers to quickly and efficiently install several push piers into the footing of the home. Now that the push piers have been installed, Nicholas no longer has to worry about the safety of his home's foundation again!

Jeff was fixing up a home to later rent out, but it needed some waterproofing work done, so he called Woods Basement Systems. Systems design specialist, Michael H. recommended installing a Twin Pack sump pump and a WaterGuard system.

Foreman, James L. installed the products. The Twin pack sump pump has two stainless steel pumps on different levels, so that they can kick in to prevent flooding. WaterGuard is installed in the perimeter of a basement floor and takes collected water that may leak in and directs it to the sump pump in order for it to be removed from the home.

Now. Jeff G. is one step closer to renting out his property.

The Waterguard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement. It collects any water coming up from the ground before it reaches the basement surface. It then sends the water to the sump pump.

The Push Pier will be driven into the ground and will support the section of the house that is sinking, and attempt to raise its level. The Wall Anchor has one end that attaches to a stable portion of soil away from the house, and the other end will attach to the basement walls and straighten them over time.

Crawl Space Waterproofing in Washington, MO

Scott L. of Washington, Missouri discovered that his home's crawl space was holding water. He knew that standing water could cause rotting and mold growth, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.

Design specialist John S. assessed the situation and decided that the best solution was to install a CleanSpace encapsulation system, a SmartPipe drainage system, a SmartSump sump pump, and a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier. Foreman James L. then traveled to the home to get the job started.

The CleanSpace encapsulation system was placed on the floor and up the walls of the crawl space. It is a durable liner that acts as a vapor barrier and drains any leaks that occur behind it. The SmartPipe drainage system accepts water from both the surface and the soil of the crawl space. It then drains the water to the sump pump. The Sanidry Sedona is a lightweight dehumidifier that fits perfectly in the crawl space. It removes water from the air and also filters it for pollen, mold spores, dust, and other allergens. Finally, the SmartSump is a sump pump made specifically for crawl spaces. It collects and removes water from the crawl space.

Scott L. no longer has to worry about his home's crawl space holding water. He now has a dry and waterproof crawl space.

Waterproofing in Washington, MO Basement

Dan K. of Washington, Missouri discovered that his home's basement was collecting water. He did not want to have to clean up a mess after every heavy rain, so he called Woods Basement Systems.

The Waterguard drainage system was installed above the footing of the basement. It was then covered with concrete. The Waterguard collects rising water before it reaches the basement surface. It then drains it to the sump pump. The Twin Pack sump pump has both a primary and secondary pump that collect and move water outside of the home through a discharge line.

Dan K. no longer has to worry about a flooded basement. He now has a dry and waterproof home.

Waterproofing in Washington, MO

Sally G. of Washington, MO contacted Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate on waterproffing her basement.

Foreman William H. and crew installed the waterproofing system to ensure that the basemnt remain dry and clean.

Radon Mitigation System Installed in Washington, MO

Lena K. of Washington, MO had a radon problem in her home. She tested for radon and found that the radon level in her home was 10.7 pCi/l which is much higher than 4.0 pCi/l, the level that the EPA  recommends a home be at or below for indoor air. Radon is a radioactive carcinogen and the second leading cause of lung cancer so Lena called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Matt S. recommended installing a Radon Mitigation System.

The soil under and around the home is the largest source of radon. Woods drilled a hole in the slab foundation floor to provide an area of least resistance that will draw radon gas up through it. The hole is connected to PVC pipes that can run inside or outside the home and directs the gas upward. Passive mitigation systems use the same system of pipes to ventilate radon away from the home but are not always reliable in keeping radon levels before 4pCi/l. In this active system, the pipe is connected to a fan in the attic that runs continuously, without making noise or using much power, to the gas safely away from the home.

Lena K. is relieved that she no longer has to worry about her home’s air safety or the hazards of radon gas.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, Push Piers and Polylevel Installed in Washington, MO

Tyler R. of Washington, MO had noticed some stair step cracks along the bricks outside of his home. A long horizontal crack had formed along a wall on the inside of his home as well. He also had a retaining wall that was tilting inward and damaging his patio. His concrete driveway and patio were sloping and uneven which posed numerous tripping hazards so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the issues Tyler was having in his home and recommended installing Push Piers, Geo-Lock Wall Anchors and PolyLevel to counteract the underlying soil conditions responsible for the damage.

Push Piers were installed to address the foundation settlement responsible for the cracks on the brick and within the home. Foundation settlement is caused by unstable soil settling under and around the foundation and bringing the foundation with it. High-strength steel pier sections are driven into stable soil conditions or bedrock below the home. They are attached to the concrete footing of the home using steel brackets which transfers the weight of the home to the load bearing soil or bedrock. Push Piers also offer the opportunity to lift the home back to a more level position.

Woods installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along the retaining wall. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract the pressure on the wall from the unstable soil conditions on the other side. Galvanized steel anchor rods were driven through the wall and connected to earth anchors embedded in more stable soil conditions in the yard. The rods are attached to wall plates on the inside of the wall. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors permanently stabilize the wall and can also straighten the wall by tightening them during dry periods.

PolyLevel was injected under the sunken concrete slabs of the driveway and patio. PolyLevel is an expanding polymer foam that fills any voids under the concrete and lifts and levels the slabs. PolyLevel cures quickly so the driveway and patio can be used in about 15 minutes, much less time than traditional mudjacking. It’s waterproof so it won’t be washed away which makes it a much more permanent solution than mudjacking as well.

Tyler R. has peace of mind that his foundation and retaining wall are safe and secure and relieved he no longer has to deal with tripping hazards on his patio and driveway.

Waterguard in Washington, MO.

Judy and Bill V. had water coming into their basement through cracks in their foundation and walls. They called Woods Basement System to fix their water problem. Pete N. found them the perfect solution.

Woods Basement Systems installed a Waterguard system. Waterguard is installed in the concrete of the floor next to walls to guide unwanted water to the sump pump. The Twin Pack sump pump installed pumps the water outside through a drainage line. Sometimes the drainage line may get clogged or freeze so an Iceguard was installed, which keeps the water from draining back into the basement.

Judy and Bill V. are thrilled with their new system and have the peace of mind that water won't threaten to flood their basement again.
