St. Louis, MO - The 2011 Growing Green Awards celebration commemorated Woods Basement Systems along with other nominees from six categories, who actively transform the built environment while sharing their knowledge of green building and sustainable practices.
The U.S. Green Building Council - Missouri Gateway Chapter recognized Woods Basement Systems as a Growing Green Awards Nominee in the Residential category, which considers those who work to make residential buildings (of at least 30 units) more sustainable, whether single or multi-family units.
The six categories of nominees included: innovator, residential, government, educator, corporate, and non-profit. A winner from each category was chosen by four industry leaders apart from the Missouri territory in addition to two prior Growing Green Award winners. Judges based their choices upon the following criteria: "the intent of the submitted category, exhibiting a transformative roll in the built environment, defining a clear vision of goals, exemplifying innovation and creativity, demonstrating progressive sustainability methods, communicating a clear and compelling message, and supporting documentation of submission."
