Seeking Public Relations Social Marketing Interns for Fall 2011

OVERVIEW: Woods Basement Systems, Inc. is hiring a limited number of public relations and social marketing interns for Fall 2011. Work with leading home improvement professionals from Illinois and Missouri to enhance brand awareness and help generate new business throughout the Greater St. Louis Area.
QUALIFICATIONS: Woods Basement Systems, Inc. is looking for self-starters who are passionate about networking and skilled in public speaking and communication. Individuals must demonstrate the ability to complete basic public relations writing assignments and maintain a blog, have an active understanding of social media and web design, an ability to interact professionally with clients, and possess good judgment. A working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus. You must have your own computer and/or smartphone (owning a Mac will make a huge difference). Candidates must be of junior standing (65+ credit hours completed) at an accredited College or University.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Interns will be responsible for drafting basic public relations and marketing materials including (but not limited to): press releases, case studies, blog posts, and other materials as directed. Interns may have the opportunity to brainstorm with department managers and present new ideas and strategies. Interns will be expected to work in the office at least 15 hours per week and spend at least 5 hours per week engaging the community and networking. Interns will also help plan media events.
REQUIRED MAJORS: Marketing, Mass Communication, Media Arts, Graphic Design, or Public Relations
