Illinois Homeowner Saves Over $2000 on Energy Saving Upgrades
UPDATE: Diagnostic tests post-upgrade reported better home energy performance than orginally anticipated, which provided the homeowner with an even higher total savings of more than $2000.
Dr. Energy Saver St. Louis has spent the past year helping hundreds of homeowners lower their monthly utility bills through home energy upgrades. Most recently, the Illinois-based company helped two Collinsville, IL homeowners save $1900 instantly on energy-saving upgrades thanks to the ActOnEnergy® Home Energy Performance (HEP) Program.
One of the homeowners was thrilled to share her story. "The $49 was well worth it," said Sue Thompson. "I always wondered why the master bathroom got so cold with the door closed."
Dr. Energy Saver's home energy audit revealed a missing butterfly valve on the bath fan—among other air leaks throughout the home—which caused a significant amount of energy loss, drafts, and discomfort.
"Now, I know I'll be more comfortable," Mrs. Thompson said, "and I look forward to lower utility bills...especially this winter."
By making upgrades, which may include air sealing your home, adding attic insulation or a radiant barrier, or even sealing duct work, Dr. Energy Saver is dedicated to making home energy savings accessible to every homeowner interested in saving energy and money.
