Woods Serves Award-Winning Italian Chili at Collinsville Fall Festival
Collinsville, IL — Every year, the Collinsville Main Street Community Association hosts the annual Fall Festival in Downtown Collinsville. Originally started as an event for children to safely trick-or-treat with Main Street merchants during daylight hours, the festival includes a chili cook-off, costume contest and Halloween walk. The festival awards trophies for best chili (in traditional and non-traditional categories) and best Halloween costume.
Woods Basement Systems' Dave Thompson served up some award-winning Italian Chili at a Main Street tent with the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce. Awarded the 3rd Place trophy for Non-Traditional Chili in the 2010 Downtown Collinsville Chili Cook-Off, the Italian Chili was a celebrated recipe at this year's festival.
Trick-or-Treaters and their parents were also treated to loads of candy at the Woods Basement Systems and Dr. Energy Saver St. Louis tent as part of the festival's Holloween Walk. While children raided the candy bowl, parents scheduled free basement and crawl space inspections and entered to win a free home energy checkup courtesy of Dr. Energy Saver St. Louis.
