David and Betty B. of Chatham, IL had traditional metal window wells. Over the years, they'd rust and were doing nothing to keep dirt out of the windows or increase the light in their basement, as seen in the photo. They called Woods Basement Systems to replace them.

Woods installed SunHouse Window Wells. They are made of reinforced plastic that won't rust or deteriorate and the the shape and white vinyl base of the wells bring more light into the home and keep dirt and pests out. Their clear covers also prevents any precipitation or lawn debris from getting into the window well, as shown in the picture.

Betty and David B. love the way their new window wells look and are enjoying all of the extra light in their basement.

Water getting into crawlspaces can lead to big messes and makes them completely unusable for storage. Betty and David B. of Chatham B. knew this all too well so they called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended encapsulating the crawlspace.

As part of the crawlspace encapsulation system, Woods installed CleanSpace Vapor Barrier throughout the crawlspace. It's a durable, thick plastic liner that will keep moisture from getting into the crawlspace.

Betty and David B. have the peace of mind that they can use their crawlspace for storage and their belongings will stay dry.

Encapsulated crawlspaces are fantastic for keep water and moisture out of the crawlspace but unforeseen plugging leaks can fill up an encapsulated crawlspace and create major damage. Woods Basement Systems understands that problems with plumbing may arise, so when Woods encapsulated Betty and David B.'s Chatham, IL crawlspace, they installed a SmartDrain.

The SmartDrain installs perfectly with the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, to create an air tight seal. It collects any water that gets into the encapsulated crawlspace from a plumbing issue and drains it down to a bed of gravel that leads to a dry well that will allow the water to seep into the soil below the crawlspace. It is equipped with a WaterWatch Alarm that will alert the homeowner when water is being collected in the drain so the homeowner knows there's an issue before it turns into a much bigger problem.

Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab, then the PolyLevel polymer is poured into the holes. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on. This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive and arguably more effective than mud jacking which is the procedure PolyLevel replaces. To removed tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling estimate contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks

Job Stories From Chatham, IL
Push Piers Installed in Chatham, IL

Chatham, Illinois homeowner Jason noticed cracks in his drywall. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call and Team Woods developed a plan for him!

Foreman Jose L. and his crew installed our Push Pier system to help the foundation. Since our homes foundation keeps it standing when it settles, it can cause big issues at weak spots in walls.

By installing our steel Push Piers and moving the weight of the home off of the moving soil, we can combat the effects of settling.

Jason can now fix the cosmetic damage knowing the cracks won't reform.

Push Piers Support Chatham, IL Home

A Chatham, Illinois homeowner noticed she had cracks on the exterior of her home, most leading to or coming from a window. She gave Woods Basement Systems a call. System design specialist Benjamin S examined the foundation and found more cracks so he designed a push pier system to fix them.

Foreman Jose L. and his crew installed the Push Piers around the exterior of the home. Push Piers are the perfect soluation for foundation cracks. They are made of steel, and are drilled into the soil beneath the foundation. They go down to the bedrock to transfer the weight from the moving soil to the solid bedrock.

This homeowner can rest assured that her house is now stable and the cracks will be closed and prevented in the future.

PolyLevel Helical Pier Installed in Chatham, IL

Chatham, IL homeowner Jason G. noticed that the walkway from the driveway into his house and the entryway to his garage door were uneven and starting to crack - telltale signs of foundation settling. Jason called Woods Basement Systems for help and met with System Design Specialist Barry C., who worked with Jason to design the ideal solution for his problem.

Foreman Jose L. and his team used PolyLevel, a strong and noninvasive polymer, to restore the uneven slabs in Jason's driveway to their original position. PolyLevel provides lasting concrete support without any invasive installation or jacking. Jose and his team also installed a helical pier foundation support system to brace and level the home's foundation. Jason no longer has to worry about unsightly, uneven concrete or the strength of his home's foundation.

Sagging Floor Fixed with Smart Jacks in Chatham, IL

Bob J. of Chatham, Illinois noticed that the floors in his home were sagging. He did not want the problem to keep getting any worse, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.

Design specialist Brandon B. assessed the situation and decided that the installation of Smart Jacks in the crawl space would fix the homeowner's problems. Foreman James L. then traveled to the home to get the job started.

Smart Jacks are attached to the floor joists above the crawl space. Once the posts are installed, they are adjusted to help raise and level the floors.

Bob J. no longer has to worry about his home's floors sagging. His home now has stable and level floors throughout.

Damp, Humid Crawl Space Encapsulated in Chatham, IL

Amy B. of Chatham, IL had a damp crawl space. The flimsy plastic liner she had in there bunched and did nothing to keep moisture out. High humidity in the crawl space had started to rot the wooden floor joists and the space was completely unusable for storage so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the crawl space and recommended an encapsulation system.

Woods secured CleanSpace over the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a durable, thick plastic moisture barrier. It prevents moisture from entering into the crawl space through the walls or floors. It’s mold resistant and its bright white color maximizes the amount of available light within the crawl space.

Under the CleanSpace, Woods installed Drainage Matting along the dirt floor of the crawl space. Drainage Matting has a dimpled design that gives channels for any water that might seep into the crawl space to disperse.

The SmartDrain was also installed in the crawl space. It’s lid forms an airtight, seamless seal with the CleanSpace. The SmartDrain is designed for encapsulated crawl spaces to prevent the space from filling with water if there is a plumbing leak and collect water from groundwater problems beneath the liner. Water is directed towards the special ball-and-cup drain to be drained to a bed of gravel below where it will flow into a dry well and seep into the soil below. The WaterWatch alarm in the lid of the SmartDrain alerts the owner to a plumbing leak so it can be taken care of before it turns into a major problem.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed in the crawl space to keep the relative humidity low. It’s energy efficient but powerful, removing up to 109 pints of water per day from crawl space air. It prevents musty smells and the conditions that cause mold growth and rot.

Amy B. has peace of mind that she can safely use her crawl space for storage without worry about damage from moisture or humidity.

Crawlspace Encapsulated in Chatham, IL

David and Betty B. of Chatham, IL had a crawlspace that had water seeping into it and turning the dirt floors to mud. They couldn’t use the space for anything and it was just an eyesore. They had old, rusted window wells and leaky windows. David and Betty already knew the benefits of crawlspace encapsulation because they’d previously had Woods Basement Systems encapsulate their larger crawlspace. They knew Woods would be the right company to also take care of their smaller crawlspace so they asked for a free estimate. Design Specialist Nate H. assessed their crawlspace and window wells and gave them the perfect solution.

Woods installed CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to seal off the crawlspace. It is a thick plastic liner that prevents moisture from entering into the basement. Under the CleanSpace, Drainage Matting was installed over the dirt floors. Drainage Matting is dimpled so it creates channels for any standing water in the crawlspace to disperse. A SmartDrain was installed within the encapsulated crawlspace. It works with the CleanSpace to create a seamless, airtight seal. If there is ever a plumbing leak within the crawlspace, the SmartDrain will collect and drain away the water out of the encapsulated crawlspace. It also has a WaterWatch Alarm that will alert the homeowner to water within the crawlspace so they’ll know there’s a problem before it turns into a more costly disaster.

SunHouse Window Wells and Everlast Windows were also installed. SunHouse Window Wells are made of reinforced plastic that will never rust and requires no maintenance. The design brings more light into the crawlspace and will keep out dirt, moisture and pests. The EverLast Windows have a vinyl frame that won’t rust or right and they are double-paned to prevent heat loss.

David and Betty B are thrilled that their smaller crawlspace has been transformed into a usable, dry space and how much brighter their crawlspace is.

CleanSpace Installed in Chatham, IL

Tommy C. of Chatham, IL had water leaking into his crawlspace. Tommy knew that this water could cause mold and rotting wood in the space. Woods Basement Systems was able to provide products to fix the leaking and prevent outside water from getting in.

CleanSpace was installed to help seal off the crawlspace. This seal will prevent outside water from seeping into the space and making it damp. If your crawlspace stays dry, there will be a reduced chance of mold and rotting wood.

Woods installed a sump pump to evacuate unwanted water. The sump pump will pump the water out through a discharge line that leads the water to the yard. This line can become clogged or frozen at times, in order to prevent the water from receding back into the crawlspace, Woods installed IceGuard. IceGuard is installed on the discharge line next to the house and allows water to escape through it when it is necessary.

CleanSpace Encapsulation in Chatham, IL

David and Betty B. of Chatham, IL were having issues with keeping their crawlspace dry. They knew that if water continued to get into the space, the home could begin to have issues with mold and rotting wood.

Woods came in and installed a drainage matting under CleanSpace. This drainage matt would help drain away any water that may get into the crawlspace. The CleanSpace was used to seal off the space to prevent moisture from getting into the space, helping to keep it dry.
