Francis & LaVerne, residents of Glencoe, MO, were unsure exactly how old their house was. When the large horizontal crack on their foundation wall began to leak water, they decided to call in professionals because they were afraid their house was becoming unsafe. Suggested by a neighbor, they called Woods Basement Systems and set up a free consultation with representative, Randy Pantano.
After a thorough assessment, Randy noticed the couples walls were beginning to bow. After informing that this often happens due to too much pressure from the foundation soils, he suggested The Foundation Supportworks Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System, which avoids the cost of total foundation replacement. This long-term system would help straighten then walls back to their original position overtime. He then recommended the WaterGuard drainage channel to prevent the water from the crack from entering his basement. The couple was relieved to know that there was a permanent solution to their problem. They scheduled the project date for the following month.
Foreman Marshall Crawford and his associates started the project on August 19, 2013. The anchors were inserted in the soil outside the foundation. There, they apply pressure to the foundation walls by the connection of a steel rod. This procedure helps form them back to their original position. They then installed an interior drainage channel called the WaterGuard system. The WaterGuard channels any access water that comes through the crack and channels it to the sump pump. By August 23rd, the job was complete.
Not only is Francis & LaVerne’s foundation safer, but their basement is now dry and they increased the value of their home. They can now use their basement space without fear of their possessions getting water damage.

Controlling the humidity of the basement will reduce energy bills and make the space more comfortable to be in and the air moving into the home will be more controlled.

Casey T. of Rochester, IL wanted to use his crawlspace for storage but there was was a problem. Water seeped in through the foundation walls of the crawlspace and turned the dirt floors into a muddy mess making it completely unusable. Casey called Woods Basements Systems for a free assessment. Design Specialist Nolan M. inspected the crawlspace and recommended installing an encapsulation system.
Woods encapsulated the crawlspace using CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is a thick, durable plastic liner that prevents water from entering the crawlspace. Drainage Matting was installed under the CleanSpace over the dirt floors. It’s dimpled so it provides channels for standing water in the crawlspace to disperse out of the crawlspace.
A SmartDrain was installed in the crawlspace and seamlessly with the CleanSpace vapor barrier. If there is ever a plumbing leak into the encapsulated crawlspace, the SmartDrain will collect the water to be drained into a bed of gravel where it will flow into a dry well and seep into the soil below. The SmartDrain is also equipped with a WaterWatch alarm system so if water is detected entering the drain, the homeowner will know there’s an issue before it becomes an even bigger problem.
Casey T. is happy he can now store his belongings in his crawlspace without worries.
Ryan B. of Pevely, Missouri noticed that his basement was collecting water. He did not want to have to deal with this problem after every big rain shower, so he called Woods Basement Systems.
Design specialist Chris T. discussed the problems with the homeowner and decided the best plan of action was to install a Waterguard drainage system and a Twin Pack sump pump. Foreman William H. then headed to the home to start the job.
The Waterguard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement and was then covered with concrete. The Waterguard collects and drains any water that comes up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. The Twin Pack sump pump has both a primary and secondary pump. If, for some reason, the primary pump goes out, the secondary pump kicks in and takes over. The sump pump collects water and moves it out of the home through an exterior discharge line.
Ryan B. no longer has to worry about a wet or flooded basement. He now has a dry and waterproof home.
Lee B. of O'Fallon, MO noticed that the walkway leading up to his home cracking. This can be a common occurrence, as naturally as the result of the weight what the concrete is holding up in addition to the wear and tear of the weight of the concrete itself. Lee realized that the future of his home could be in danger along with causing dangers such as falling. Lee decided to call Woods Basement Systems for a free quote.
Upon the visit from Systems Design Specialist David G., it was determined that the appropriate solution would be for foreman Juan H. to install PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a foam product that is injected into the concrete with the intentions of lifting it back to its natural state.
Since the installation of PolyLevel, Lee B. is no longer concerned about the safety of his home being a concern to himself or to friends and family.

System design specialist, Nolan M. traveled to Casey, IL to do a home inspection and create a design that would ensure the homeowner stability. Foreman, Joshua B. then did a SmartJack Crawlspace Stabilizer installation. The sinking of the basement floors is likely due to the brick columns being too spaced apart in the crawlspace. Another cause of sinking basement floors could be weakened floor joists and girders. The SmartJack uses a steel support system to level and stabilize the girders and floor joists. Once the installment is done, the SmartJack Crawlspace Stabilizer can hold more than 60,000 pounds.
Michael S. now has complete stabilility in his home.

Foreman Juan H. and his team installed this french drainage system. With the help of Team Woods, this homeowner wouldn't have to worry about her basement for several years to come.
Wayne and Kathy C. of Carrollton, IL incapsulated their basement in a vapor barrier to protect it from outside water leaks. But water leaks can still occur from the plumbing systems in the home.
While performing an annual maintenance inspection, Michael B. installed a WaterWatch™ alarm into the existing sump pump system. The WaterWatch™ alarm will detect any water entering the sump pump from outside the vapor barrier and alert the homeowners of the extra water so they can ensure they don't have a plumbing leak.
If any water enters the sump pump from above the drainage system, the WaterWatch™ alarm will make sure Wayne and Kathy know about it.
