Effective Concrete Leveling & Concrete Sealing

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Design Specialist Jeremy K. inspected the foundation walls from the inside and out and recommended installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.

Woods installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along the cracked, bowing walls. Damage to walls like Paul was having is due to external pressure from unstable soil conditions. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract that pressure by embedding earth anchors in more stable soil in the yard and connecting them to wall plates on the inside of the walls using galvanized steel anchor rods. The Geo-Lock Wall Anchors will permanently stabilize the walls in place. They can also straighten the walls over time by tightening the anchors during dry periods.

Paul is relieved now that his walls are secure and permanently stabilized.

The TripleSafe was installed to receive the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains two powerful, cast-iron pumps and a battery back up pump to protect the basement from severe weather conditions and power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. The slotted openings of the IceGuards prevent water from getting back into the basement if the discharge lines become frozen and allow the trapped water to escape into the yard.

Radon Mitigation Completed With Active Soil Depressurization in Mattoon, IL

Radon, while not a fast killer like carbon monoxide, is still an incredibly dangerous gas. It is the world's number one cause of lung cancer in non-smokers, and an American is killed by radon-induced lung cancer every 25 minutes. Living in a home with dangerously heightened radon levels is like smoking several packs of cigarettes a day. Considering all of this, homeowner Tyler B. contacted Woods Basement Systems to have his home protected against radon.

Foreman Brett J. and his team installed several mitigating measures to totally secure Tyler's home. Because radon comes into the home from the ground, most of the work had to be done in the crawl space, and the first step was to put in a CleanSpace encapsulation system to seal the dirt and elements out of the space and make it easier for the additional measures to be installed.

This is where the radon mitigation work really began. For this particular case, Brett and the team used a method called active soil depressurization, wherein a radon fan and PVC piping are used to draw away air from underneath the CleanSpace lining and create a low-pressure system that completely prevents radon from entering the home. Now Tyler can sleep peacefully knowing he and his family are safe from radon!

Leaky Basement Gets WaterGuard and TwinPak Sump Pump in Charleston, IL

Charleston homeowner Nik was having issues with leaks in his basement. Water was making its way into the space through the seam where the wall meets the floor. As Nik used part of the basement as a makeshift theatre and entertainment area, he kept all sorts of electronics and furniture in the space, and the water presented quite a risk to these valuables. All of this considered, he gave Woods Basement Systems a call.

Lucas, system design specialist, visited the home and worked with Nik to craft a solution that would fit all of his needs. Soon after, a Woods team arrived and got to work. Led by foreman Juan, they began by installing WaterGuard, a gutter-like system that is put in place under the floor at the base of the walls to catch and remove any and all water that comes into the basement. Next, the homeowner's existing, ineffective sump pump was replaced by the TwinPak sump system. Equipped with two independently operating pumps capable of removing nearly 10,000 gallons of water an hour, the TwinPak is quite the workhorse. This is where any water caught by the WaterGuard system ends up before being pumped out of the home. The final installation was done on the exterior of the home at the water discharge pipe, where IceGuard was put in place to prevent any sort of freezing problems.

Before this crawl space wasn't an asset to the home, but with the help of CleanSpace that completely changed, now the crawl space is sealed, cleaned, and protected. Smart Jack supports are capable of supporting over 60,000 pounds each, so Dawn will certainly not have to worry about her floors anymore!

Cracked Foundation Secured with Push Piers in Centralia, MO

Homeowner Peggy from Centralia, Missouri had noticed several cracks in her walls and on the porch. Because these cracks had only worsened with time, she called Woods Basement Systems. Team Woods installed the piering system into the footing right away. These heavy-duty piers are pushed into the footing to take the weight of the house onto the piers to prevent cracking. Several push piers were installed all around the exterior to resecure the foundation. Thanks to this permanent solution, the home will not develop anymore cracks.

Wet Mattoon, IL Basement Made Dry With WaterGuard

Donna V. of Mattoon, Illinois had been having issues with water in her basement for several years. Whenever there was a heavy period rain, it would leak through cracks in the walls and pool on the floor. This constant moisture required constant cleanup, and Donna was eager to have the problem taken care of.

In order to waterproof the space, a Woods Basement Systems team installed a WaterGuard drainage system. These gutter-like drains are placed underneath the floor at the base of the leaking walls to catch any water and prevent it from reaching the space. Donna's basement is now totally dry and she couldn't be happier!

Proactive Waterproofing in Charleston, IL with TripleSafe & WaterGuard

Jim, a homeowner in Charleston, Illinois, wanted to take protective measures by waterproofing his basement. This led to Jim giving Woods Basement Systems a call to find a protective solution. Bill C., a system design specialist, went out to the house to see what products would give an optimal solution. Upon inspection, Bill recommended installing a sump pump and a drainage system to waterproof the basement.

These two waterproofing products were selected because a drainage system would collect and direct leaks to the sump pump. The drainage system installed was Woods Basement Systems' top sump pump, TripleSafe. This sump pump contains three pumps that will serve as a dependable system year-round. The drainage system installed was WaterGuard drains. These drains are installed in the footing of the basement walls to collect water leaks that enter through the walls. These two products were installed by foreman, Brett J., and his crew of installers. Thanks to Team Woods, this basement is now safe and waterproofed!

TwinPack Sump Pump & WaterGuard Drains Will Protect Ashmore, IL Basement

Curt from Ashmore, Illinois wanted to waterproof his basement with the help of Woods Basement Systems. For this waterproofing project, system design specialist, Lucas B., utilized a TwinPack sump pump and WaterGuard drains in his customized plan. These two products work together to collect and pump out all water leaks that seep inside.

The WaterGuard drains were installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect the leaks that leak in through the walls. From there the drains would guide the leaks towards the sump pump system to be pumped back outside. These products were installed by foreman, Logan B., and his team of installers. Now this basement can protect itself against water damage!

Attached to the discharge line will be an IceGuard attachment that will prevent the line from clogging and freezing year-round! These outdoor waterproofing products were installed by foreman Jesse C. and his crew of installers.

CleanSpace™ with UltraSump™ and Sedona

There were no corners cut when protecting Pat H.'s crawlspace from water vapor. The dirt floor of the crawlspace would allow water vapor to enter the crawlspace from below. Water vapor can condense on cooler survaces like the walls and ceiling of the crawlspace as well as grow mold and support dust mite populations.

To stop this from happening, the crawlspace was incapsulated with CleanSpace™. CleanSpace™ is a vapor barrier made from a tough liner similar to pool liners. This vapor barrier seals the floor and walls of the crawlspace and prevents water vapor from rising into the crawlspace from the dirt floor. Instead, this water vapor is directed to the UltraSump™ sump pump system which can pump the water away from the home.

The final step in protecting the crawlspace was installing a Sedona. The Sedona would dry the air in the crawlspace, removing any water vapor that was already inside the incapsulated space. The water is drained into the sump pump while the air is filtered of mold spores and dust mites and recirculated through the area.

With bad air being kept out and clean air being circulated, Pat H. has a clean crawlspace that doesn't pose a threat to the rest of her home.

Installing Wall Anchors Around Cracks

This home in Ballwin, MO. had large cracks forming in the foundation walls. These cracks were likely caused by the soil around the home expanding and contracting due to weather conditions. This natural expansion and contraction can press against foundation walls and cause cracking and inward bowing.

To stop this cracking and bowing, Woods Basement Systems installed a series of wall anchors. Wall anchors work by connecting a buried anchor to a plate inside the wall. The anchor will permanently support the wall and can even be used to straighten the wall back to its original position. Once the wall is supported, the cracks are repaired with a special repair system falled FlexiSpan™. This system covers the crack with a tough outer barrier. Inside the barrier, a channel is created that allows any water that might leak in through the crack to drain down into the drainage system in the basement.

The wall anchors will support the wall while FlexiSpan™ will patch the cracks and prevent future leaks. The wall anchor plates can even be installed beneath the cracks to offer maximum support.
