This De Soto, Illinois crawl space didn't have any sort of radiant barrier or finishing. Woods Basement Systems installed CleanSpace in order to provide a clean surface for the homeowner to use for storage as well as to prevent moisture buildup in the crawlspace that could lead to mold and mildew, both of which create foul odors.

The cement block foundation walls of Jolene B.’s De Soto, MO were bulging and tilting inward. Stair step and horizontal cracks had formed along the seams of the blocks and were allowing water to get in so Jolene called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along with a waterproofing system.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the cracked, bulging walls. They counteract the external soil pressure that damages walls. Galvanized steel anchor rods are driven through the walls and connected to steel earth anchors embedded in stable soil conditions in the yard. Steel wall plates are attached on the inside of the foundation walls and tightened into place. They permanently stabilize walls and can even straighten walls over time by tightening the anchors during dry periods.

Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

All of this moisture was putting the home at risk for mold growth and structural damage. Wanting the problem taken care of, she called Woods Basement Systems.

Foreman Juan and his team began their work by installing a CleanSpace encapsulation system throughout the entirety of the crawl space in order to seal out all of the dirt and moisture. The team finished the job by putting in place a SmartSump sump pump to pipe away any moisture present on either side of the CleanSpace barrier.

The SmartSump sump pump is specifically designed for crawl spaces and can provide protection from leaks and flooding.

Now Rodney A. has a dry, healthy crawl space.

SaniDry Sedona in De Soto, MO Basement

James, a De Soto, Missouri homeowner, noticed his basement was often damp and had some water stains on the walls. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call. System Design Specialist Brian S. determined the solution to the damp basement.

Foreman Jeremy R. and his crew installed a SaniDry Sedona for James. The SaniDry Sedona is the only Energy Star rated dehumidifier on the market. It can remove 95 pints of water a day using the same energy as a 40 pint unit. It is also lightwieght at only 60 pounds so it can easily be moved. The self draining system is connected to a sump pump and ensures that the system remains on without emptying a drip tray every couple hours.

The Sanidry Sedona will also filter allergens, dust mite droppings, mold spores, and other small particles out of the air, creating a cleaner environment.

CleanSpace is recommended to prevent the creation of mold and mildew in the foundation of your home. The CleanSpace drainage matting was also recommended to prevent flooding in the crawlspace.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchor and PolyLevel Used in De Soto, MO Basement

Elaine B was concerned when she noticed that her basement walls were beginning to bow, and her floors were uneven. So, she decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Christopher B was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Miguel O installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor and used PolyLevel to even out the floors. The Wall Anchor has two ends, one will attach to a level of stable soil away from the house. The other will attach to the basement walls. The device can be tightened, and over time will straighten the walls. PolyLevel is injected into the concrete and will push up the portion that is sinking. The injection leaves behind a dime-sized hole and will be filled in with concrete.

Waterproofing in De Soto, MO Basement

Norvel O. of De Soto, Missouri noticed that his basement was collecting water after heavy rain showers. He did not want have to continously clean up a mess, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.

Design specialist Brenton K. assessed the situation and decided the best option was to install a Twin Pack sump pump and a Waterguard drainage system. Foreman William H. then traveled to the home to get the job started.

The Waterguard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement. After installation was complete, it was covered with concrete. The Waterguard collects and drains any water coming up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. The Twin Pack sump pump is equipped with both a primary and secondary pump. This means that if the primary pump goes out for whatever reason, the secondary pump will kick in. The sump pump collects and removes water from the home, sending it out through a discharge line.

Norvel O. is happy he no longer has to worry about a flooded basement after big storms. He now has a dry and waterproof basement.

Waterproofing in De Soto, MO Basement

Leonard D. of De Soto, Missouri was shocked when he found that his basement was flooding after heavy rain showers. He did not want to have to clean up a mess after every storm, so he called Woods Basement Systems.

Design specialist Brandon B. assessed the situation and decided that the best plan of action was to install a WaterGuard drainage system and a TripleSafe sump pump. Foreman Melvin F. then headed to the home to get the job started.

The WaterGuard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement and was then covered with concrete. It collects the water coming up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. It then drains the water to the sump pump. The TripleSafe sump pump has a primary, secondary, and battery powered pump. The sump pump collects water and removes it from the home through an exterior discharge line.

Leonard D. no longer has to worry about his basement flooding and causing damage. He now has a dry and waterproof home.

Bowing Wall in De Soto, MO Fixed with Wall Anchors

Norvel O. of De Soto, Missouri discovered that one of the walls in his basement was bowing. He was afraid that if he ignored it there would be further damage. Fortunately, Woods Basement Systems was here to help.

Design specialist Brandon K. assured the homeowner that the problem would be solved. Soon after, foreman Bradly P. headed over to install seven Geo-Lock wall anchors. A steel rod connects a wall plate on the inside of the basement to an anchor placed in stable soil outside. These wall anchors stabilize the and straighten the walls.

Norvel O. was very happy with the work done to his home. He no longer has to worry about his basement wall bowing. He now has a safe and stable walls in his home.

Leak in Basement in De Soto, MO

Mike D. had water entering the basement where the wall meets the floor in one of his rental houses in DeSoto, Missouri. Of course this is quite an irritating and troublesome issue to have to deal with. Mike wanted to make sure this problem would not continue to happen everytime it rained, so he called up Woods Basement Systems to come over and provide a solution.

Design specialist Michael T. discussed the solutions with Mike, and foreman Miguel Ortiz came over right away. He installed a TripleSafe sump pump and an exterior discharge line in order to move all water out and away from the house. He also installed an IceGaurd, which is perfect for the harsh winters. The IceGuard ensures that water can still flow freely even if the discharge line becomes frozen. Finally, Waterguard was inserted in the concrete floor right next to the wall. The Waterguard collects and sends any water leaking from the wall or floor seam to the sump pump. All of these products together insure that there will be no more leaks or wet basement.

Mike D. no longer has to worry about any leaks causing damage to his basement. His basement is now completely waterproofed and as good as new!

Bowing Wall in De Soto, MO

Homeowner Elaine B. in De Soto, MO. suspected that there were some issues in her basement. After reaching out to Woods Basement Systems, our system design specialist, Thomas W. went to De Soto to do an inspection. During the inspection, he found that the walls of the basement were bowing inward. The bowing of the walls were likely due to the amount of moisture in the soil, which causes intense pressure around the home. Thomas W. quickly came up with a solution that would restore the foundation of the basement walls.

Foreman Miguel O. installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchor to fix the problem. This is the best solution to straighten up the walls while also creating stability for the home. This procedure involves light equipment, which also makes it the quickest and cleanest solution. The Geo-Lock is placed into the soil to create the solid foundation. The anchors are then attached to the walls while also being anchored to the outside yard by a steel rod. With a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor, a home can only improve. Because of Woods Basement Systems, Elaine B. could not be any happier knowing the foundation of her home is now secure!

Foundation Walls Stabilized and Basement Waterproofed in De Soto, MO

The foundation walls of Jolene B.’s De Soto, MO home were cracked. The cracks had formed along the cement blocks in areas of the wall that were bulging and tilting inward. The weaknesses in the foundation walls and the wall joints had allowed water leak in and rot the wood frames in the basement so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Brenton K. inspected the basement and recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors and a waterproofing system.

Woods installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along the cracked, bulging walls. Galvanized steel anchor rods were driven through the foundation walls and connected to steel earth anchors embedded in stable soil conditions in the yard. Steel wall plates are attached to the anchor rods on the inside and the components are tightened. They clamps the walls to counteract external soil pressure and permanently stabilize them in place. They can also straighten walls over time by tightening the anchors during dry seasons.

WaterGuard was installed under the concrete floors along the foundation wall. WaterGuard is situated on top of the footing to keep it free from silt and plant roots as it collects water from the foundation floors and walls and drains it to the sump pump.

The Twin Pack was installed to accept the intruding water and pump it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The Twin Pack contains two powerful cast-iron pumps to protect the basement from water, even in heavy downpours.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards prevent water from getting back into the basement in the event that the lines become frozen by giving water an alternative escape route through its slotted openings.

Jolene B. is relieved now that her foundation walls are safe and secure and her basement will remain dry.

De Soto Home Moist No More

Joe is a homeowner in De Soto. In 2013, fed up with his wet basement, he made a life-changing (or at least home-changing) decision: he called Woods Basement Systems!

Today, his basement looks and feels drier, cleaner, and healthier. Why? It's a three-part answer. Part one is the WaterGuard, a drainage system running the perimeter of the basement floor. WaterGuard rests atop the concrete footing rather than in mud; it will not ever clog!

Part two is the TripleSafe, the surest choice among all sump pumps. This patented system collects water from the WaterGuard and pumps it out to a LawnScape Outlet, where the water is drained safely away from Joe's home. TripleSafe has a second pump to put the mind at ease and a back-up battery for when the power goes out.

Last but not least, Joe purchased three beautiful SunHouse Window Wells. Not only do they brighten up his basement, but these waterproof wells protect your basement window from the elements, dirt, and debris.

Joe took advantage of Woods' free home inspection, and so can you. Our certified specialists will be able to describe your exact basement issue and recommend a plan for repair. Keep your basement dry the Woods way!
