Support blocks were sinking in a crawlspace in Irvington, IL, causing the support beams to shift. To solve these issues, the SmartJack System was installed. This will stabilize the beams and floor joists in the crawlspace and lift the floor above it back toward its original elevation. Floor bounce caused by weakened joists or excessive spans will also be reduced. This crawlspace will remain stable and secure for years to come!

Water was coming down a basement wall in Irvington, IL, causing damage. To solve this issue, the BrightWall Paneling System was first installed. This bright, clean, and durable wall system will prevent water vapor from permeating the basement walls and drain any wall leaks to the WaterGuard System, which was also installed to catch this water and drain it toward the sump pump to be pumped out of the house. Thanks to these systems, this basement will now stay dry all the time!

Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Job Stories From Irvington, IL
Sump Pump Beneath the Carpet

Christine S. of Irvington, IL. needed a new sump pump in her basement, but she didn't want to tear up her carpet to accomodate one.

Dave P. was not only able to install a sump pump for her, but he was able to hide it away beneath the carpet like Christine wished. The UltraSump that Dave installed features a sturdy sump liner and lid, so the carpet is not dangling dangerously over an open pit of water. In fact, the UltraSump lid is water-tight, so no water or water vapor can escape to damage the carpet above.

Christine S. now has a powerful sump pump system with minimal disruption or danger to her carpet.

Sam of Irvington, Illinois noticed that his foundation was settling due to the cracks and movement of his walls. Sam reached out to Woods Basement Systems to find a permanent solution for his settlement. Our team inspected the foundation and gave the recommendation of push piers as a long-term solution.

Team Woods installed the push piers around the home to lift the house back into place. Push piers are steel rods that drive into brackets to secure the existing footing. Sam was so pleased with the work conducted by Team Woods and is thankful to have a safe, stable home.

Basement Waterproofed in Irvington, IL

When Ron M noticed that there was water standing in his basement, he knew he needed to do something. So, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Bruce S was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

A WaterGuard and an IceGuard were installed in Ron’s basement. The WaterGuard will drain away water from the basement. The IceGuard acts as a secondary discharge line and will expel water in the event that the discharge line clogs or freezes.

Encapsulated Crawlspace with Floor Leveling in Irvington, IL

Irvington, IL was many home with crawl spaces.  During rain events, water will get into crawlspaces.  Wet soil in a crawl space can cause serious issues espicially with the wood beams and wood sub-floor above the dirt crawlspace floor. The floors above the crawlspace may sag or become uneven due to the moisture evaporating and getting absorbed by the wood as well as settling of the columns that held up the beams. Woods Basement Systems provides free estimates to repair these problems. In this case, Design Specialist Brenton K. inspected a crawlspace in Irvington and determined the best solution would be to install a supplemental support system and encapsulate the crawlspace.

Woods installed SmartJacks. SmartJacks are supplemental steel columns that are held in place by concrete footings in the crawlspace floors and connected to the beams and floor joists above. They are tightened into place to stabilize the beams and can potentially lift the floors above.

To encapsulate the crawlspace, Woods installed CleanSpace Vapor Barrier along the walls and floors of the crawlspace. CleanSpace is a durable, thick plastic liner that prevents water and pests from entering the crawlspace. Drainage matting was installed along the floors underneath the CleanSpace. Its dimpled design provides channels for standing water in the crawlspace to disperse the the drainage system around the perimeter of the crawlspace.

SmartPipe was installed around the perimeter of the crawlspace against the foundation walls and in the dirt floors. It has five rows of holes covered in special filter fabric to collect water from the top of the dirt floors without becoming clogged by mud as well as larger holes on the back to accept water coming from the crawlspace walls. It then drains the water to the sump pump. The SmartSump pump was installed because it is specifically designed to work with the CleanSpace vapor barrier. It contains a powerful cast iron pump which will evacuate the unwanted water out of the crawlspace through its discharge line. On the exterior of the crawlspace, an IceGuard was installed on the discharge line. If the discharge line becomes frozen or clogged, it escapes the the holes in the IceGuard so it doesn’t come back into the crawlspace.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed on the inside of the crawlspace too.  It will lower any humidity that may still get into the crawlsapce from outside or from above from the living space.  It helps prevents mold growth, from moisture getting to the wood that may cause rot and musty smells in the crawlspace by keeping the relative humidity low within the crawlspace.

A dry crawlspace is now a usable, dry storage space and with stable floors.

WaterGuard, TwinPack and IceGuard in Irvington, Illinois

Ron M. of Irvington, Illinois was troubled by water leaking into his basement where the floor meets the wall. The water risked damaging his valuables. A Woods Basement Systems system design specialist designed a solution.

WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system, was installed. WaterGuard collects and guides water to the TwinPack sump pump system. TwinPack is equipped with two pumps to ensure the basement stays dry. In addition to WaterGuard and TwinPack, IceGuard was installed. IceGuard provides an exit for water in the event that the discharge lines become frozen or clogged.
