CleanSpace Wall Systems creates a vapor barrier over uneven surfaces like brick and prevents water from moisture from seeping into the basement. It guides the unwanted water from the walls down to the WaterGuard drainage system. WaterGuard is installed under the concrete of the basement floors, on top of the footing of the home, in a position where it won’t become clogged by mud and can drain the water it catches from the wall and wall joints to the sump pump.
A TripleSafe Sump Pump was also installed. The TripleSafe is made up of a primary pump, secondary pump and battery back up pump. Each pump sits at a different level within the liner so if the primary pump is unable to keep up with the rising water, the secondary pump kicks into action and the battery back up pump ensures the basement is protected even in the event of a power outage. The TripleSafe Sump Pump pumps the water out of its discharge lines into the yard. IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. Linda S. of Litchfield, IL had a stone block foundation that was covered in cracks. There were long horizontal cracks that spanned the foundation walls along where they were bowing their worst. There were vertical cracks in certain parts of the foundation floors, walls and stair step cracks near the corners of the basement. Linda was worried about the structural safety of her home so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing foundation underpinning and foundation wall support systems.
Along two of the bowing, cracked walls, Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors permanently stabilize walls in place and prevent future damage by counteracting external soil pressure. To do this, Woods connected steel wall plates on the inside of the walls to earth anchors embedded in the yard using galvanized steel anchor rods. The wall can also be straightened over time by tightening the anchor rods when soil conditions are dry.
On one wall, where landscaping on the outside of the home prevented excavation, Woods installed PowerBraces. PowerBraces are adjustable steel beams held firmly against the wall using heavy duty steel brackets attached to the floor joists and cement floors of the basement. It halts further progression of the wall and stabilizes it in place while also offering the opportunity to improve the wall’s condition by tightening it during dry periods.
Woods installed Push Piers on the inside of the home to address the underlying issue of foundation settlement that caused the vertical cracks. High-strength steel pier segments are hydraulically driven through the earth to load-bearing soil conditions or bedrock. They are attached to steel brackets on the concrete footing of the home so that the weight of the structure is transferred through the piers to the stable soil or bedrock. They can also lift and left the home to a more structurally sound position in most cases.
Linda has peace of mind that her foundation and home are safe and secure and her walls are permanently stabilized.

The TripleSafe was installed to take the water collected by the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through the discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains three pumps: a primary, a secondary, and a battery back up pump. It provides multiple levels of protection flood waters during severe weather and power outages.
IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards have slotted openings designed to allow water to escape into the yard if the lines become frozen during cold winter months, preventing the water from getting back into the basement.
Raymond B. is relieved that he won’t have to clean up messes every time the forecast calls for rain because his basement will stay dry.

Joan, a Mehlville, MO homeowner, developed new problems with a wet basement years after having a Woods Basement Systems sump pump installed. She gave Woods a call and System Design Specialist Clint W. went out to her home. He discovered the new problem was from water pooling around the sill plate outside the home. He developed a plan to return Joan's dry basement.
Foreman Greg H. and his crew installed a sill plate drainage system that lead to an exterior sump pump.
The sill plate is the wood beam between the floor joist and foundation wall. Since there is a gap here, it becomes an area water likes to enter the basement. This can usually be solved by having the landscaping level begin below this level. However, sometimes that is not possible.
In these cases, we will dig a 12-18" trench in the problem area. We line this trench with vapor barrier and place sill plate drainage in the bottom. The capor barrier makes the water enter the pipe instead of seeping down and causing problems at the base of the foundation. These pipes are connected to a pipe the redeposits the water downhill from the home. In cases that the discharge pipe cannot be run far enough from the house, a sump pump can be put in place to force the water away.
Joan can now enjoy a dry home and has peace of mind Woods is always there for her.

Paula wanted a solution to stop water leaks from affecting the health of her basement and leaned on Woods Basement Systems for a solution. She worked with system design specialist, Chris T., to develop a plan to waterproof her basement. After going over the plan, it was decided that a TripleSafe sump pump along with WaterGuard drains would be installed.
The home previously didn't have a sump pump, so this was first on the list of needs. A sump pump is a system that pumps water leaks out of the home. A TripleSafe sump pump was selected due to its dependability. This system contains three pumps with one primary pump and two backup pumps. If the primary pump ever fails, the system will switch to one of the battery-operated backup pumps.
The WaterGuard drainage system was installed next in the footing of the basement walls. These are used to collect the pesky water leaks and direct them to the TripleSafe pump. WaterGuards stop water leaks at the source before they can create water damage in the basement. With the help of Woods' top waterproofing products, this basement is ready to take on any water leak!
Mark of Witt, Illinois wanted to add new baseboards to his finished basement to seal his walls. He decided it was time to give Woods Basement Systems a call to schedule an appointment. Brenton K., a system design specialist at Woods Basement Systems, worked with Mark to design a customized plan of his basement adding the baseboards.
Team Woods installed the baseboards onto the lower half of the basement walls. Baseboards are used to cover the joists where the walls met the floor. Basement baseboards will give the finished basement a sealed, modern look that will transform the space. With the teamwork and combined effort by Team Woods, Mark now can enjoy his beautiful basement with a fresh new look.
Joel D. of Waggoner, Illinois was interested in renovating an old, deteriorating property of his. Before anything else could be done, the badly deteriorated, poorly supported floor joists had to be addressed. Needing the job done quickly and correctly, Joel gave Woods Basement Systems a call.
In order to lift and support those joists, foreman Juan and his team installed several Smart Jacks. These supports, capable of holding over 60,000 pounds each, were put in place directly underneath the floor joists to lift and support them. With the floors now supported, Joel can begin further renovations.
Wayne of Vienna, Illinois reached out to Woods Basement Systems to look over his crawl space after he noticed that water had leaked inside. System design specialist, Blake R., looked over the area and saw that the tarp that the homeowner currently had wasn't keeping out water leaks. Blake recommended installing a CleanSpace vapor barrier system onto the walls and floor to completely seal the crawl space from water damage.
A CleanSpace vapor barrier system is unlike any other because this system is made out of inorganic materials. This means that if water were to leak inside, no mold would be able to develop. The barrier system will also keep out water leaks by repelling the water.
Head foreman on the job, Chris S., worked along with this team to install the CleanSpace system onto the walls and floor of the crawl space. Now that the CleanSpace vapor barrier has been installed into this previously wet and musty crawl space, Wayne now can enjoy his home again!
A homeowner from Litchfield, Illinois reached out to Woods Basement Systems after running into several water leaks in his basement. He needed a solution, and fast! The homeowner wanted to have a professional's opinion on an optimal solution. Chris T., who is a system design specialist, came out to the house to see what would solve the water issue. Upon inspection, Chris recommended installing a drainage system called WaterGuard and a TripleSafe sump pump.
Team Woods installed the new WaterGuard drainage system throughout the entire basement. These drains are installed in the footing of the basement to collect and direct water leaks towards the sump pump. The new TripleSafe sump pump will take the collected water and pump it back outside. With the help of these two products, this home will be safe and dry for many more years to come!
Lisa D. of Nokomis, Illinois called Woods Basement Systems to help with her concrete driveway. Over the years, much of the underlying soil had been washed away by rain, causing the slabs to sink and crack under their own weight. This damage was both unsightly and dangerous, and Lisa was eager to have it taken care of as quickly as possible.
In order to repair the driveway, foreman Mason and his team used PolyLevel. This expanding composite foam was injected underneath the damaged slabs through tiny holes in the surface to lift and level them. Because of the quick-drying properties of PolyLevel, the driveway was set and ready to be driven on in just 30 minutes!
Wyn N. of Litchfield, Illinois was sick and tired of dealing with her his basement sump pump. It was dirty, loud, and it simply did not do its job correctly. Because it didn't work, rainwater would constantly pool on the basement floor, requiring constant cleanup. Wyn was finally ready to have the problem taken care of, so he gave Woods Basement Systems a call.
In order to effectively waterproof the space, foreman Malik and his team first had to remove the old sump pit. After this, they installed a brand new TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe comes equipped with three separate pumps, including a battery backup, and is capable of removing well over 10,000 gallons of water per hour. Wyn is thrilled with the upgrade!
Harvel, Illinois homeowner Shannon M. was troubled by water pooling in her basement. The water leaked in where the floor meets the wall, a common occurrence. Tired of having a wet basement, she called Woods Basement Systems. Bill C., System Design Specialist, visited Shannon's home and designed a solution.
Foreman Bradley M. installed WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system that collects and guides water away from the basement. With this patented solution, Shannon can have peace of mind knowing her basement will stay dry.
One of the most harmful things to enter a crawlspace is water vapor. This water vapor will condense on the cooler surfaces in the crawlspace, like the walls or the floor joists that make up the ceiling. Once inside, water vapor damages the surfaces and fuels rampant mold growth. This mold and water damage can wreak havoc on floors above the crawlspace as they weaken the joists. This could lead to sagging or bouncing floors which would result in costly repairs.
It is easier instead to block the water vapor from entering the crawlspace. One way water vapor enters the crawlspace is through the dirt floors. The owners of this crawlspace have taken measures against that by placing waterproof tarps down across the floor. While this isn't a product specifically designed to protect crawlspaces like CleanSpace™ it is definitely a step in the right direction and a good idea. But the homeowners didn't block water vapor from entering through the windows! Humid air will be drawn into the crawlspace and bring water with it. This humid air will feed mold growth and cause the crawlspace to fill with damp, uncomfortable air.
By blocking the windows in the crawlspace, the homeowners would be able to protect the crawlspace from water vapor present in humid air. Not only will this help stop mold growth and protect the longevity of the home, but it can also lower heating and cooling costs as the crawlspace can be insulated and the drier air can be conditioned properly.
