This was important to her because water damage can be extremely damaging to health and well being of a home.

To keep water out of this basement, Team Woods installed a new TripleSafe sump pump and BrightWall panels. The head foreman of this job was Chris S. who led his team to finish this project as quickly and efficiently as possible. With the help of the new TripleSafe sump pump, if water leaks in it will then be pumped back out. The BrightWall panels will serve as a vapor barrier and will maintain the cleanliness of the walls. Thanks to these two waterproofing products, Rita now can rest easy knowing her home is safe and dry.

Bernadine of Mulkeytown, Illinois was tired of dealing with water leaking through her concrete-block basement wall during periods of rain. She wanted her basement waterproofed, so she called the experts, Woods Basement Systems. 

Melvin F., foreman, and his team installed two waterproofing measures to ensure Bernadine would no longer have to worry about leaks. The first was the WaterGuard system, a gutter-like fixture that is placed underneath the floor at the base of the walls to catch any and all leaks before they make it onto the floor. A TwinPack sump pump, equipped with two individually operating pumps, was then installed to pump away the water that is caught by the WaterGuard system as well as any additional leaks that may make it into the space. Bernadine no longer needs to worry about water!

Carl of Mulkeytown, Illinois wanted to prevent further cracking and shifting of his foundation with the help of Team Woods. Team Woods investigated the space and recommended installing Geo-Lock wall anchors to resolve the problematic walls by preventing movement. A Woods' specialist worked alongside Carl to design a personalized plan tailored to his basement. 

Geo-Lock wall anchors are used as a permanent solution to restore a settled, damaged wall. These anchors pull the wall back into its original position by installing the anchors in the soil outside of the home. By installing the anchors outside, the anchors will slowly pull the wall back into a stable position because of the strength of the anchors. With the help of Team Woods, Carl now has a safe and sturdy basement that he can use!

Carl S. from Mulkeytown, IL was having problems with bending and bowing basement walls. Over time, this can occur as a result of one of three common causes. A Woods Basement Systems team member visited the home and determined that Geo-Lock Wall Anchors would be the appropriate solution. With Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, the home is permanently stabilized. The goal is for the walls to eventually straighten out as time passes.

Frank V was concerned when he noticed that his basement walls were beginning to bow. So, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Jeremy K was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Jeremy R installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor and CleanSpace Drainage Matting. The CleanSpace is a heavy plastic that will line the walls of the basement, and prevent access moisture from getting in. The Wall Anchor has two ends one will attach to a stable level of soil away from the house, the other end will attach to the basement walls. The device can be tightened and over time will straighten the walls.

Frank V. of Mulkeytown, IL had bowing foundation and ledge walls. Cracks had formed along the walls where the bowing was the worst. His basement was also leaking water and the cracks had allowed even more water to get in so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Jeremy K. thoroughly inspected the basement and found that the best solution would be wall support and waterproofing systems.

Woods installed Geo-Lock Anchors along the bowing, cracked walls. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors permanently stabilize foundation walls by counteracting external soil pressure. To do this, earth anchors embedded in more stable soil conditions away from the foundation are connected to steel wall plates on the inside of the walls using galvanized steel anchor rods. The anchors can also be tightened during dry periods to straighten and improve walls over time.

In an area of the wall where the yard wasn’t accessible for Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, a PowerBrace was installed. The PowerBrace is an adjustable zinc-plated steel beam that is fit tightly against the wall and secured in place by steel brackets attached to the concrete floor and floor joists. They prevent future damage to the wall and, like the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, improve the walls by adjusting the beam during dry periods.

Drainage matting was installed on top of the ledge walls to give water channels to go over the ledge and down to the drainage system. Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation and ledge walls. CleanSpace is a thick plastic moisture barrier. It prevents moisture from entering the basement and guides it down to the drainage system. It also gives the basement a much brighter, cleaner appearance.

WaterGuard was installed under the cement floors of the basement. Its a drainage system sits out of the way of mud that might clog it as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to take the water collected by the WaterGuard and eject it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe consists of three pumps, including a battery back up pump, to keep the basement dry even when severe weather hits or there’s a power outage. IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. The IceGuards slotted openings prevent water from getting back into the home in the event that the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed, as well. The SaniDry is energy efficient but powerful; it can remove 109 pints of water a day from basement air while using the same amount of electricity as a regular household dehumidifier. By keeping the relative humidity low, the SaniDry helps prevent conditions that foster mold growth as well as musty smells.

Frank V. is relieved now that his foundation walls are safe and secure and his basement will remain dry even in heavy downpours.
