The area had major leaks and subsequent moisture issues that had already required her to replace several rotted floor supports. She also had problems with bugs and insects living in the space and making unwanted visits inside her home.
Brett J., Woods Basement Systems foreman, installed a CleanSpace encapsulation system over the dirt floor to seal up the space from the ground and moisture (and bugs!) and to give the space a nice, clean appearance. He also put in a SmartSump sump pump system with an additional UltraSump batterery backup to remove any groundwater seepage and other leaks. Finally, to keep the wood safe and to prevent any mold from forming, a Sanidry dehumidifier was put in place to keep the air in the space dry.
Homeowners Michael and Debbie were tired of their basement constantly flooding during periods of heavy rain. All too often, their space would be filled with over an inch of water, ruining clothing and other possessions. All of this made their basement almost unusable for anything other than a junk room.
Tyler S., Woods Basement Systems foreman, and his team put in place several patented waterproofing measures to make sure that the basement would stay dry no matter what. The first of these was the WaterGuard system, installed underneath the concrete where the floor meets the wall. This piping system collects any and all water that comes down the walls or through the floor and keeps it out of the living space. It then directs that water to the other product that was installed, the TwinPak sump pump. The TwinPak comes equipped with two pumps: one that normally does the bulk of the work and a second pump that kicks on if the first manages to get overwhelmed.
With these new products installed in their basement, Michael and Debbie will never need to worry about flooding again!
