Effective Concrete Leveling & Concrete Sealing

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Job Stories From Saint Francois County, MO
Waterproofing in Farmington, MO

Waterproofing in Farmington, MO

This week, Christi W. had Woods Basement Systems come out and waterproof her basement which had the problem with water coming through the walls and under the floor and migrating to the low pockets of her foundation floor.  She called Woods and addressed her concerns for what she wanted to do and what questions we could answer. In order to address her issues, Woods sent out a specialist to inspect her basement and give his professional opinion. Christi went ahead and purchased the BrightWall covering system as well as the WaterGuard drainage system with an inspection port. The WaterGuard system would drain any water coming from the walls as well as under the foundation and send it straight to her sump pump.  This would then be directed outside of the home. The BrightWall would cover up the walls to both brighten the entire basement and keep the water behind it, leading it to the WaterGuard System.

The WaterGuard was place into a trench along the footing of the wall. This prevents any kind of clogging that could arise later on down the road. Once the WaterGuard is in place and ready to go, concrete is then placed on top to seal it up under the floor and make the trench flat.  BrightWall is rolled out and placed on the walls to hide any of the water stains that have been there as well as lead any water to the drainage system. The BrightWall will also brighten the entire basement.  With everything working properly and water being redirected to go to the sump pump instead of on the floor; Chrisi is very happy and looking forward to storing her stuff in her basement once more.  If you know anymore or are looking to have your basement inspected, give us a call for an inspection here at Woods Basement System located in Collinsville, IL.

Woods installed WaterGuard to help drain water out of the basement. WaterGuard is installed against the wall in the concrete of the floor. The water will flow into the WaterGuard, allowing the piping to lead the water out of the basement.

A Twin Pack sump pump was installed to evacuate unwanted water. The sump pump will pump the water out through a discharge line that leads the water to the yard. This line can become clogged or frozen at times, in order to prevent the water from receding back into the basement, Woods installed IceGuard. Basement Waterproofed in Gifford, IL

Linda and Peter G. had major water issues in the partially finished basement of their Gifford, IL home. The belongings they stored in their basement were repeatedly getting water damage whenever it rained. They’d had a sump pump installed by a different company but it wasn’t working and they still had to clean up their basement when bad weather hit so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Greg B. inspected their basement and recommended installing a waterproofing system.

WaterGuard was installed along the perimeter of the basement, under the the concrete floors. WaterGuard is a drainage system that collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it away to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe sump pump system was installed. It contains three pumps: two powerful, cast-iron pumps and a battery back up pump. The TripleSafe ensures that, even in bad weather or a power outage, water will continue to be pumped out and away from the basement through the discharge lines. On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. The IceGuards prevent water from coming back into the basement if the lines become frozen or clogged by allowing it to escape through slotted openings.

Linda and Peter G. are thrilled they won’t have to clean up messes anymore because their basement will stay dry even when it’s storming.

Foundation Walls Permanently Stabilized in Bonne Terre, MO

Jackie and Bill B. of Bonne Terre, MO had a foundation wall that was bowing inward to an alarming degree. There was a long crack that spanned the entire wall along where the bowing was the most severe. Water had been getting in through the crack and damaging the drywall and staining the foundation walls. They were worried about the wall becoming an even bigger problem in the future so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Kevin E. found that the best solution would be installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the walls. They permanently stabilize the wall by counteracting the external pressure that’s causing the wall to fail. Earth anchors that have been embedded in stable soil in the yard are connected to wall plates on the inside of the wall using steel anchor rods. The rods are tightened and the walls are held firmly in place and can even be straightened in most cases.

Over the cracked wall, CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed. CleanSpace is a thick, durable plastic barrier that can be installed over rough or uneven walls. It prevents moisture from entering the basement.

Jackie and Bill B. have peace of mind because their walls are now stable and secure.

Driveway and Walkway Leveled in Brownstown, IL

The concrete driveway and walkway of Kurt K.’s Brownstone, IL home were uneven. Some of the concrete slabs in the driveway and walkway were sinking which caused them to pull away from the house and were no longer level with the other slabs, creating tripping hazards. Kurt didn’t want to deal with replacing his driveway and walkway so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended PolyLevel.

PolyLevel was injected under the concrete slabs of the walkway and driveway. It’s an expanding polymer foam that lifts and levels the concrete. It cures quickly so the concrete driveway and walkway can be used in about 15 minutes, meaning far less downtime than with traditional mudjacking. It’s also waterproof when it cures so it won’t be washed away.

Kurt is glad he can use his concrete walkway and driveway without worrying about tripping.

Waterproofing in Dexter, MO Basement

Rhonda C. of Dexter, Missouri noticed that water was entering her home's basement. She did not want to have to clean up a mess after every heavy rain storm, so she called Woods Basement Systems for help.

Design specialist Brandon B. assessed the situation and decided that the best solution was to install a TripleSafe sump pump, a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier, a CleanSpace wall system, and a Waterguard drainage system. Foreman Melvin F. then traveled to the home to get the job started.

The CleanSpace wall system is a plastic liner that was attached to the walls of the basement. It acts as a vapor barrier and drains any leaks that may occur behind it. The Waterguard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement. It collects and drains any water coming up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. The TripleSafe sump pump is equipped with a primary, secondary, and battery powered pump. The sump pump removes water from the basement through a discharge line. Finally, the Sanidry Sedona is a lightweight dehumidifier that not only removes water vapor, but also filters the air for mold spores, pollen, dust, and other allergens.

Rhonda C. no longer has to worry about her home's basement flooding. She now has a dry and waterproof home.

Radon Mitigation Installed in Bonne Terre, MO

Homeowner Henry L. of Bonne Terre, MO did a radon test on his home. After seeing that the results were above a dangerous level of 4.0 picocuries (pCi/L) she gave Woods Basement System a call. Our system design specialist, Ryan K. headed to Bonne Terre to discuss with the homeowner a design he created that would resolve the issue.

Foreman Brett J. did a Radon Mitigation system installation on the home. Many homeowners are not aware of the danger of high radon levels in their home or that radon even exists. Radon is a toxic gas that cannot be seen, smelled, or tasted. Exposure to high levels of radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for nonsmokers. The Radon Mitigation system is designed to reduce radon levels to a healthy amount. This system consists of a PVC pipe that runs around the home collecting the toxic gas. A radon depressurization then pipes the radon gas away from the home.

Henry L. is now at ease knowing his home is below 4.0 pCi/L because of the Radon Mitigation system.

Basement Waterproofing and Wall Anchors in Waverly, IL

Karen L. of Waverly, Illinois noticed that a few walls in her home's basement were bowing and cracking. She was also having issues with water entering her home. She did not want to have to keep worrying about these problems, so she called Woods Basement Systems for help.

Because the team is specially trained, foreman Matthew A. took care of the wall anchors, while foreman Troy W. was responsible for the waterproofing.

The wall anchors extend from the inside walls of the home to the hard packed soil outside. They help stabilize and prevent further movement of the wall. DryTrak is installed on top of the basement floor and drains water coming through the foundation walls. Finally, the TripleSafe sump pump removes water from the home through a discharge line. It is equipped with a primary, secondary, and battery powered pump.

Karen L. no longer has to worry about a wet basement or bowing walls. She now has stable basement walls and a waterproof home.

PowerBrace and Wall Anchor Installation in Bonne Terre, MO

Colin R. of Bonne Terre, Missouri noticed that a few walls in his home's basement were bowing and cracking. He did not want the problem to continue to get worse, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.

Design specialist Brian H. assessed the situation and decided the best solution was to install some PowerBraces and Wall Anchors. Foreman Jeremy R. then headed to the home to get the job started.

PowerBraces consist of steel I-beams that are fastened to the joists above the wall. They are adjustable, so they can be tightened to help straighten and stabilize the walls. Wall anchors, also made of steel, extend from the inside walls of the basement to the hard packed soil outside. They help stabilize and prevent further movement of the walls.

Push Piers Close Brick Wall Cracks in Farmington, Missouri Home

Farmingotn, Missouri homeowner Van called Woods Basement Systems a call about cracks in his poured concrete foundation that lead into his brick exterior walls. System Design Specialist Jeremy R. planned a Push Pier system that would give Van's house the support it needed.

Foreman Miguel O. and his crew installed Push Piers. Push Piers were the perfect solution because they could be installed in the Feburary snow. Push Piers are a steel rod that is drilled to the bedrock under the foundation. This transfers the weight of the structure from the soil to the rods. Since they are installed at a higher pressure than the house will present, we know our Push Pier will hold up to the job.

Van can rest easy knowing his home will not continue to crack.

WaterGuard and TripleSafe Installed in Collinsville, IL Basement

Collinsville, Illinois homeowner Steve noticed that the tile in his basement was usually wet. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Chris T. developed the perfect solution to create a dry basement.

Foreman Kevin J. and his crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and linked it to a TripleSafe sump pump.

This is one of our stongest combinations to combat a wet basement. The WaterGuard is specially designed to not clog by only collecting water. It can collect water from beneath it, behind it, and coming down the walls. These are the main ways water can enter the basement becuase the gaps that are left when the foundation, floor, and footing are poured.

The WaterGuard directs water to the TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe sump pump is a series of three pumps including a battery operated back up pump, to guarentee even in high rains, plumbing breaks, and power oiutages youare covered.

Steve now knows he will have dry floors when he goes downstairs.

CleanSpace Added to Bonne Terre, MO Basement to Decrease Humidity

Joe and Jill, are homeowners in Bonne Terre, Missouri. They were experiencing a very humid basement that was beginning to develop a smell. They had worked with Woods Basement System before, so they gave us a  call back to see how we could help. System Design Specialist Bill C. developed a plan to help their humid basement.

Foreman Kevin J. and his crew installed CleanSpace along the basement walls and WaterGuard along the perimeter. Adding CleanSpace to basement walls creates a vapor barrier the traps water vapor from the porous surface in. Instead of then making all the air humid, the vapor is caught behind the barrier where it condenses and drains into the WaterGuard.

The CleanSpace goes into the top of the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard will collect the water coming down the wall and from below and behind it. It will redirect this collected water to a sump pump where it is removed from the basement and away from the home.

A drier basement will be less likely to smell because mold spores, dust mites, and other allergens will not be able to live in the dry environment. Joe and Jill will be able to breathe easier now.

Push Piers Installed in Bonne Terre, MO

Kristy, a Bonne Terre, Missouri homeowner, noticed cracks in the exterior walls of her home. She gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Jeremy R. developed the perfect plan for her.

Foreman Miguel O. and his crew came out and installed Push Piers around Kristy's home. Push Piers are the perfect solution to a settling structure because they take the weight of the structure from the moving soil and transfer it to solid bedrock. This provides the resistance the home needs to no longer settle. Over time this should close the gaps in her home.

Kristy can now enjoy her stable home for decades to come.

Waterproofing in Farmington, Missouri

Karen of Farmington, Missouri had a crack in a basement wall which caused water to leak in. She decided to call Woods Basement systems and systems design specialist, Pete L. found a solution. He recommended installing a TripleSafe pump, CleanSpace, and WaterGuard.

The TripleSafe pump guarantees to keep your basement or crawl space dry with its three-in-one design including a primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery-powered backup pump. CleanSpace is a vapor barrier made of inorganic materials which makes in not susceptible to mold growth. It works to collect water that seeps through basement walls. The WaterGuard takes the water that the CleanSpace collects and guides it to the sump pump where it can be removed from the home.

Now Karen C. can sleep easy, knowing her basement is dry.

Waterproofing in Farmington, Missouri

Jacob B. of Farmington, Missouri needed preventative waterproofing work done so he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. Systems design specialist, Brian S. recommended installing a TripleSafe sump pump, WaterGuard, and IceGuard.

Foreman, Greg H. installed the products. The TripleSafe sump pump can protect your home from leaks in three ways: with  primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery-powered backup pump. The WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the basement floor in order for it to collect water that seeps through the walls. It then takes that collected water and guides it to the sump pump to be removed from the home. IceGuard is placed on the outside of the home and prevents water from backing up into the basement by allowing water to expel from the guards in a situation where pipes might freeze or clog in the winter months.

Now Jacob B. has a dry basement.

Servicing a TripleSafeā„¢ System

The owners of this home in Bonne Terre, MO. had previously hired Woods Basement Systems to install their specially designed TripleSafe™ sump pump system to keep their basement dry and protected.

The TripleSafe™ is more than just a sump pump, it is a carefully designed waterproofing system, featuring not just one sump pump, but three. The main pump is equal in power to the standard sump pump that many homes have installed during construction. A second, slightly more powerful pump can kick in to assist the first sump pump if water levels rise higher than what that one pump can deal with. A basement with a single sump pump would be at flood risk by the time the second pump in the TripleSafe™ kicks in. A third pump, which is battery-powered, can kick in as well if water levels continue to rise past the point where the first two pumps can handle everything. Since it uses battery power, the third pump can also turn on when the power goes out and normal sump pumps can't work. All three pumps are installed in a single sump pit liner, which features an air-tight lid to prevent any water in the pit from evaporating into the air. The lid also features a special floor drain and an alarm that can alert homeowners to dangerously high water levels in the sump pit.

Recently, the homewoners scheduled an annual maintenance visit from their Woods Basement Systems professional. The technician was able to check that each of the three pumps was in working order and that all parts of the system, including the lid, alarm, battery and discharge lines were in good condition and that the system was performing to the best of its abilities. Had a pump not been working or another issue with the system arisen, the technician would be able to repair or replace that part during that same visit, ensuring that the home is always well protected against floods.

With the TripleSafe™ sump pump system, this home is protected against flooding throughout the toughest storms - even if the power goes out.

Encapsulating Bismark, Missouri Crawl Space

These homeowners were concerned about their crawl space. Like anyone with a crawl space, they have good reason to be concerned. Crawl spaces cause more issues than even we at Woods Basement Systems can count.

Air tends to travel up in homes. As air escapes from the upper parts of the house, it enters from lower areas like crawl spaces. Water itself usually isn't the perpetrator; water vapor promotes mold growth and dust mite activity.

To prevent these and other issues, Woods installed a CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. Now, the crawl space is clean, dry, and easy to maneuver around!
