Last week Joanne D. had Woods Basement Systems come out to fix her basement flooding problem so that she could have peace of mind whenever she went down there in the future. Joanne had contacted Woods in the past to have them come out and perform a free inspection of her basement. We sent out a specialist to take a look and they noticed immediately that there was definably water coming in as water was present on the floor and was traced back to the pored wall. Water was coming in from under the footer of the home and moving around the basement making everything down there wet. Are specialist address each of the steps that would be the best suitable for the problem to take care of it the right way and what products where going to be the best option for Joanne.
Coming to a decision, Joanne purchased the full Waterproofing treatment which included the TripleSafe Sump Pump System with exterior discharge line that would connect to the IceGuard System. The WaterGuard Sytsma and Inspection port were also included to help catch the water from coming into the basement. With all these systems working in complete harmony, Joanne wouldn’t have to worry about the water flooding her basement ever again. Woods Basement Systems sent out a production Crew lead by Forman Todd Wells to have the installation of these systems completed correctly. Once completed and running, any water that was still under the footing coming in was now being pumped out of the basement to the exterior of the home. Karl L. of St. Louis, Missouri was disappointed to find water had leaked into his unfinished basement. System design specialist Kevin E. designed a solution to both waterproof and beautify his basement.

TripleSafe is equipped with a pump, back-up pump and a battery-powered pump to ensure water stays out. IceGuard is designed to provide an exit for water in the event that discharge lines become frozen or clogged. This trio will keep Karl's basement dry all the time.
After the waterproofing, the EverLast Half-Wall system was installed. EverLast is an inorganic solution. MillCreek Flooring was also installed. Joanne, a homeowner in Anna, IL, has had work done by Woods Basement Systems before. When she was concerned there may be high radon levels in her home she knew just who to call. System Design Specialist Colin M. set up a radon test kit in her home, then developed the Radon Mitigation plan.
Foreman Michael P. and his crew installed the Radon Mitigation System through Joanne's home. Radon is naturally released from the soil around us. It is also the second leading cause of lung cancer, behind smoking. Outside radon is spread out through the moving air so it is not in harmful levels. Sometimes in our homes, because there is little air for it to disperse too, radon levels can build up. This is individual to homes, a neighbor testing low for radon does not mean your home is also low.
Radon Mitigation works by giving the air coming through the soil beneath the home a place to go. The Stack Effect pulls the air up through the house. By installing a set a pipes from the basement floor and redirecting them outside the house and to a safe area at the top of the home, we can change the path and disperse the radon. A fan is used to pull the high radon air into the piping system.
Joanne now knows her home is at safe levels so she can breath easy.
