Single sump pumps do not offer enough peace of mind if your home has a finished basement.  Also, the open lid lets water vapor out and the increased humidity can help mold to grow.  Our complete basement waterproofing system includes a WaterGuard® drainage system, TripleSafe® sump pump with sealed lid and battery backup pump. In this Oakville, Missouri home, we also installed the SaniDry® dehumidifier appliance, and BrightWall® giving the unfinished basement area a finished look, in addition to an IceGuard® discharge line and more.

This DuQuoin, Illinois basement was letting the dehumidifier (sitting on yellow crate) and basement floor drain protect it against leaks, which is not the way a proper waterproofing system works.  Our complete perimeter WaterGuard® system will drain any water leaking through the walls and floor cracks and the seepage from beneath the floor to a sump pump to help keep the basement dry!

Street creep causes a garage slab to force the rear wall of the garage foundation out.  The rear foundation wall either bows to the exterior like in the photo of this Sunset Hills, Missouri home, or inward into a basement; however, with limited damage, isolated to the 2nd picture shown, it could be determined that in this case it is a rebar crack.  Rebar that slips to the exterior of the concrete form when the foundation is being poured may later cause horizontal cracking like this.  Rebar cracks are more of a cosmetic repair than a structural damage issue.

A trick to help drain water from beneath the basement floor is to drill a large hole in the drain line of a floor drain, low enough to let water in from under the floor.  But if you are relying on that and do not also have a sump pump...ouch!  We retrofit our TripleSafe® sump pump system. After getting wet three times, this Lemay, Missouri homeowner didn't want that to happen ever again.  The TripleSafe® has three operating pumps, not all at the same time, and one is a battery backup pump for operating during a power outage, or if a breaker trips, water levels rise, or if one of the primary pump fails after years of being in service.

Dirt crawl spaces release moisture from the soil; and even if a vapor barrier is laid over the dirt floor, that moisture is released at the edges.  Now consider those humid days of summer and the outside vents around the crawl space.  The vents allow air flow into the crawl space so in the summer, humid air brings in more moisture into the crawl space.  Mold thrives when the right temperature and right moisture conditions combine.  Our CleanSpace® encapsulation system, including vent covers, helped solve this problem in this Shiloh, Illinois home.
