Down spouts and sump pump lines can freeze during the winter. Woods installed the patented Ice Guard sump pump discharge line system in this Maryland Heights, Missouri home. The Ice Guard System allows water to escape from a sump pump discharge line if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. Even if the pipe outlet is buried under a foot of ice and snow, the water can escape!

Cracks in foundation walls can be a sign that pressure from soil on the outside of the walls is causing them to weaken and bow. Woods recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the cracking walls. Wall plates on the inside of the walls were connected to earth anchors embedded in the yard by galvanized steel anchor rods. The anchors permanently stabilize the walls by counteracting the soil pressure. They prevent future wall damage and can straighten the walls over time by tightening the anchor rods during dry periods.

Soil pressure had severely damaged the block walls of Gene H.’s rental property in Maryland Heights. They were bowing inward to an alarming degree so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended Geo-Lock Channel Wall Anchors.

Geo-Lock Channel Wall Anchors are used when damage to the walls is very severe and they need to be straightened immediately to return structural integrity to the home. Woods removed soil from the outside of the wall to relieve the pressure as they connected long channel wall plates to earth anchors buried in the yard with steel anchor rods. The anchor rods were tightened to straighten the wall back to a more sound position and permanently stabilize the foundation walls. Geo-Lock Channel Anchors also prevent any future damage, like bowing and cracking, to the walls.
