This Red Bud, Illinois homeowner was trying to keep their basement dry with two sump pumps. When the second pedestal pump would have to kick on it would often dance around in the pump pit and deactivate the swich on the other pump. Our TripleSafe® sump pump pit holds up to three pumps. In this case only two pumps were installed to meet the homeowners needs. They especially liked that the second pump was elevated on a pump stand that held the pump in place and only activated the pump when there were high water levels in the sump pump pit.
Lanetta A. was surprised when she discovered water was entering her home's crawl space after big rain storms. She knew standing water could cause problems such as rotting and mold growth, so she called Woods Basement Systems.
Design specialist John S. assessed the problem and decided the best solution was to install a CleanSpace encapsulation system, a SmartPipe drainage system, a SmartSump sump pump, and a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier. Foreman James L. then headed to the home to start the job.
The CleanSpace encapsulation system was placed on the floors and up the walls of the crawl space. This heavy duty and durable liner acts as a vapor barrier and drains any leaks that might occur behind the CleanSpace.
Steve was looking to close on a home in Red Bud, Illinois. Before he could close, he had to find out if the wall damage in the basement was structural or cosmetic. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call. System Design Specialist Nolan M. determined the damage was structural bowing causing the cracks and developed a plan to solve the problem.
Foreman Mason S. and his crew installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to pull the wall back to its original position. Bowing walls are caused by the Earth and water around your home wanting to fill the hole that is your basement. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors use the Earth behind the active soil line to pull the wall back. A steel rod is driven through the wall into the soil. In the soil it is anchored to a steel anchor plate. On the interior a large steel anchor plate is used to distribute the pressure across a larger area. By tightening the rods slowly overtime, the cracks in the wall will close.
With the Wall Anchors in place, Steve was able to close on the home and become a homeowner in Red Bud.
Kim of Red Bud, Illinois wanted to waterproof her basement after years of accumulating water leaks on the floor. To solve this issue, WaterGuard drains were used to waterproof a space by collecting the leaking water and sending it to the sump pump to be discarded of. With the help of WaterGuard, now Kim can enjoy her basement knowing that the space will remain dry and clean for several years to come.
This Red Bud, Illinois couple had only recently finished their basement when they began to have water issues. During periods of rain, water would leak out from behind the drywall and pool on the floor. This moisture had already ruined portions of the drywall and damaged furniture and valuables. To waterproof the space, a Woods Basement Systems team installed WaterGuard drains underneath the floor at the base of the leaking walls. To do this, however; they had to rip out parts of the flooring and the drywall. These extra expenses could have been avoided if the couple had waterproofed BEFORE finishing!
