Janice E., Philo, Illinois homeowner, was troubled by her wet crawl space. The wet envrionment caused mold and dust mites to thrive. Due to the stack effect, these allergens entered her living space. System design specialist Greg B. designed a solution to keep her crawl space dry.

Foreman James L. installed the CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier, so it does not support mold growth as it prevents water from entering the crawlspace. With this system, Janice's crawl space will stay dry and mold-free.

Water kept getting into Janice E.’s crawl space of her Philo, IL home. It leaked into the crawlspace through the cement block foundation walls and made her crawl space completely unusable so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended encapsulating her crawl space.

CleanSpace was installed as part of the encapsulation system. It is a durable, thick plastic moisture barrier that is installed over the foundation walls and gravel floors of the crawl space. It prevents moisture from entering the crawlspace, instead directing it down to the perimeter drainage system. It contains an additive called UltraFresh that makes it mold resistant. It’s bright white so, besides giving the crawl space a much cleaner appearance, it maximizes available light.

Janice E. had a very wet crawl space in her Philo, IL home. Water leaked in through the foundation walls and gravel floors and made the crawl space very humid. The high humidity had begun to rot the wood floor joists above. Her store-bought dehumidifier did little to nothing to keep the relative humidity low and it was a chore to empty the collection tray every time it was full so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended a crawl space encapsulation system.  

Woods replaced the store-bought dehumidifier with the SaniDry dehumidifier as part of the encapsulation system. The SaniDry can remove up to 109 pints of water from the crawl space air per day while using the same amount of energy as the store-bought unit. It’s self-draining so no more hassle emptying a full collection tray. It keeps relative humidity low in the crawl space to prevent rot and conditions that foster mold growth.

JC was concerned about the walls bowing in the basement. So, they decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Gregory B was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Jeremy R Installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System, shown above, in JC’s basement. The device has two ends, one will attach to a stable level of soil away from the house. The other will attach to the basement walls, shown above. The device can be tightened and over time will straighten out the walls.
