Linda and Peter G. ad major water issues in the basement of their Gifford, IL home. Their belongings were getting water damaged every time it rained so they called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing a full perimeter waterproofing system.

As part of the waterproofing system, WaterGuard was installed under the concrete floors, as shown in the picture. WaterGuard is a drainage system that sits on the concrete footing of the basement so it won't become clogged by mud as it collects water from the foundation floors and walls and drains it away to the sump pump.

Also seen in the picture is a TrenchDrain. TrenchDrains are grated drainage pipes that sit flush with the floor and tie in to the WaterGuard system. They collect surface water that may get in through doors or stairs.

A basement wall was leaking in Gifford, IL, and this was causing issues because the water was pooling onto the floor. To solve this issue, the WaterGuard System was installed. These drainage pipes intercept water at the perimeter of the basement and drain it toward the sump pump system. This system has a design that will drain any wall seepage without allowing dirt and debris from the floor to enter and clog the pipes. Next, the TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed. This system assures protection from common problems with an ordinary pump. The TripleSafe can handle a heavy flow of water, thanks to a secondary pump included inside that will help eliminate the water if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water that is entering it. It also features a removable airtight lid which reduces noise, prevents objects from falling in, and keeps moisture, insects, and odor from coming out of the sump. This system also includes an UltraSump battery backup system which turns on if the power goes out and effectively pumps out the water. Thanks to these systems, this basement will remain dry and clean for years to come!

A concrete driveway was settling in Gifford, IL, causing the slabs to sink and form a large vertical crack. To solve this issue, the PolyLevel System was installed. This will stabilize, lift, and level the concrete slabs with high-strength polyurethane foam. Pea-sized holes were drilled into the concrete and the foam was injected to fill the void underneath. This installation technique allows the foam to expand as it cures, precisely lifting the slab back up. Additionally, NexusPro Joint Sealant was installed. A crawlspace in Oblong, Illinois, needed some new support piers installed. Insufficient substitutes were no longer offering the support that the crawlspace needed to stay functional. Woods came in and installed new support posts to address this issue. The SmartJack System consists of custom-cut steel beams. They are placed in galvanized fill to equally distribute the weight of the building. They can be tightened over time. This allows maintenance to be done as the ground continues to shift without requiring another costly install. With this system in place, homeowners can rest easy knowing their crawlspace will be stable for years to come.
