A dirt crawl space under a home can lead to unending problems. The earth has very high humidity in the soil. This water vapor moves easily into the crawl space and upwards into the house environment. Mold thrives and reproduces by producing airborne spores by the millions and some molds are toxic. Insects and critters of all kinds love the damp environment as well. The CleanSpace encapsulation system completely isolates your home from the earth. This dramatically reduces the humidity level in the air which, when combined with sealing outside air and dehumidification, will eliminate mold growth and rot from your crawl space and make the whole house a healthier environment.

Homeowner Kathleen S. noticed that her home in Collinsville, IL. was experiencing leaks that rose through the gap where the floor met the wall. When a home is constructed, a footing is poured and then a wall is and floor are poured seperately on top of the footing. This seperate pour leaves a small gap where water can rise into the home.
To combat leaks through this gap, installer Dwayne M. from Woods Basement Systems used WaterGuard™. WaterGuard™ is a perimeter drainage system that collects water before it can rise above the floor and carries it to the sump pump to be removed from the home. Because WaterGuard™ sits just beneath the floor, the water must pass through the system before it would be able to enter the basement.
The WaterGuard™ system drains into the sump pump so that the water it collects can be removed from the home. In this home, the sump pump was a TripleSafe™. The TripleSafe™ is a powerful sump pump system that uses three seperate pumps to expell water from the home at an incredible rate. One of the three pumps is also battery powered, meaning it can turn on when the other two can't to keep the basement dry and protected during power outages. The TripleSafe™ also features an air-tight lid that will prevent water from evaporating into the basement air and a WaterWatch™ alarm that can alert homeowners to dangerous water levels and even leaks coming from inside the home such as plumbing leaks.

Collinsville, Illinois homeowner Steve noticed that the tile in his basement was usually wet. He gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Chris T. developed the perfect solution to create a dry basement.
Foreman Kevin J. and his crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and linked it to a TripleSafe sump pump.
This is one of our stongest combinations to combat a wet basement. The WaterGuard is specially designed to not clog by only collecting water. It can collect water from beneath it, behind it, and coming down the walls. These are the main ways water can enter the basement becuase the gaps that are left when the foundation, floor, and footing are poured.
The WaterGuard directs water to the TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe sump pump is a series of three pumps including a battery operated back up pump, to guarentee even in high rains, plumbing breaks, and power oiutages youare covered.
Steve now knows he will have dry floors when he goes downstairs.

Homeowner David S. of Collinsville, IL became concerned about the stability of his home when he discovered his basement walls were bowing inward so he gave Woods Basement System a call.
System design specialist, Christoph H. did a inspection on the home and created a design that would ensure the homeowner stability. Foreman, Jeremy R. then did a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor installation. Basement walls begin to bow inward when the soil around the home starts to cause an intense amount of pressure that the walls can not handle. This system prevents further damage from happening and permanently stabilizes the home. The Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system also potentially straightens the wall over time.
David S. is now at peace knowing that his home stable.
Louise F. of Collinsville, Illinois noticed that water was entering her home's basement. She did not want to have to clean up a mess after every storm, so she called Woods Basement Systems for help.
Design specialist Nolan M. assessed the situation and decided the best solution was to install a Waterguard drainage system, a BrightWall paneling system, and a Twin Pack sump pump. Foreman Mason S. then traveled to the home to get the job started.
The Waterguard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement. It collects and removes any water rising from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. The BrightWall paneling system is fastened to the walls of the basement. It acts as a vapor barrier and drains any leaks that may occur behind it, all while brightening the basement. Finally, the Twin Pack sump pump is equipped with a primary and secondary pump. The sump pump removes water from the basement through a discharge line.

Brandon and Katrina V. of Collinsville, IL noticed that the concrete slabs in the driveway leading to their home were sinking and settling unevenly, causing cracks. Concrete settling happens naturally due to an accumulation of the weight of the concrete over time in addition to an accumulation of the weight of what the concrete is holding up, and does not always settle evenly. Aware of potential issues for the home, in addition to dangers such as tripping, they decided to call Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate.
Systems Design Specialist Matthew S. evaluated the situation and determined that the appropriate solution would be for foreman Andrew T. to install PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a foam injection that is installed in 4 simple steps and works to lift the concrete back to its original position and fill in cracks.

Weak basement floors are usually caused by the columns in the CrawlSpace being too spaced apart or beginning to settle too deep in the soil. The SmartJack uses a steel support system to secure and stabilize the floor joists which raises the basement floors to its original position.
Because of the SmartJack, not only does Kyle P. have leveled basement floors but restored property value of his home.

Alex S. of Collinsville, Illinois was shocked when he discovered that his home's crawl space was holding water. He knew that standing water could cause rotting or mold growth, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.
Design specialist Cody M. assessed the situation and decided the best solution was to fully waterproof the crawl space. Foreman Joshua B. then headed to the home to install a CleanSpace encapsulation system, a SmartPipe drainage system, a SmartSump sump pump, and a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier.
The CleanSpace encapsulation system is a durable liner that is placed on the floor and up the walls of the crawl space. It acts as a vapor barrier and completely seals the crawl space from the earth. The SmartPipe drainage system accepts water from both the soil and the surface of the crawl space. It then drains it to the sump pump. The Smart Sump is a sump pump made specifically for crawl spaces. It collects water and then pushes it outside of the crawl space. Finally, the Sanidry Sedona is a lightweight dehumidifier that can fit perfectly in crawl spaces. It not only removes water vapor from the air, but also filters the air for dust, mold spores, and other allergens.
Alex S. no longer has to worry about his home's crawl space collecting water or all the negative effects that come with it. He now has a dry and waterproof crawl space.

Lori H.’s Collinsville, IL home was uncomfortable. During hot summer months, it was difficult to keep her home cool. She had the same issue in the cold winter months and drafts made the situation even worse. She was paying higher energy bills due to the extra heating and cooling so she called Woods Basement Systems for a free energy audit. Design Specialist Peter N. inspected the home and recommended air sealing and insulating the attic.
Woods sealed areas of the attic where air typically escapes such as the rim joists, wiring penetrations, gaps in windows and doors and other holes or cracks. They use a two part spray foam that expands and hardens to prevent air from escaping and make the home more energy efficient.
Wood blew in cellulose insulation throughout the attic to blanket it in a thick insulating layer. Cellulose insulation is made of recycled newspaper that would have gone to a landfill. It’s treated with a natural boric acid solution that makes it resistant to fire and mold and deters insects. It has a high R-value which is the measure of a material’s resistance to the passage of heat. When blown cellulose insulation is installed in combination with air sealing, it can cut energy bills up to 40%.
Lori H.’s home is now much more comfortable and she’s thrilled that upgrading her attic’s insulation will end up paying for itself in the money she saves on her energy bills.

Design Specialist Chris G. thorough inspected the inside and outside of Dale’s basement and found the perfect solution.
CleanSpace was installed over the foundation walls. CleanSpace is a thick and durable plastic vapor barrier that will prevent water from the foundation walls from damaging the finished walls and instead directs it to the drainage system. WaterGuard was installed along the walls and into the concrete foundation floors. It’s situated away from any mud that might clog it and collects water from the floors and walls then drains it to the sump pump.
The TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed. The TripleSafe consists of three pumps, including a battery back up pump, sitting at different levels within the sump liner to ensure that no matter how high the waters rise or if there’s a power outage, water will still be pumped safely out and away from the basement through discharge lines going to the yard. On the discharge lines, IceGuards were installed. IceGuards have slotted openings that allow water to escape into the yard, rather than coming back in to the basement, in the event that the discharge lines become frozen or clogged.
A SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed. The SaniDry dehumidifier removes up to 100 pints of water from basement air each day, keeping the relative humidity low so the finished basement walls will not be damaged further and also to prevent mold growth or musty smells.
Dale B. is thrilled he can get rid of the fans because he has the peace of mind that his finished basement will stay dry.

This week, Orville and Susy had Woods Basement Systems come out to have their patio PolyLEVELed. They gave Woods a call to talk about their once flat patio and how now it had risen and also sunk in certain spots. They needed to know what could be done to have it releveled to the original height of other concrete slabs around them. Woods sent out a specialist to inspect the problem and give them more information about what was happening and the best possible solutions for patio. Orville and Susy purchased PolyLEVEL, which is the best solution to any concrete slab raising today.
PolyLEVEL is a very straight forward and simple task when you know what you’re doing and have the right company to do it for you. To begin, a penny sized hole about 5/8th of an inch is drilled in to the concrete slabs that need to be lifted. Then polyurethane foam is shot down under the slabs filling in all the holes and dips allowing the entire slab to rise as one piece. Polyurethane is an amazing material as it eco-friendly and very light, yet industrially strong. Now that everything is level, the holes are patched up and it is all done. Orville and Susy came out to see their finished patio and are astonished with what is looks like. They can get back to enjoying their summer out on the patio with friends and family. If you know someone or are looking to have a PolyLEVEL inspection done, give us a call here at woods Basement Systems located in Collinsville, IL.
This week, Christi W. had Woods Basement Systems come out and waterproof her basement which had the problem with water coming through the walls and under the floor and migrating to the low pockets of her foundation floor. She called Woods and addressed her concerns for what she wanted to do and what questions we could answer. In order to address her issues, Woods sent out a specialist to inspect her basement and give his professional opinion. Christi went ahead and purchased the BrightWall covering system as well as the WaterGuard drainage system with an inspection port. The WaterGuard system would drain any water coming from the walls as well as under the foundation and send it straight to her sump pump. This would then be directed outside of the home. The BrightWall would cover up the walls to both brighten the entire basement and keep the water behind it, leading it to the WaterGuard System.
The WaterGuard was place into a trench along the footing of the wall. This prevents any kind of clogging that could arise later on down the road. Once the WaterGuard is in place and ready to go, concrete is then placed on top to seal it up under the floor and make the trench flat. BrightWall is rolled out and placed on the walls to hide any of the water stains that have been there as well as lead any water to the drainage system. The BrightWall will also brighten the entire basement. With everything working properly and water being redirected to go to the sump pump instead of on the floor; Chrisi is very happy and looking forward to storing her stuff in her basement once more. If you know anymore or are looking to have your basement inspected, give us a call for an inspection here at Woods Basement System located in Collinsville, IL.
This week Irene had her crawlspace flooded with water and needed it the water gone as soon as possible. She also wanted to stop the water flow at its source. The problem was that water was coming in from under the home and getting in through footers and flooding the entire basement. In turn, this water made it damp and humid, which is the perfect environment for mold to colonize. Woods Basement Systems came out to evaluate her concerns and see how they could correct the situation. Irene purchased the SmartPump System, the SmartPipe System, the SaniDry XP System as well as the CleanSpace wall coverings to insure that everything would be fixed the proper way once and for all. With all of these systems working together, there was no way water was going to be a concern for her anymore. The SumpPump would get the water out and the SmartPipe would catch any water coming through the dirt floor.
Now production had to begin, first a hole was dug out and the SmartPump System was placed inside and turned up so that all the water in the basement was pumped out. Originally the water collected all around the basement, not a trench was dug where the SmartPipe would lie in order to catch any water coming through the dirt floor. All exteriors lines for the SmartPump were then connected and lead outside of the home. Now that the two main systems where placed and ready to go, the CleanSpace wall covering was placed over the top floor which made it brighter and waterproof. With the CleanSpace done, the last thing to do was to suck out the humid air with the SaniDry System and prevent mold growth. Irene was very pleased on how her crawlspace turned out and how dry is has become from the original point. If you or someone you know is looking to have their crawlspace inspected give us a call here at Woods Basement Systems located in Collinsville, IL.

Having heard positive things of Woods Basement Systems, he did not hesitate to call. Representative, Chris Tite met with Gary for a free consultation.
Chris noticed that the area around his window well & stairway was accumulating water. He then informed Gary that a TrenchDrain surface drainage system, and a SunHouse window enclosure would redirect the water away from the window & stairway. Concerned, he called Woods Basement Systems of Collinsville, IL, and the company sent their Sales Rep, Daniel, to inspect his property and determine diagnosis. After assessing Ken's basement, Dan concluded that Ken needed 13 units of Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to stabilize his basement walls.
Once diagnosis was distinguished and products were sold, Woods Basement Systems appointed one of their foremen, Todd, to supervise the production of the project. Todd and his crew drilled several deep holes throughout Ken's yard and installed the Geo-Lock Anchor System within the ground as well as against the walls of the basement. After all anchors were locked and installed, Todd and his crew filled the holes they created and repaired Ken's yard with new patches of sod. The entire process took a day and a half to complete, and after Todd and his team finished everything and left, Ken was greatly satisfied with the results.
David wanted a more powerful pump to make sure the water will never go into his basement. He called Woods Basement Systems to see what he could do. The System Design Specialist told him about the Zoeller M-53 1/3 pump and the Ultra Pump. These pumps together would be enough to get the water out and the Ultra Pump would kick on if the power went out for the other one. David also ended up getting IceGuard and a long discharge line to make sure the water flowed away from his house. Now, David has a powerful pump that pumps the water far away.
