Jim A. of Farmersville, Illinois noticed that a few walls in his home's basement were cracking and bowing. He did not want this issue to get any worse or cause safety hazards, so he called Woods Basement Systems for help.
Design specialist Gregory B. assessed the situation and decided that wall anchors would fix the problem. Foreman Jeremy R. then traveled to the home to get the job started. The wall anchors, pictured above, are made of steel and extend from the inside walls of the home to the hard packed soil outside. They stabilize and prevent any further movement of the walls.

A foundation was failing in an Ava, IL basement, as stairstep-shaped cracks were forming. To solve this issue, GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed. These are galvanized steel earth anchors embedded into the soil out and away from the foundation wall. Once installed, these will hold the walls in their current position and can be tightened to allow for improvement and straightening of the wall over time. These can be installed around obstacles on the wall such as pipes, sinks, or furniture. This is the best solution to straighten the wall over time, as it can fix severe problems and stabilize the foundation for good!
A basement in Springfield, Illinois, started having cracks appear on the foundation walls. These are most likely being caused by moving ground soils and need to be addressed before conditions worsen. Woods came out and installed the The PowerBrace System. This system consists of zinc-plated steel beams custom fit to the basement height. They are secured to the wall and floor, and are anchored to the support beams that hold up the floor. This system can be tightened over time, allowing for adjustments to prevent further wall failure. With these braces in place, this home is sure to stay stable for years to come.
Wade K. noticed that new cracks and separations had formed in the foundation walls in his Springfield, IL home. The cracks were allowing water to get in and Wade K. was worried about the safety of his home’s structure so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods inspected the foundation and recommended installing Push Piers.
Woods installed the Push Piers along the concrete footing on the inside of the home. Push Piers are made of galvanized steel sections that are hydraulically driven through steel brackets down into competent, load-bearing soil or bedrock. They transfer the weight of the home from the unstable soil conditions responsible for the settlement to the competent soil or bedrock. The piers are then attached to the concrete footing with the steel brackets to permanently stabilize the foundation. In many cases, Push Piers can also lift the home back to level position.
