Michael D was concerned about the bowing walls in his basement. So, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Todd M was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
A Geo-Lock Wall Anchor, shown above, was installed in Michael’s basement. The Wall Anchor has two ends, one will attach to stable soil away from the house, and the other will attach to the basement walls. Over time the device will be able to straighten the walls.
A foundation was settling in Lake Saint Louis, MO, causing large cracks to appear. To solve this issue, GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed. These will permanently stabilize the foundation walls, and straighten them back to their original position. all of the cracks will be closed, and these will prevent any more from appearing. This basement will remain stable for years to come!
A foundation was becoming unstable in Lake Saint Louis, MO, as large cracks were forming. To solve this issue, GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed. These are galvanized steel earth anchors embedded into the soil out and away from the foundation wall. Once installed, these will hold the walls in their current position and can be tightened to allow for improvement and straightening of the wall over time. These can be installed around obstacles on the wall such as pipes, sinks, or furniture. This is the best solution to straighten the wall over time, as it can fix severe problems and stabilize the foundation for good!
A foundation was settling in Defiance, MO, causing cracks to form on the walls near the doors, which weren't working properly. To solve these issues, Push Piers were installed. These will permanently stabilize the foundation and raise it back up to its original position and keep it in place. These will also close the cracks and improve the function of the doors. This will restore peace of mind for years to come!
Foundation settling problems can be accomplished by placing the Foundation SupportWorks® pier bracket directly below the vertical basement wall. The pier may either be placed on the inside of the basement to save landscaping or on the outside to adjust for the wall rotating outward. In this case the problem was caught early and the push piers were installed in the interior. When installed this way, soil does need to be excavated, but our experts make sure to clean up after themselves and the homeowner will never even be able to tell that we were there...besides the fact that they will now have a straight, stable wall!
