The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel® is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab, then the PolyLevel® polymer is poured into the holes. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on. This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive and arguably more effective than mud jacking which is the procedure PolyLevel® replaces. To removed tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel®. This home in Granite City, IL. already had a sump pump and perimeter drainage system to protect the basement from flooding, however, the original sump pump wasn't adequate to protect the whole home.
That's why installer Juan H. added an additional TripleSafe™ sump pump system to supplement the original pump. The TripleSafe™ will offer great protection thanks to its three seperate pumps. The first two pumps will do most of the pumping while the third, battery-powered pump will turn on to assist them when water levels get too high or when the power goes out and the first two pumps can't turn on. The TripleSafe™ also features an air-tight lid that will prevent water from evaporating out of the sump pit and an alarm that can sound when it detects dangerously high waters in the sump pit or water leaks from above the sump lid like in the event of a plumbing leak.
With the TripleSafe™ working in tandem with the original sump pump, this home will be well protected against leaks and flooding.
This home in Granite City, IL. needed a sump pump that could keep up with the water levels that were building up around the home. A normal sump pump might overflow with too much water, or could turn off completely when the power goes out.
That's why these homeowners got protected with the TripleSafe™ sump pump system. The TripleSafe™ is better at keeping a basement dry thanks to the power of its three seperate pumps. The first two pumps are AC pumps that can remove water from the basement through their individual discharge lines. The third pump is a DC pump that operates off battery power, allowing it to turn on when the power goes out and the first two pumps can't operate.
All three pumps are installed in a single liner that can accept water from the perimeter drainage system as well as directly from the ground around it. The water is trapped in the sump pit thanks to a special liner and air-tight lid. Without an air-tight lid, water that sits in the bottom of the pit might evaporate into the home, where it could make the air feel damp or even condense on cooler surfaces inside.
These three pumps and specially designed liner will keep the basement dry in even the roughest conditions - even if the power goes out.
This home in Granite City, IL. had issues with water building up against the wall thanks to a concrete patio. The concrete would allow water to build up against the wall rather than flow away from it or drain into the ground. To keep water from building up, a drain was installed along the lenght of the wall that would catch water before it could build up and instead direct it away from the wall.
This drain was connected to a sump pump along with the downspout that drained in the same area. The sump pump would collect the water that built up and pump it through a discharge line away from the home. With this system in place, water would not be able to build up against the wall and leak inside and would instead drain far enough from the home that it wouldn't be able to get inside.
Though problems like this aren't very common, Woods Basement Systems is able to adapt and create new solutions that will protect the home from water damage.
In Granite City, Illinois homeowners Timothy and Tina J. were concerned about their basement flooding during the wet spring season. They had problems in the past with rainwater entering their basement where the floor meets the wall. The couple decided to call Woods Basement Systems to find a solution to waterproof their basement once and for all.
Our foremen Juan Hernandez and his team had the perfect solution for Timothy and Tina’s home, to waterproof their basement using the existing sump pump system in the home. Our team installed our patented WaterGuard. WaterGuard is our patented waterproofing system, installed on-top of the footing, WaterGuard catches any water running down the walls or water entering between the floor and the wall. The WaterGuard will drain into any existing sump pump system the homeowners may have. Timothy and Tim will no longer have to worry about their basement being flooded or damp during the spring weather.
The walls of this Granite City, IL. home were starting to show signs of water leaks. Water can leak through tiny gaps in the foundation walls behind these finished walls and cause damage to the vulnerable drywall and wood. To stop this foreman Greg H. installed DryTrak™ along the foundation walls.
DryTrak™ will channel water from the wall into the perimeter drainage system and prevent it from reaching the finished wall. With DryTrak™ in place, leaks through the foundation wall won't be able to cause water damage on the finished wall, and the best part is that the DryTrak™ system can be hidden away, preserving the good look of the finished walls.
While the walls in this home had to suffer at first, they will now be protected from water leaks through the foundation wall behind them thanks to DryTrak™.
This driveway in Granite City, IL. had settled unevenly, causing large cracks to appear in the concrete. These cracks could lead to further damage for the concrete.
Water could drain through these cracks, further eroding the soil beneath the slab and causing even more uneven settling. The jagged edges of the cracks could also catch one another, causing grating and chipping and leading to more cracks and breaks. They could also pose a danger to people and vehicles on the driveway.
It was obvious that these cracks needed to be sealed and Jon L. from Woods Basement Systems knew just how to seal them. He used NexusPro™ joint sealant. This silicone-based sealant is flexible enough to cope with the expanding and contracting that concrete goes through as the weather changes and is durable enough to keep from drying and chipping. With NexusPro™ the joints and cracks are sealed permanently, protecting the concrete slabs from grinding against each other and preventing water from seeping in underneath them and causing further settling.
The cracks in this Granite City driveway won't trouble the homeowners anymore after they get filled with NexusPro™ joint sealant.
This dehumidifier in Sandra H.'s basement was just not good enough.
Dehumidifiers like this are small and inefficient, often not being able to totally dry the air in the space. They also drain the water into a bucket in the base of the unit. When that bucket gets full the dehumidifer shuts off and can't keep the air dry. Sandra would have to go down into her basement regularly to empty the bucket and keep the dehumidifier running.
There was a better way. The Sedona air dehumidifier that Dave G. installed for her would keep Sandra's basement air dry and clean better than the old dehumidifier ever could. The Sedona can pull water from the air at nearly 12 gallons a day and it can do it using the same amount of energy as the inefficient little dehumidifier Sandra used before. Not only is it better at drying the air, but it dumps the water it collects straight into the sump pump system so there's no buckets for Sandra to empty. This means it can run as much as it needs and won't shut off because it's full. As if drying the air wasn't enough, the Sedona will also filter out particles in the air like mold spores.
After the upgrade, the air in Sandra H.'s basement is drier and cleaner than ever before.
Brandon T. of Granite City, Illinois had only recently finished his basement when he began to have issues with water. Anytime it rained heavily, water would end up pooling on the carpet. He suspected that it was coming from behind the drywall, but he couldn't be sure. Wanting to fix the issue before it caused more damage, Brandon called Woods Basement Systems.
Before they could waterproof the basement, foreman Greg and his team first had to cut away and rip up parts of the drywall and carpeting to gain access to the foundation. Once they located the source of the leak, they got to work. In order to waterproof the space, a WaterGuard drainage system was installed. These gutter-like drains are placed underneath the floor at the base of the leaking walls to catch any and all water and prevent it from reaching the living space.
Allen and Jen K. of Granite City, Illinois were interested in repairing their concrete driveway. Over the years, much of the underlying soil had washed away in the the rain, causing several of the slabs to sink and crack. In order to repair the damaged concrete, foreman Malik and his team used PolyLevel, an expanding composite foam. This was injected underneath the sunken slabs through tiny holes in the surface to lift them and fill in the cracks. Because of PolyLevel's quick-drying properties, the driveway was ready to be driven on in just 30 minutes!

Jeff from Granite City, Illinois had just worked with Woods Basement Systems to waterproof his basement. After the job was complete, he was ready to finish his basement. Team Woods' system design specialist, Brian S., worked with Jeff to design a customized plan that matched all of Jeff's wishes. After listening to want Jeff wanted out of his new finished basement, Brian gave the recommendation of installing EverLast wall panels onto the waterproofed walls.
EverLast wall panels were used to finish the walls and protect them against water damage. The EverLast panels were installed over all of the walls to give them a fresh and clean new look.
