Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Job Stories From Jerseyville, IL
Waterproofing a Jerseyville, IL Basement

Water was leaking in a basement in Jerseyville, IL, causing concern. To solve this issue, the bWaterGuard System was first installed. These drainage pipes intercept water at the perimeter of the basement and drain it toward the sump pump system. This system has a design that will drain any wall seepage without allowing dirt and debris from the floor to enter and clog the pipes. Next, the TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed. This system assures protection from everyday problems with an ordinary pump. It can handle a heavy flow of water, thanks to a secondary pump included inside that will help eliminate the water if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water that is entering it. It also features a removable airtight lid which reduces noise, prevents objects from falling in, and keeps moisture, insects, and odor from coming out of the sump. This basement will now stay dry all the time!

Leaking Jerseyville, IL Basement Walls Fitted With WaterGuard And TripleSafe

This Jerseyville, Illinois basement was plagued with water leaks that made the space essentially impossible to use. The constant moisture had already damaged furniture and electronics, and the homeowner was very eager to have the problem dealt with. A Woods Basement Systems team first installed under-floor WaterGuard drains at the base of the leaking walls to catch any leaks and prevent them from making it onto the floor. After this, a TripleSafe sump pump was put in place to remove all of that water from the home. The TripleSafe comes equipped with three separate pumps and is capable of removing over 10,000 gallons of water per hour!

Horizontal Foundation Cracks in Jerseyville, IL

Early Signs of Foundation Problems

This home in Jerseyville, IL. was experiencing serious cracking and bowing to the block foundation walls in the basement. These walls were showing the signs of serious damage with a signature cracking called stairstepping cracks. These cracks appear in the mortar between the blocks, causing the familiar stair-shaped pattern.

There are two main causes for these cracks to appear; the footing beneath the house settling and the soil around the house expanding inward against the walls. When the footing settles, it leaves the wall unsupported and it begins to degrade under its own weight. The wall is often still straight when it cracks in this fasion, it is simply breaking in a downward direction with the settling foundation. The other way these cracks appear is from the pressures of the expanding soil around the home. Soil natural expands with changes in the weaher, causing it to press against the foundation walls. With enough pressure, it can cause cracking. When this happens, the walls often crack inward, causing a bow shape in the wall.

Both problems can be fixed, but for this house the problem was with the expanding soils, not settling footings. To fix this problem, wall anchors can be installed that will strenghten and support the failing walls permanently. Wall anchors work by attaching an interior plate to a steel rod that connects to an anchor plate buried outside. This connection is tightened, pulling the interior plate toward the anchor and strengthening the wall. This system can even be used to straighten the walls back to their original position.

Once the wall anchors are installed, the foundation walls will be permanently supported and the cracks can be repaired, making the wall whole again.

Protecting Crawlspaces from Moisture

One of the most harmful things to enter a crawlspace is water vapor. This water vapor will condense on the cooler surfaces in the crawlspace, like the walls or the floor joists that make up the ceiling. Once inside, water vapor damages the surfaces and fuels rampant mold growth. This mold and water damage can wreak havoc on floors above the crawlspace as they weaken the joists. This could lead to sagging or bouncing floors which would result in costly repairs.

It is easier instead to block the water vapor from entering the crawlspace. One way water vapor enters the crawlspace is through the dirt floors. The owners of this crawlspace have taken measures against that by placing waterproof tarps down across the floor. While this isn't a product specifically designed to protect crawlspaces like CleanSpace™ it is definitely a step in the right direction and a good idea. But the homeowners didn't block water vapor from entering through the windows! Humid air will be drawn into the crawlspace and bring water with it. This humid air will feed mold growth and cause the crawlspace to fill with damp, uncomfortable air.

By blocking the windows in the crawlspace, the homeowners would be able to protect the crawlspace from water vapor present in humid air. Not only will this help stop mold growth and protect the longevity of the home, but it can also lower heating and cooling costs as the crawlspace can be insulated and the drier air can be conditioned properly.

Badly Cracked Jerseyville, IL Walls Reinforced With GeoLock

Ed N. of Jerseyville, Illinois had only recently moved into his new home when he noticed large cracks on several of the basement walls. He was very concerned that these cracks would worsen and lead to leakage issues or possibly even a total wall collapse. Ed wanted the problem taken care of, so he gave Woods Basement Systems a call.

In order to reinforce the damaged walls, foreman Jeremy and his team installed several GeoLock wall supports. These work by connecting heavy anchors buried deep in the firm soil far from the home to steel plates affixed to the interior surface of the damaged walls, effectively pulling them outward over time. Ed can rest easy now that his walls are secured!

PowerBrace Restores Water Damaged Basement in Jerseyville, IL

Janet from Jerseyville, Illinois had a severely damaged basement. The basement had not been waterproofed and because of the continuous water leaks that would create damage, this damaged the foundation. The walls were moving and revealing cracks that jeopardized the safety of the home. Team Woods sent system design specialist, Chris T., to look at the damages and see what solution would provide the best results. After looking over the basement's damage, Chris highly recommended utilizing PowerBrace beams into the walls to strengthen them and provide support.

PowerBrace beams are made out of durable galvanized steel that is secured into the ceiling and floor. These I-beams will provide the support that these walls need to stop cracking and moving. Head foreman, Jeremy R., installed the new beams with the help of his team of installers. Thanks to the hard work of Team Woods, this basement is safe and secured!

Waterproofing in Jerseyville, Illinois

Richard of Jerseyville, Illinois had water damage in his basement, so he called Woods Basement Systems for a solution. Systems design specialist, Jeremy K. recommended installing a TripleSafe sump pump and WaterGuard.

Foreman, Bradly P. installed the products. The TripleSafe pump has a three-in-one design that keeps your basement dry with its primary pump, secondary pump, and a backup battery-powered pump. The WaterGuard is installed in the perimeter of a basement floor and works to guide water that seeps through the walls to the sump pump. Then the sump pump can remove the water from the home, preventing any water damage.

Richard H. now has a safe and dry basement.

WaterGuard Installed in Jerseyville, IL

David K. of Jerseyville, IL had water leaking into his basement. The water threatened his home with mold because the water had no way to be drained and would puddle for days. Woods Basement Systems was able provide a drainage system to effectively get the water out of his basement.

Woods installed WaterGuard to help drain water out of the basement. WaterGuard is installed against the wall in the concrete of the floor. The water will flow into the WaterGuard, allowing the piping to lead the water out of the basement.

A sump pump was installed to provide escape for any unwanted water in the space. Water that may still get into the space will be pumped out through a discharge line that leads to the yard. If this line becomes frozen or backed up, IceGuard will prevent the water from receding back into the basement.
