This homeowner's house was starting to settle into the ground which caused cracks to form. The cracks around this window are small, but if they weren't fixed they could have widened and cracked even further. They were sealed to stop the cracking and then the rest of the house was fixed with push piers to make sure the house stands firm and prevents more cracks from forming.

Bob and Drenda Underwood have called 12104 Brook Terrace Court home for the past 30 years. Built in the 1950s, the house had always served them well—until the basement walls started to show signs of failure. Over time, cracks grew wider, and one wall in particular began caving inward. With plans to eventually move, the Underwoods knew it was time to take action. Quality and long-term stability were their top priorities—they didn’t want a temporary fix. They needed a permanent solution that would protect their investment and give future buyers peace of mind.
After a thorough inspection of the property, our team recommended a combination of PowerBrace and Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to stop the movement and stabilize the compromised wall. PowerBrace is an interior system that uses steel beams to brace and support bowing or tilting basement walls, while the Geo-Lock system anchors the wall to stable soil outside, relieving pressure and allowing for potential correction over time. This powerful duo offered the ideal combination of strength and reliability to restore the wall and prevent further structural damage.
The Underwoods knew they couldn’t risk waiting any longer. With every crack and every shift, the damage was only getting worse. But now, thanks to the support systems installed by Woods Basement Systems, their home is protected. The wall is stabilized, the risk of further movement has been stopped, and they can move forward with peace of mind—knowing the job was done right.
Bill Tipton’s home in Kirkwood, Missouri, had begun showing signs of foundation settlement. Cracks in the walls and noticeable bowing indicated a deeper structural issue that couldn’t be ignored. Concerned about the long-term stability of his one-story residence on Forest Avenue, Mr. Tipton reached out for professional help. Following a detailed inspection, it was determined that the best course of action was to install push piers to support and stabilize the affected portion of the foundation.
The solution involved installing nine Model PP288 push piers along the perimeter of the home, with the layout and placement carefully determined according to on-site field conditions. These steel piers are driven deep into stable soil or bedrock, providing the necessary support to lift and secure the foundation back into place. The project was priced based on an average depth of twenty-two feet per pier, with any additional depth incurring a per-foot charge. While the installation required the removal of a backyard shed for proper access, the team ensured that all work areas would be left “landscape ready” upon completion.
Alongside the pier installation, additional systems were recommended to help protect the home against future water intrusion and basement issues. A full perimeter waterproofing system and the TripleSafe Sump Pump System were both suggested. These systems offer a triple layer of protection, including a primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery backup pump to keep water out even during power outages. To support the new systems, the homeowner was reminded that separate dedicated electrical circuits would need to be installed by a licensed electrician after the structural work was completed.
This project is a strong example of how push piers can be used to combat serious foundation issues like wall bowing and settlement. Thanks to a well-coordinated plan, expert installation, and transparent communication, the Tipton residence is now supported by a solid foundation that will keep the home standing strong for years to come.
A home in Kirkwood, Missouri, had some issues with water seepage. To address this, Woods came out and installed a new sump pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump system collects water and directs it to the sump pump nearby. Plastic pipes are laid directly underneath the floor and sit on top of the soil to prevent clogging from dirt or other debris. With this install in place, this home is sure to stay dry for many years to come.
A basement in Kirkwood, Missouri, had a sump pump that was longer running efficiently and needed to be replaced. Woods came out and installed a new TripleSafe Sump Pump. This system is a top of the line system, with multiple pumps to ensure that no amount of water is too much to remove. This particular sump also includes the UltraSump Battery. This extra pump will kick on in the event of a power outage. With this install in place, this basement is sure to stay dry for many years to come.
The air was damp in a basement in Saint Louis, MO, creating a musty smell. To solve this issue, a SaniDry Sedona was installed. A sump pump had failed to run when the power went out in Kirkwood, MO, causing water to pool in the basement. To solve this issue, the UltraSump Battery Back-Up pumping System was installed. This will come in handy if the power goes out in the future. It will also automatically turn on if the primary pump fails to run. Additionally, a WaterWatch Alarm was installed. This alarm will sound if the water rises above the operating range of the pumps. It will warn you if there is a problem before any damage occurs. These reliable systems will keep the basement dry and restore peace of mind for years to come!
A homeowner wanted a sump pump installed in the basement, so the TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed. This system assures protection from common problems with an ordinary pump. It can handle a heavy flow of water, thanks to a secondary pump included inside that will help eliminate the water if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water that is entering it. It also features a removable airtight lid which reduces noise, prevents objects from falling in, and keeps moisture, insects, and odor from coming out of the sump. This will restore peace of mind and keep the basement dry for years to come!
The RainDrop Gutter Guard is made of polypropylene materials. Tom from St. Louis wanted to waterproof his basement because the amount of water that leak inside only increased over the years. Tom wanted to work with an expert, so he called Team Woods. System design specialist, Thomas W., worked to find a solution for this home's waterproofing needs. Thomas used his extension waterproofing knowledge to design a customized plan for Tom's basement.
A TripleSafe sump pump was used to replace the old, outdated sump. The previous sump wasn't able to pump out any of the water leaks that the basement had experienced, so it was time for an update. WaterGuard drains were also installed in the perimeter of the room to collect the pesky leaks and direct them towards the new sump pump. This dynamic duo will keep the home safe and healthy for several years to come.
