Steve didn't like how the water from his sump pump was being pumped out by his patio. After calling Woods Basement Systems and having them come to the house, a solution was found. LawnScape would be the best option to make sure Steve's patio would be safe from potential water damage. Woods installed a discharge line that was buried and directed towards the side of the house. Then at the end of that line, LawnScape was installed. Now the water flows away from the patio and away from the house.
Tim was living a very uncomfortable life in his Moscow Mills home. His first floor and master bedroom were drafty, the insulation from the laundry room was filling soffits, which restricted air flow, and on top of all that, Tim was basically paying to live in discomfort through his energy bills.
Dr. Energy Saver was on the case. By using the Stack Effect principle, where air leaking out of the home causes air to in, we were able to see that unwanted air was being sucked into the basement and the good conditioned air was escaping from the attic. Dr. Energy Saver installed rim joists and use spray foam in the basement to create a thermal barrier against air leaking in to reduce the first floor draft and used similar tactics to handle the comfort abilities and energy costs in the home.
Tim can now live in complete contentment thanks to Dr. Energy Saver.

Along the cracked, bowing wall, Woods installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors permanently stabilize walls in their position by counteracting the pressure from unstable soil on the outside of the wall. They do this by connecting an earth anchor that’s been embedded in more stable soil in the yard to a steel wall plate on the inside of the wall using a galvanized steel anchor rod. The anchor rod is tightened to firmly hold the wall in place and can even straighten walls over time by tightening the anchors during dry weather.
In an area of the wall where wall anchors couldn’t be installed, a PowerBrace was installed. PowerBraces require no excavation on the exterior of the foundation so they may be used when the yard is inaccessible or landscaping might be damaged. PowerBraces are zinc-plated steel columns that are fit snuggly against the damaged wall using heavy-duty steel brackets connected to the concrete floors below and floor joists above. PowerBraces won’t corrode and are also adjustable so they give the opportunity to improve the wall by tightening them during dry periods.

They permanently stabilize walls in place but can also straighten walls over time by tightening them during dry months.
On the walls where the yard was inaccessible for Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, Woods installed PowerBraces. PowerBraces are zinc-plated, adjustable steel beams that are custom fit to the height of the basement. They are fitted against the wall and held firmly in place by steel brackets that are attached to the cement floors and floor joists above. Like Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, they permanently stabilize walls in place and prevent future damage. They’re adjustable so they also offer the opportunity to improve walls by tightening them during dry periods.

They go down to the bedrock to provide resistance from settling and in many cases lift the foundation back to its original position. During the install more pressure is applied to the rod than when the strusture is on it to insure they can handle the weight of the structure.
The WaterGuard that was paired with the Push Piers goes on the interior perimeter of the wall. It is under the floor to catch water before it enters and direct it away to the sump pump. When finishing a basement, it is important to install waterproofing systems to protect the finished walls and floors from leaks and floods.
In this basement in Winfield, MO., foreman Cory S. installed WaterGuard™ below the the floor to protect the finished walls and floors. WaterGuard™ sits just on top of the footing near the foundation wall. Water that builds up by the footing will eventually rise into the gap between the floor and the wall - right where WaterGuard™ sits. By sitting above the footing, WaterGuard™ is kept out of the mud around the footing but can still drain water away before it can rise to the level of the floor. WaterGuard™ also has a protected gap between the floor and the wall that is designed to capture any water leaking down from the wall, preventing it from pooling up on the floor and damaging the finished floors.
WaterGuard™ is also an excellent choice for finished basements becuase it can be hidden away by the finished walls and floors. Once installed, walls or floors can be replaced over top of it, hiding it from view. That way the basement can be protected without worrying about the finished walls or floors being damaged by leaks rising from below the floor or leaking down the wall.
This finished basement in Winfield, MO. is protected against water leaks without any unsightly waterproofing systems ruining the finished look.
