Steve didn't like how the water from his sump pump was being pumped out by his patio. After calling Woods Basement Systems and having them come to the house, a solution was found. LawnScape would be the best option to make sure Steve's patio would be safe from potential water damage. Woods installed a discharge line that was buried and directed towards the side of the house. Then at the end of that line, LawnScape was installed. Now the water flows away from the patio and away from the house.
Tim was living a very uncomfortable life in his Moscow Mills home. His first floor and master bedroom were drafty, the insulation from the laundry room was filling soffits, which restricted air flow, and on top of all that, Tim was basically paying to live in discomfort through his energy bills.
Dr. Energy Saver was on the case. By using the Stack Effect principle, where air leaking out of the home causes air to in, we were able to see that unwanted air was being sucked into the basement and the good conditioned air was escaping from the attic. Dr. Energy Saver installed rim joists and use spray foam in the basement to create a thermal barrier against air leaking in to reduce the first floor draft and used similar tactics to handle the comfort abilities and energy costs in the home.
Tim can now live in complete contentment thanks to Dr. Energy Saver.

Rose Ann H. of Moscow Mills, MO had a tilting wall in her garage. The garage was partially underground so over time, pressure from the soil on the outside of the wall had caused the wall to lean inward at the top. The leaning wall had caused cracks to form on the ceiling of the wall so she called Woods Basement Systems for a free assessment. Design Specialist Chris T. inspected the inside and outside of the garage and recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the garage wall. They counteract pressure from the soil by connect earth anchors buried in the yard to steel wall plates on the inside of the wall with a galvanized steel anchor rod. The rods are tightened to permanently stabilize the wall in place. The walls can be straightened over time, in most cases, as well by tightening the rods during dry periods.
Rose Ann H. has peace of mind that her walls are stable and she can safely keep her cares in the garage.
Brenda and Brian V. of Troy, MO were worried about a large crack along their foundation wall that seemed to be getting worse every year. The wall was also bowing inward to an alarming degree along the crack. Brenda and Brian didn’t want it to turn into a bigger problem so they called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing a wall support system.
Along the cracked, bowing wall, Woods installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors permanently stabilize walls in their position by counteracting the pressure from unstable soil on the outside of the wall. They do this by connecting an earth anchor that’s been embedded in more stable soil in the yard to a steel wall plate on the inside of the wall using a galvanized steel anchor rod. The anchor rod is tightened to firmly hold the wall in place and can even straighten walls over time by tightening the anchors during dry weather.
In an area of the wall where wall anchors couldn’t be installed, a PowerBrace was installed. PowerBraces require no excavation on the exterior of the foundation so they may be used when the yard is inaccessible or landscaping might be damaged. PowerBraces are zinc-plated steel columns that are fit snuggly against the damaged wall using heavy-duty steel brackets connected to the concrete floors below and floor joists above. PowerBraces won’t corrode and are also adjustable so they give the opportunity to improve the wall by tightening them during dry periods.
Brenda and Brian V. are worry free now that they know their walls are permanently stable and secure.
Jill R. had just bought a home in Troy, IL that had a damp crawlspace. The wet crawlspace provided a perfect environment to foster mold growth. The exposed dirt floors turned to mud in a downpour which made the space unusable for storage. Water from the crawlspace also had a tendency to seep into the basement through the crawlspace opening so Jill called Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate. Design Specialist Jake S. inspected the crawlspace and determined a crawlspace encapsulation system would be the best solution.
Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawlspace. CleanSpace is a thick and durable plastic moisture barrier that is resistant to mold growth. It prevents moisture from entering into the crawlspace. It’s bright white appearance also maximizes the available light in the crawlspace and gives it a much cleaner appearance.
Under the CleanSpace, Woods installed drainage matting. Drainage matting has a dimpled design which provides channels for moisture entering the crawlspace to disperse.
Within the encapsulated crawlspace, Woods installed the SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry is as energy efficient as small store-bought dehumidifiers but is far more effective at removing water from the crawlspace air: up to 109 pints per day. It keeps relative humidity low to prevent mold growth and musty smells in the crawlspace.
Jill R. is happy that she can now use the crawlspace in her new home for storage and that she doesn’t have to worry about water getting into her basement from her crawlspace.
Shirley and Warren T. had a cozy finished basement. Unfortunately, they hadn’t waterproofed before they finished their basement and heavy downpours caused hidden leaks behind the finished walls. Their carpets were soaked and stained, taking hours to dry out. The wood paneling on the bottom half of their finished walls was irreparably water damaged so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Chris T. inspected the basement and found the best solution would be a waterproofing system.
Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard sits on top of the concrete footing of the home, unlike other drainage systems that are notorious for clogging. It will remain free of mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and draining it away to the sump pump.
The TripleSafe was installed to accept the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement. The TripleSafe contains a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump which will protect the basement from even severe weather and power outages.
On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. IceGuards are designed with slotted openings that allow water to escape into the yard in the event that the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months. This prevents the water being pumped out of the basement from getting back in.
The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed, as well. The SaniDry is an energy efficient but powerful dehumidifier that can remove up to 109 pints of the water from basement air per day. It keeps the relative humidity low to prevent mold growth and musty smells.
Shirley and Warren T. are thrilled that they can enjoy their cozy finished basement again without worries of water damage because their basement will stay dry.
The foundation walls of Todd G.’s Troy, MO home were bowing inward. There were large cracks spanning horizontally across the walls and Todd was worried that if he left it any longer, he might have a bigger problem on his hand so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Steve K. thoroughly inspected the foundation walls and recommended installing a wall support system.
Woods installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along some of the cracked foundation walls. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract unstable soil conditions that cause damage like bowing and cracking. To do this, Woods connected earth anchors that have been buried in stable soil conditions in the yard to wall plates on the inside of the walls with galvanized steel anchors rods. They permanently stabilize walls in place but can also straighten walls over time by tightening them during dry months.
On the walls where the yard was inaccessible for Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, Woods installed PowerBraces. PowerBraces are zinc-plated, adjustable steel beams that are custom fit to the height of the basement. They are fitted against the wall and held firmly in place by steel brackets that are attached to the cement floors and floor joists above. Like Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, they permanently stabilize walls in place and prevent future damage. They’re adjustable so they also offer the opportunity to improve walls by tightening them during dry periods.
Todd G. has peace of mind that his walls are safe and secure and he doesn’t have to worry about future damage.
Homeowner Kevin and Lynette J. of St. Louis, MO noticed sinking concrete on their property. After calling Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate on the repair of the concrete, our system design specialist, Brandon B. set up a design that will get the job done.
Foreman, William Andrew T. installed the PolyLEVEL system. This system is the perfect solution to repairing sinking concrete. This procedure requires very lightweight equipment and quick recovery time. Instead of using a mixture of concrete and mud, high-density polymers are use which also makes it a clean process.
After the installation, Kevin and Lynette J. were completey satisfied with the restoration of their property.
When Mike F. of St. Charles, Missouri discovered that his basement was collecting water, he was worried about possible damage. He did not want to have to clean up a wet and messy basement after every rain, so he called Woods Basement Systems.
Design specialist Pete L. discussed the issues and possible solutions with the homeowner. Foreman Mason S. then headed to the home to install a TripleSafe sump pump, a CleanSpace Wall System, and a Waterguard drainage system.
The Waterguard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement and was then covered with concrete. It collects and drains any water that comes up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. The TripleSafe sump pump has a primary, secondary, and battery powered pump that collects and moves water out of the home through a discharge line. Finally, the CleanSpace Wall System is a plastic liner that covers the walls of the basement. It acts as a vapor barrier and drains any leaks that occur behind it to the sump pump.
Mike F. no longer has to worry about a wet and messy basement. He now has a dry and waterproof basement.
Mike P. of Sidney, IL noticed that the concrete outside of his home was facing some issues. Not only were the concrete slabs sinking unevenly, but they were also cracking. Aware of potential issues for the home, in addition to the realization of the danger of tripping, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate.
Systems Design Specialist Gregory B. visited the home and informed Mike that concrete settling and cracking can naturally occur over time. This can be the result of weight of the concrete in addition to an accumulation of the weight of what the concrete is responsible for holding up. He also said that the appropriate solution would be for foreman Andrew T. to install PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a foam injection that is installed into the concrete and works to lift it back to its original position.
Since the installation of PolyLevel, Mike no longer has to fear for the danger of his home in addition to the dangers for himself or his family.
Greg B was concerned about the uneven concrete on his patio. So, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nolan M was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Systems Design Specialist Jake S. visited the home and designed an appropriate solution. He suggested that foreman Juan H. should waterproof the basement. In order to successfully do so, he installed WaterGuard, Twin Pack sump pump and IceGuard. These products all work together in order to keep the basement dry. WaterGuard stops water from reaching the surface and pushes it through the Twin Pack sump pump, which IceGuard stops water from freezing and getting stuck, which could lead to further problems during the winter months when freezing is a possibility.
Since the waterproofing of her basement, Rhonda is very happy that she longer has to fear rain in the forecast.
Linda and Ralph Z were concerned about the bowing walls in their basement. They decided to give Woods Basement Systems a call, and System Design Specialist Jacob K was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

When finishing a basement, it is important to install waterproofing systems to protect the finished walls and floors from leaks and floods.
In this basement in Winfield, MO., foreman Cory S. installed WaterGuard™ below the the floor to protect the finished walls and floors. WaterGuard™ sits just on top of the footing near the foundation wall. Water that builds up by the footing will eventually rise into the gap between the floor and the wall - right where WaterGuard™ sits. By sitting above the footing, WaterGuard™ is kept out of the mud around the footing but can still drain water away before it can rise to the level of the floor. WaterGuard™ also has a protected gap between the floor and the wall that is designed to capture any water leaking down from the wall, preventing it from pooling up on the floor and damaging the finished floors.
WaterGuard™ is also an excellent choice for finished basements becuase it can be hidden away by the finished walls and floors. Once installed, walls or floors can be replaced over top of it, hiding it from view. That way the basement can be protected without worrying about the finished walls or floors being damaged by leaks rising from below the floor or leaking down the wall.
This finished basement in Winfield, MO. is protected against water leaks without any unsightly waterproofing systems ruining the finished look.
