The University of Illinois Extension building in Jacksonville, IL had hidden leaks in their finished basement. It flooded and left behind a massive mess in their meeting rooms which took many hours to clean up. The director, Aaron D, was worried about more damage so he called Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate. Woods recommended installing a waterproofing system.

Woods installed two TripleSafe sump systems, one of which is shown in the picture, as part of the waterproofing system. Each TripleSafe contains a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump. They take water from the drainage system and expel it out and away from the basement through their discharge lines. If the primary pump is unable to keep up with a higher volume of water coming from a heavy downpour, the secondary pump will automatically kick into action to keep the basement dry. In the event of a power outage, the battery back up pump can pump up to 11,000 gallons of water out of the basement on a full charge to keep water at bay until power is restored.

Effective Concrete Leveling & Concrete Sealing

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it.

How PolyLevel works:

  1. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab.
  2. Then the PolyLevel polymer is injected into the holes and expands to provide an accurate lift.
  3. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on.

This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive, and arguably more effective than mud jacking, which is the standard that PolyLevel replaces. We even offer SealantPro concrete sealing, which extends slabs' lifespans by 3 to 5 times overall in just one quick application. This concrete sealing system is resistant to moisture, oil, UV rays, abrasions, and more.

To remove tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel concrete leveling. After, our concrete sealing system will preserve your slabs for a lifetime. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling or concrete sealing estimate, contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks
  • Sagging steps
  • Uneven patios
  • Sinking driveways

Basement Waterproofing in Concord, Mo

Kathy H. from Concord, MO had water continuously puddling on her basement floor. She called Woods Basement Systems to locate the leak and permanently solve the problem. Our System Design Specialist customized a solution to keep her basement dry year round.

Our installation team put in place the the WaterGuard drainage system, Triple Safe sump pump, IceGuard, and a Lawnscape Outlet. All of these products work together to keep the water out of Kathy's basement.

The WaterGuard drainage system is installed below the basement floor along the foundation wall. This system allows water in the foundation’s surrounding soil to be guided directly to the sump pump before it enters the basement.

Our TripleSafe sump pump has two working pumps and is supported with a third battery backup pump. That third pump offers Kathy peace of mind knowing that it will kick on in the event of a power outage during a storm. The TripleSafe also has an alarm system that will sound should any of the pumps fail, this will alert Kathy to have her pump serviced before her basement is flooded.

IceGuard is a specially designed product that is installed outside the home. This allows water to be discharged away from the house should a pipe ever freeze, which we know happens often in the harsh Midwest winters.

The last product installed, the LawnScape outlet, discharges water coming from the rain gutters further away from the home as to not allow water to puddle near the basement walls.

After thoroughly inspecting the basement, Design Specialist Chris T. determined that the best solution would be a waterproofing system.

Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. Unlike other exterior systems that become clogged by silt and plant roots, WaterGuard is an interior system that sits on top of the concrete footing to keep it clog-free as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors of the basement and drains it to the sump pump.

Woods installed two TripleSafe sump systems to accept the water from the WaterGuard and eject it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. Each TripleSafe contains three pumps, including battery back up pumps, to ensure the basement stays dry, even in heavy downpours or power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the building. The perforations on the IceGuards were designed to allow trapped water escape to the yard if the lines become frozen to prevent it from getting back into the basement.
