Crawl Space Vapor Barrier in Murphysboro, IL

Crawl Space Vapor Barrier in Murphysboro, IL

Crawl Space Vapor Barrier in Murphysboro, IL Crawl Space Vapor Barrier in Murphysboro, IL

Plastic crawl space vapor barriers may block a lot of moister vapor from the dirt but it vents most of it at the perimeter where the plastic cover is open nearest the wall.  Over time, this causes the wood floor joist and sill plate at the perimeter to rot, commonly called dry rot.  This is due to the seasonal temperature changes and the abundant moisture released from beneath the plastic cover condensing on the wood, then drying, getting absorbed again, then drying, and getting wet another day, then drying...  Our CleanSpace® encapsulation system, like the one installed in this Murphysboro, Illinois crawl space, STOPS this problem, helps reduce radon levels, control mold and bugs, and lower energy costs.

Fast and Effective Concrete Lifting and Leveling

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab, then the PolyLevel polymer is poured into the holes. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on. This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive and arguably more effective than mud jacking which is the procedure PolyLevel replaces. To removed tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel. To schedule a FREE concrete lifting and leveling estimate contact us today!

We can Fix:
  • Sunken sidewalks

This made it very difficult to make effective use of the space, and he was eager to have it taken care of.

In order to waterproof the space, Woods Basement Systems foreman Juan H. and his team began by installing a WaterGuard drainage system. After this, a CleanSpace vapor barrier was to cover the walls and seal out all moisture. Kyle couldn't be happier!

Waterproofing and Radon Mitigation Systems Installed in Murphysboro, IL

Jacqueline B. of Murphysboro, IL had water getting into her finished basement. It had wreaked havoc on the finished walls and carpeted floors. She’d also tested for radon in her home and had very high levels so she called Woods Basement System. Design Specialist Paul B. inspected the basement and recommended installing a waterproofing system and radon mitigation system.

Woods installed WaterGuard under the concrete floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is a drainage system that is situated on the concrete footing of the home so it won’t become clogged with mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to sump pump for removal.

The Twin Pack was installed to collect the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The Twin Pack contains two powerful, cast-iron sump pumps to ensure the basement stays dry in all weather conditions. On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. IceGuards have slotted openings to allow water to escape into the yard if the discharge lines become frozen or clogged.

Woods installed a radon mitigation system. They drilled a hole into the slab foundation to create a path of least resistance for radon gas. The hole is connected to a pvc pip that is directed upward to a fan in the attic which actively vents the gas outside and safely away from the home.

Jacqueline B. has peace of mind that her basement well stay dry and that she no longer has to worry about dangerous radon mitigation in her home.

SaniDry, an energy efficient dehumidifier, was installed. SaniDry keeps the humidity low in order to keep the mold away.

Waterproofing in Murphysboro, IL

Ted and Barbara P. of Murphysboro, IL had a damp and humid basement. This climate left the space uncomfortable and unsafe to store items. Woods Basement Systems installed products to help keep the humidity and moisture out of the basement.

Woods installed WaterGuard to help drain unwanted water out of the basement. WaterGuard is installed in the cement of the flooring against the walls. This allows water to enter the piping and be drained to prevent damages to the home and personal belongings.

A SaniDry was installed to filter moisture out of the air in the crawlspace. A SaniDry is a dehumidifier for the space and will help control the humidity. Controlling the humidity of the crawlspace will reduce energy bills and make the home more comfortable because the air that is moving into the house is more controlled.

A TripleSafe sump pump was installed to provide escape for any unwanted water in the space. Water that may still get into the space will be pumped out through a discharge line that leads to the yard. If this line becomes frozen or backed up, IceGuard will prevent the water from receding back into the basement.
