Harmful Moisture
This image shows before our team installed a waterproofing system. You can see how water is affecting the area, growing mold, and creating a space that makes it hard to store items. In the bottom right corner you can see that the box stored down here has suffered damage due to water in the basement.
Before Waterproofing: Moist Air in the Basement
While a dehumidifier can help manage humidity, it is not a complete solution for active water intrusion. The underlying water issues in the basement still needed to be addressed. Dehumidifying the air is important though. Moisture in the basement air does not stay confined to that space. Air naturally rises, carrying damp, poor-quality air from the basement up into the living areas of the home. Without proper waterproofing, this moisture can continue to affect indoor air quality and overall home health despite the presence of a dehumidifier.
After Waterproofing- Water Drainage
In the waterproofing process, water is collected along the perimeter of the basement in sub-floor drainage systems. The water from seepage and flooding in the basement are collected in these drains that flow to the sump pump system.
Sump Pump System
In this picture is the sump pump system which is what is working to get water out of your basement and far from the home. It collects water from the sub-floor drains and pumps them through the white discharge lines, up and far from the basement. The sump pump system is also paired with a battery back up system that ensures even in a power outage the pump is still functioning and sending water from the home.
Clog Free System
Here at Woods we use systems that are engineered for the best solution to customers problems. One of the things we ensure with our waterproofing system is that it is clog free. The sub-floor filter drainage system is a one of a kind design that will never cause issues of clogging for customers. This means there is no need to worry about replacing the system in years to come because of debris clogging the system.
