Lebanon, Illinois homeowner Lucia had both a crawl space and a garage that were wetter than she wanted. She gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist John developed a plan to get everything dry for her.

Foreman Greg and his crew installed the the CleanSpace with Drainage Matting, SilverGlo, and SmartSump in the crawl space featured here.

The Drainage Matting is under the CleanSpace. It gives the water vapor that seeps in a surface to collect on and direct to the SmartSump. The CleanSpace keeps all the water vapor out of the crawl space environment while providing a brighter, cleaner surface.

The SmartSump will make sure any water collected gets removed from the space and away from the home.

Lucia can now use her crawl space for storage and not be afraid when she needs to go into the space.

After a thorough inspection, Woods installed WaterGuard, IceGuard, and  a TripleSafe sump pump in the resident’s basement.  This prevented the water from entering the basement by pumping it out and away from the home.  The TripleSafe was able to keep up with the large amounts of water because of its three-pump system.  There was not a problem with the WaterGuard clogging because it was installed on top of the footing rather than beside it.

The resident was very satisfied with the waterproofing and now enjoys a dry basement all the time.  She rated Woods a 10 out of 10 and said she is very likely to recommend their excellent work.

Waterproofing in Caseyville, IL

This week Todd H. had his basement waterproofed as water was entering from under the footing as well as cracks through the poured wall. He had called in the past and Woods Basement Systems had sent out a specialist to check out what the problem was as well as give his opinion to what would get the job done correctly. They noticed on inspection that walls had water stains on them and the floor was still very wet. The systems that are going to be installed are the BrightWall System which will make those stains not so hideous as well as keep the water on the wall rather than on the floor. Other system includes the IceGuard System, the TripleSafe Sump Pump and WaterGuard.

With these systems, the basement is going to be dryer as well as move any water that enters it away from the home. The WaterGuard will take all the water that comes through the wall and drain it down to the TripleSafe Sump Pump which will then move the water out away from the home using the IceGuard pipes. Our Production crew lead by Foreman Greg Harvey was sent out to do the installation which went smoothly. Now that the systems are working in harmony the basement is going to be dryer because of them. If you know someone or are looking for a free inspection of your basement, give us a call here at Woods Basement Systems.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract that pressure by embedding earth anchors in more stable soil in the yard and connecting them to wall plates on the inside of the walls using galvanized steel anchor rods. The Geo-Lock Wall Anchors will permanently stabilize the walls in place. They can also straighten the walls over time by tightening the anchors during dry periods.

Paul is relieved now that his walls are secure and permanently stabilized.

Crawlspace Encapsulation in Springfield, IL

Kurt and Laurie R.’s Springfield, IL home had a large crack along the foundation floor as well as vertical cracks in their drywall and crawlspace foundation wall. They found out that they had mine subsidence occurring under their home which was causing their foundation to settle. They were also having issues with water getting into the crawlspace and partially finished basement. Their crawlspace was completely unusable due to the water intrusion and it took hours to clean up and fan dry their basement so their called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Nolan M. assessed their foundation and inspected their crawlspace and basement and recommended installing a crawlspace encapsulation and basement waterproofing system as well as Push Piers.

Woods installed Push Piers along the footing of the home. High-strength steel pier sections are hydraulically driven into stable earth or bedrock below and then attached to steel brackets on the footing of the home. This transfers the weight of the home to through the piers to competent, load-bearing earth and permanently stabilizes the foundation.

Along the crawlspace walls and floors, CleanSpace was installed. CleanSpace is a thick, durable moisture barrier that prevents water from entering the crawlspace and instead directs it to the drainage system.

Under the CleanSpace, drainage matting was installed on the dirt floors of the crawlspace. Drainage matting has a dimpled design that provides channels for standing water in the crawlspace to disperse to the drainage system for removal.

SmartPipe was installed along the perimeter of the crawlspace, against the walls. It has multiple rows of holes that are covered in a filter fabric that prevents mud or debris from clogging it as it collects water from the dirt floors and foundation walls of the basement and takes it to the sump pump for removal.

The SmartSump was installed to collect water from the SmartPipe and pump it out and away from the crawlspace through its discharge lines. The SmartSump contains a powerful cast iron pump and the sump lid was designed to form an airtight seal with the CleanSpace moisture barrier.

In the basement, the TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed. The TripleSafe contains a primary, secondary and battery back up pump to ensure the basement stays dry even in severe weather conditions and power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines of the pumps on the exterior of the home. IceGuards have slotted openings to prevent water from getting back into the basement and crawlspace if the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months.

Laurie and Kurt R. are relieved that their foundation and home are secure and thrilled they can use their crawlspace and basement without worrying about rain in the forecast.

Finished Basement Waterproofed and Wall Restored in Caseyville, IL

Josephine and Terry B. of Caseyville, IL had water leaking into their finished basement. It was destroying the finished walls and floors and causing messes that were a pain to clean up. They had a sump pump in place but no drainage system so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Nolan M. inspected their basement and recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system to tie in with their sump pump and half wall restoration.

Woods installed WaterGuard under the concrete floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is a drainage system that is situated on the concrete footing of the basement so it won’t become clogged with mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors of the basement and drains it to the sump pump for removal.

Woods cut away the rotted drywall from the lower half of the walls which are the most susceptible to water damage. They used EverLast Wall Panels to restore the lower half of the wall. EverLast Wall Panels are made of materials that can’t be damaged by water or mold and are resistant to mold growth. Crawl Space Encapsulation in Millstadt, IL

Frances K. of Millstadt, IL had a very wet crawlspace. The crawl space leaked every time it rained so it couldn’t be used for storage or anything else because anything put in the crawl space would be damaged. Drafts from the crawl space made the home harder to cool in the winters as well so Frances called Woods Basement Systems for a free inspected. After assessing the crawl space, Design Specialist Adam R. found the best solution would be a crawl space encapsulation and insulation system.

Woods installed SilverGlo Insulated panels over the foundation walls of the crawl space. SilverGlo is a graphite infused rigid foam insulation that has a higher R-value than other foam insulation panels. It’s also waterproof so it prevents moisture from entering the crawlspace and guides it down to the drainage system.

CleanSpace was installed over the walls and dirt floors of the crawlspace. It is a  mold-resistant, thick, durable plastic liner that prevents water from entering the crawl space from the walls or floors. Drainage matting was installed under the CleanSpace over the floors of the crawl space. Drainage matting is dimpled to prove channels for standing water to disperse to the drainage system.

Woods installed the SmartPipe drainage system along the perimeter of the crawlspace. SmartPipe features several rows of channel holes that are covered with special filter fabric. This keeps it free from debris and mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawl space and then drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to accept the water from the SmartPipe and pump it out and away from the crawlspace through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe consists of three pumps, including a battery back up pump, which allows it to handle weather ranging from light sprinkles to severe thunderstorms as well as power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. Water flows straight through IceGuards normally but if the discharge lines become frozen or clogged, water can escape to the yard through the slotted openings in the IceGuards, rather than back up into the crawlspace.

Woods installed the SaniDry dehumidifier in the crawl space. The SaniDry is EnergyStar rated so it’s energy efficient but still powerful. It removes up to 109 pints of water from crawl space air per day which keeps relative humidity low. The SaniDry prevents conditions that foster mold growth and rot.

Frances K. is thrilled that not only can she use her crawl space for storage but her home will be more comfortable in the winter.

Virginia was done dealing with the messes that came with rain so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the basement and recommended installing a waterproofing system.

Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the foundation walls of the basement. WaterGuard is situated on top of the concrete footing of the home so it won’t be clogged by silt and plant roots as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to accept the water collected by the WaterGuard and expel it out and away from the basement. It contains three pumps, including a battery back up pump, that can keep the basement dry in weather ranging from light drizzles to torrential downpours as well as in a power outage.

Woods installed IceGuards on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards have perforations that allow water to escape into the yard if the lines become frozen so it doesn’t back up into the basement.

Virginia has peace of mind that she won’t be dealing with any more messes when the forecast calls for rainy weather because her basement will stay dry.
