This basement in Troy, Illinois used to hold water after heavy, long rains. Now with WaterGuard installed, this basement no longer gets water in it...and the owners are pleased with the work done!
Wood and drywall are both organic, and when used in a basement, are extremely susceptible to moisture and mold growth. Having a vapor barrier installed on the basement floor is a good idea unless the top of it is wood. Plumbing leaks downstairs or falling into the basement from upstairs will cause a serious problem. Our ThermalDry® basement flooring is made of inorganic materials and will not allow mold to grow in the event that there is a leak in the basement. This Troy, Illinois basement is now protected and mold-free!
Street creep is when pressure from the roadway pushes the driveway and continues on into the garage slab forcing the rear foundation wall of the garage to push outward.
We installed our Geo-Lock™ wall anchoring system from Foundation Supportworks® to stop this from causing further damages to this Troy, Illinois garage and foundation.

The major flaw of concrete is that the ground that it was poured on top of will inevitably shift and sink over time. In the states of Illinois and Missouri sinking concrete is all too common which is why our company has gone to great lengths to develop fast and effective concrete lifting and leveling solutions. PolyLevel is a revolutionary product that is minimally invasive and not only lifts and levels concrete but also stabilizes it. The concrete lifting and leveling process begins with a few small holes drilled in the slab, then the PolyLevel polymer is poured into the holes. After only about 15 minutes the polymer is dry and the concrete is ready to be walked and even driven on. This concrete lifting and leveling technique is faster, less disruptive and arguably more effective than mud jacking which is the procedure PolyLevel replaces. To removed tripping hazards, stabilize concrete, and lift it back to a level height nothing is faster or more effective than PolyLevel. After the installation is done, it can hold more than 60,000 pounds.
Because of Woods Basement System, Al B. no longer has any worries about the safety and security of his home

Their carpets were soaked and stained, taking hours to dry out. The wood paneling on the bottom half of their finished walls was irreparably water damaged so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Chris T. inspected the basement and found the best solution would be a waterproofing system.
Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard sits on top of the concrete footing of the home, unlike other drainage systems that are notorious for clogging. It will remain free of mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and draining it away to the sump pump.
The TripleSafe was installed to accept the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement. The TripleSafe contains a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump which will protect the basement from even severe weather and power outages.
On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. IceGuards are designed with slotted openings that allow water to escape into the yard in the event that the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months. This prevents the water being pumped out of the basement from getting back in.
The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed, as well. The SaniDry is an energy efficient but powerful dehumidifier that can remove up to 109 pints of the water from basement air per day. It keeps the relative humidity low to prevent mold growth and musty smells.
Shirley and Warren T. are thrilled that they can enjoy their cozy finished basement again without worries of water damage because their basement will stay dry.
Jill R. had just bought a home in Troy, IL that had a damp crawlspace. The wet crawlspace provided a perfect environment to foster mold growth. The exposed dirt floors turned to mud in a downpour which made the space unusable for storage. Water from the crawlspace also had a tendency to seep into the basement through the crawlspace opening so Jill called Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate. Design Specialist Jake S. inspected the crawlspace and determined a crawlspace encapsulation system would be the best solution.
Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawlspace. CleanSpace is a thick and durable plastic moisture barrier that is resistant to mold growth. It prevents moisture from entering into the crawlspace. It’s bright white appearance also maximizes the available light in the crawlspace and gives it a much cleaner appearance.
Under the CleanSpace, Woods installed drainage matting. Drainage matting has a dimpled design which provides channels for moisture entering the crawlspace to disperse.
Within the encapsulated crawlspace, Woods installed the SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry is as energy efficient as small store-bought dehumidifiers but is far more effective at removing water from the crawlspace air: up to 109 pints per day. It keeps relative humidity low to prevent mold growth and musty smells in the crawlspace.
Jill R. is happy that she can now use the crawlspace in her new home for storage and that she doesn’t have to worry about water getting into her basement from her crawlspace.
Marilyn J. from Troy, Illinois was worried about the cracks on her pathway. In order to solve this problem, she called our team and got an appointment. Based on the cracks, our system specialist created a solution by Poly Level.

This is done by using poles to extend past the active zone in the yard. This will support the foundation of the home for the life of the structure so the homeowner’s never have to worry about a failing foundation.
Woods also installed WaterGuard to help drain water out of the basement. WaterGuard is installed against the wall in the concrete of the floor. The water will flow into the WaterGuard, allowing the piping to lead the water out of the basement.
CleanSpace was installed on the basement walls to provide protection to the home. CleanSpace sealed off the basement to keep water out but also guided the water that got in to the WaterGuard.
Woods installed a discharge line that was attached to a Tripe Safe sump pump. This sump pump would pump the water in the basement through the discharge line. The discharge line leads the water into the yard where it is drained. The line can become frozen or clogged in some situations. In order to prevent the water from backing up into the basement, Woods installed IceGuard. IceGuard provides an escape route for the water so that it does not back up into the basement.
Dennis and Kristen P., Troy, Illinois homeowners, discovered high levels of radon in their basement. Radon is a naturally occuring gas found in the soil. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, so Dennis and Kristen were worried.
System design specialist John S. designed a solution to lower the radon levels. Foreman Greg J. installed a radon mitigation system. The system keeps the radon levels low and safe. Dennis and Kristen are thrilled to have a safe home.
Larry P. in Troy, IL was having support and climate control issues in his crawlspace. Larry knew that the failing support to his home and the mold breeding ground in his crawlspace could soon become a bigger issue. He called Woods Basement Systems for help with a solution.
Woods installed SmartJacks to lift the home. By doing this, the home has support that is guaranteed to last for the life of the structure. The home will no longer have sagging floors and the homeowner will not have to worry about his home falling apart.
Woods also installed CleanSpace to seal off the space and prevent water and moisture from getting in. A drainage matt was installed under the CleanSpace to drain away any unwanted water that may be standing in the crawlspace. Vent covers were also installed for additional sealing. These covers create an air tight seal and do not allow water or moisture into the crawlspace.
Finally, a TripleSafe sump pump was installed to evacuate unwanted water. The sump pump will pump the water out through a discharge line that leads the water to the yard. This line can become clogged or frozen at times, in order to prevent the water from receding back into the crawlspace, Woods installed IceGuard. IceGuard is installed on the discharge line next to the house and allows water to escape through it when it is necessary.
Mike and Tracan L. of Troy, Illinois were troubled by the water leaking into their basement where the floor meets the wall. The water posed a risk to their valuables and provided the perfect environment for mold growth.
Adam R., system design specialist, designed a solution to waterproof their basement. First, WaterGuard was installed by foreman Mason S. and his team. WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system, guides water to the TripleSafe sump pump system. TripleSafe is equipped with three pumps to ensure the basement stays dry.
IceGuard was installed to provide an alternative exit in the event that the discharge lines would become frozen. Mike and Tracan's basement is now dry and free of mold, and they can enjoy it worry free.
Before Mary bought her home in Troy, MO in December 2012, the previous owners informed her on the wet basement issues. She loved the house and would not let a wet basement ruin the opportunity. Steve didn't like how the water from his sump pump was being pumped out by his patio. After calling Woods Basement Systems and having them come to the house, a solution was found. LawnScape would be the best option to make sure Steve's patio would be safe from potential water damage. Woods installed a discharge line that was buried and directed towards the side of the house. Then at the end of that line, LawnScape was installed. Now the water flows away from the patio and away from the house.
