Woods Basment Systems sealed the crawl space, protecting it from mold growth, rotting floors (due to humidity and mold), and odors—helping to preserve the property value and cut utility costs.

Plastic crawl space vapor barriers may block a lot of moister vapor from the dirt but it vents most of it at the perimeter where the plastic cover is open nearest the wall.  Over time, this causes the wood floor joist and sill plate at the perimeter to rot, commonly called dry rot.  This is due to the seasonal temperature changes and the abundant moisture released from beneath the plastic cover condensing on the wood, then drying, getting absorbed again, then drying, and getting wet another day, then drying...  Our CleanSpace® encapsulation system, like the one installed in this Murphysboro, Illinois crawl space, STOPS this problem, helps reduce radon levels, control mold and bugs, and lower energy costs.

High Humidity in a Crawl Space, O'Fallon IL High Humidity in a Crawl Space, O'Fallon IL

The temperature in this O'Fallon crawl space was 71 degrees, but the humidity level was over 80.  This high level of humidity caused mold to grow rapidly, and wood rot was affecting the floor joist and sub-flooring. Another major problem was that the crawl space air was getting up into the house.  Unfortunately, if it's in your crawl space, it's in your home.  We installed a complete encapsulation system of CleanSpace® and SaniDry® dehumidifier to solve these problems.  The upstairs air quality was greatly improved and the energy bills dropped too!

Job Stories From Williamson County, IL
Woods Solves Cold Basement Issue in St. Louis, MO

A St. Louis, MO customer called Woods Basement Systems in a panic because she had recently had work done by another company in her basement, yet there was still water seeping through the cracks.  She was very unsatisfied with the previous work that had been done, and all she had to show was an uneven chain link fence, concrete poured in her yard, and a cut cable line.

Woods sent out the Production Manager to inspect the issues and found that the windows that had been installed were measured incorrectly, which caused cracks and the temperature in the basement to drop.  The customer had Woods install Everlast windows and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Energy Saver.

The customer was very satisfied with the work done by Woods Basement Systems, and can now live comfortably in her basement.

BrightWall Basement in Carterville, IL

This Carterville, IL homeowner didn’t want to completely finish his basement, but also wanted something to give it a clean and polished look, while adding waterproof protection.  In the past, he had tried coating the walls with paints and sealants, but moisture still permeated through them.  This only made the walls look worse due to the peeling and flaky coatings on them.

Woods solved this homeowner’s issue by installing BrightWall.  The BrightWall Paneling System turns basements that may otherwise have been unusable into attractive, dry living spaces. The resident was very pleased with the end result and now enjoys a clean and dry basement.

Finding Comfort in Moscow Mills

Tim was living a very uncomfortable life in his Moscow Mills home. His first floor and master bedroom were drafty, the insulation from the laundry room was filling soffits, which restricted air flow, and on top of all that, Tim was basically paying to live in discomfort through his energy bills.

Dr. Energy Saver was on the case. By using the Stack Effect principle, where air leaking out of the home causes air to in, we were able to see that unwanted air was being sucked into the basement and the good conditioned air was escaping from the attic. Dr. Energy Saver installed rim joists and use spray foam in the basement to create a thermal barrier against air leaking in to reduce the first floor draft and used similar tactics to handle the comfort abilities and energy costs in the home.

Tim can now live in complete contentment thanks to Dr. Energy Saver.

Saving Energy with CleanSpace

Sheila and Dale are now able to enjoy their new space while making the home more comfortable and efficient thanks to Dr. Energy Saver.

Geo-Lock Foundation & CleanSpace in Ballwin, MO

Ballwin resident, Mary O, was concerned about the deterioration of her homes foundation over the years.  The basement walls were bowing & buckling, and the crawl space grew wet with a musty smell.  She was referred by a friend to call Woods Basement Systems.

On July 3rd, 2014, representative, Chris Tite visited Mary’s home to diagnose what was causing her issues.  After his assessment, Chris explained to Mary that the foundation soil was exceeding way too much pressure on the outside walls.  He suggested that a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System will prevent them from getting worse, as well as help straighten them back to normal.  He also informed her on the state-of-the-art CleanSpace Liner that would act as a barrier from moisture, outside air, as well as pests.  This process of crawl space encapsulation would get rid of the musty smell.  Mary felt comfortable with Chris’s knowledge as well as Wood’s access to the high-tech materials, she decided Woods Basement Systems was the right one for the job.

On July 17th, foreman Todd Wells and his crew began the transformation.  The anchors were inserted in the soil outside the foundation.  There, they are connected to the foundation walls by a steel rod to apply pressure.  This procedure helps form them back to its original position.  Mary’s home required 50 feet of CleanSpace liner to cover her entire crawl space.  The liner will not only prevent the musty smell, but will also help save energy costs.

In just two days, the entire job was complete and Mary could not be happier with the results.  She is now more comfortable knowing her home's foundation is safe, clean and warranted.

Ken is glad that he no longer has to clean up a mess every time it rains and his basement is liveable again.

Basement Waterproofed in Des Peres, MO

Mike W. of Des Peres, MO had water leaking into his finished basement. It was damaging the woods frames behind his walls and the belongings he stored in his basement. He’d had a waterproofing system installed by another company but it clearly wasn’t preventing water from getting in so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Mike T. assessed the basement and found the perfect solution for the water problem.

Woods removed the  bottom half of the old, water damaged wood frames and drywall and then installed WaterGuard under the concrete floors along the perimeter of the basement. It’s situated away from any mud so it won’t become clogged as it collects water coming in from the floors and walls then drains it away to the sump pump.

Woods replaced old, rusted sump pump with the TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The TripleSafe contains a primary, secondary and battery operated back up pump which ensures that, even if the primary pump fails or the power goes out, unwanted water will be pumped out the basement. IceGuards were installed on the exterior of the home on the discharge lines. Should the lines become frozen or clogged, water won’t come back into the basement because IceGuards give it an alternative escape route through its openings.

Woods then restored the bottom half of the finished walls with Everlast Wall Panels. The Everlast Wall Panels are completely waterproof so it won’t rot like drywall or wood frames and it works with the waterproofing system by preventing water from coming into the basement and directing it to the WaterGuard below

Mike W. has peace of mind that his finished basement and belongings will remain dry and he doesn’t have to worry about his walls getting water damaged again.

Finished Basement Waterproofed in St. Louis, MO

Michael and Laura O of St. Louis, MO had a partially finished basement that was continuously being flooded each time it rained. They were using fans to dry areas where they kept closets of clothing and gym equipment. It was obvious in the unfinished areas that the wood framing was beginning to rot after repeated water damage. They’d had a different company install a sump pump system but it was clearly not working so they called Woods Basements Systems. Design Specialist Nolan M. inspected the basement and found that a full perimeter waterproofing system would take care of their water issue.

Woods installed WaterGuard under the concrete floors, on top of the concrete footing along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is a drainage system that is positioned in a way that it sits away from any mud that may clog it as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump for removal.

The TripleSafe Sump Pump System replaced Michael and Laura’s non-functioning sump pump. The TripleSafe contains two powerful pumps to ensure that, even in severe downpours, water will be pumped out and away from the basement through the discharge lines.

Michael and Laura O. now have peace of mind that their belongings are safe in their basement because it will stay dry.

Walls Stabilized and Basement Waterproofed in Granite City, IL

Richard B. of Granite City, IL had cracking walls that were tilting inward. The cracks were leaking along with the floors and wall joints. Richard was worried the walls would fail and he was tired of the belongings he stored in the basement being damaged each time it rained so he called Woods Basement Systems for a free, no obligation estimate. Design Specialist John S. inspected the inside and outside of the basement and recommended a wall support system and basement waterproofing system.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along the cracking and tilting walls. They permanently stabilize walls by counteracting soil pressure on the outside of the walls using earth anchors that are connected to wall plates on the inside of the walls using anchor rods. In most cases the walls can be straightened over time by tightening the anchors during dry periods.

WaterGuard was installed under the concrete floors along the perimeter of the basement. It is a drainage system that is situated away from any mud that might clog it as it collects encroaching water from the foundation walls and floors of the basement and drains it away to the sump pump for removal.

The TripleSafe was installed to remove the water collected by the WaterGuard. It contains three pumps: a primary, secondary and battery back up pump. This ensures that even in very severe weather or power outages, water will continue to be pumped out and away from the basement through the discharge lines. IceGuards were installed on the exterior of the home on the discharge lines. IceGuards ensure that water won’t come back into the basement if the lines become frozen by allowing it to escape through its slotted openings.

Richard B. is relieved that he no longer has to worry about his walls because they are stable and his belongings are safe from any damaging water.

CleanSpace Crawlspace Encapsulation System and SaniDry Installed in Nokomis, Illinois

Nokomis, Illinois homeowner Rodney C. was troubled by is musty, moldy crawlspace. High humidity levels and water in the crawlspace caused mold to thrive. The mold is a threat to his home's structural integrity. System design specialist John S. designed a solution to keep the crawlspace dry and mold free.

Foreman Josh B. and his team installed the CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier, so it prevents water from entering the basement. In addition to CleanSpace, the SaniDry energy efficient dehumidifier was installed. SaniDry keeps the humidity levels in the crawlspace low enough to prevent mold growth.

Rodney is thrilled to know his home is safe and healthy again. With these solutions, he is free of mold concerns.

Foundation Walls Stabilized and Waterproofed in Neoga, IL

Chad and Amy C. of Neoga, IL had cracks along their foundation walls. The cracks would leak, staining the walls and damaging the wood framing that was along the walls. They’d tried patching the cracks before but more cracks would form so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the foundation walls and recommended a wall support system.

Along the cracked walls, Woods installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract external pressure on the walls by driving galvanized steel anchor rods through the walls and connecting them to earth anchors embedded in stable soil in the yard. Wall plates are connected to the rods on the inside of the walls and the rods are tightened to permanently stabilize the walls in place.

In areas where the yard was inaccessible, PowerBraces were installed. PowerBraces are steel beams that are fitted against the walls and held firmly in place by steel brackets attached to the concrete floors and floor joists above. They are adjustable so they offer the opportunity to improve the walls over time by tightening them during dry periods.

Over the stained, cracked walls, Woods installed CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a durable, thick plastic vapor barrier that prevents moisture from entering the basement and directs it to the drainage system.  WaterGuard was installed under the concrete floors, along the wall. It’s a drainage system that will remain free from mud as it drains away water collected from the foundation walls and floors to the sump pump that Chad and Amy already had in place.

Chad and Amy C. have peace of mind that there walls are safe and secure and won’t be damaged any further.

Basement Waterproofed in Marion, IL

Corey K. of Marion, IL had a partially finished basement that had water leaking in each time it rained. His painted foundation floors had become stained from water seeping in and he was worried that his finished walls would become even more damaged if he left the problem unchecked so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Chris A. inspected the basement and recommended a basement waterproofing system.

Woods installed WaterGuard under the concrete floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is a drainage system that collects water seeping in through foundation walls and wall joints and drains it away to the sump pump.

The Twin Pack sump system was installed to collect water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through the discharge lines. The Twin Pack contains two powerful, cast-iron pumps to keep the basement dry even in heavy downpours. On the exterior of the homes, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. IceGuards prevent water from backing up into the basement if the lines become frozen by allowing it to escape through its slotted openings into the yard.

Corey K. has peace of mind that even when the forecast called for severe weather, his basement will remain dry.

CleanSpace Crawlspace Encapsulation and SaniDry in Danville, Illinois

James M. of Danville, Illinois was distruaght by his musty, moldy crawlspace. Water pooled in his crawlspace and created a breeding ground for mold and other allergens. System Design Specialist Kevin E. designed a solution to ensure James' crawlspace will stay dry and free of mold.

Foreman Josh B. and his team installed the CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that prevents water from entering the crawlspace. Because it is inorganic, it does not support mold growth. The CleanSpace encapsulation system guides water to the TripleSafe sump pump system to ensure the crawlspace stays dry. Additionally,SaniDry was installed. SaniDry is an energy efficient dehumidifier, so it does hike up energy bills. Keeping the humidity low will keep mold and dust mites away.

James is thrilled to have a dry, clean crawlspace free of mold and allergens. His home is now healthy, and he will no longer have to worry about water beneath his home.

Waterproofing System Installed in St. Peters, MO

Penny B. of St. Peters, MO had started finishing her basement but a heavy downpour had caused water to seep in and put her plans on hold. She spent hours cleaning and drying out her basement using a store bought dehumidifier. She was worried about what sort of damage would be caused if she finished the basement without doing anything about the water problem so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist inspected her basement and recommended a waterproofing system.

Woods installed WaterGuard under the cement floors around the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is a drainage system that sits on top of the footing of the home to keep it from being clogged by mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to pump the intruding water out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains a primary, secondary and battery back up pump to keep the basement protected from encroaching water, even in severe weather or power outages.

On the exterior of the home, Woods installed IceGuards on the discharge lines. The IceGuards feature slotted openings that allows water to escape to the yard if the lines become frozen so it won’t get back into the basement.

Woods also installed the SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry is as energy efficient as the small, store bought dehumidifier Penny had but it removes much more moisture from the basement air, up to 109 pints in a day. It keeps the relative humidity low in the basement and make the environment less hospitable for mold growth.

Now Penny doesn’t have to worry about water damage or mold growth as she finishes her basement.

Crawlspace Encapsulated in Troy, IL

Jill R. had just bought a home in Troy, IL that had a damp crawlspace. The wet crawlspace provided a perfect environment to foster mold growth. The exposed dirt floors turned to mud in a downpour which made the space unusable for storage. Water from the crawlspace also had a tendency to seep into the basement through the crawlspace opening so Jill called Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate. Design Specialist Jake S. inspected the crawlspace and determined a crawlspace encapsulation system would be the best solution.

Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawlspace. CleanSpace is a thick and durable plastic moisture barrier that is resistant to mold growth. It prevents moisture from entering into the crawlspace. It’s bright white appearance also maximizes the available light in the crawlspace and gives it a much cleaner appearance.

Under the CleanSpace, Woods installed drainage matting. Drainage matting has a dimpled design which provides channels for moisture entering the crawlspace to disperse.

Within the encapsulated crawlspace, Woods installed the SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry is as energy efficient as small store-bought dehumidifiers but is far more effective at removing water from the crawlspace air: up to 109 pints per day. It keeps relative humidity low to prevent mold growth and musty smells in the crawlspace.

Jill R. is happy that she can now use the crawlspace in her new home for storage and that she doesn’t have to worry about water getting into her basement from her crawlspace.

CleanSpace, SaniDry and Dr. Energy Saver Renew Patton, Missouri Crawlspace

Jerad M. of Patton, Missouri was concerned when he found mold overtaking his crawlspace. The wet crawlspace was a breeding ground for mold and other allergens. In addition to being riddled with allergens, his crawlspace was not properly sealed and raised his energy costs. System design specialist Peter N. designed a solution to restore Jerad's crawlspace.

Foreman Josh B. and his team installed the CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that prevents water from entering the crawlspace. Because it is inorganic, it does not support mold growth. To further prevent mold, the SaniDry dehumidifier was installed. SaniDry is energy efficient, so it does not hike energy costs as it lowers the relative humidity.

To make Jerad's home more enery-efficient, Josh and his ream also installed an energy saving package from Dr. Energy Saver. With this, the crawlspace is sealed, so air does not leak or escape. This system creates a more comfortable home and lowers energy bills.

Jerad is pleased to know is crawlspace is free of mold and his home is energy-efficient.

Commercial Basement Waterproofed in Saint Louis, MO

Suzanne S. owned a commercial property in Saint Louis, MO that had a very leaky basement. The amount of water getting in through the stone foundation walls and wall joints flooded the basement regularly and made it completely unusable. There was a sump pump in the basement but it was no longer working and the store bought dehumidifier was no match for the high relative humidity in the basement so Suzanne called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Ryan K. assessed the basement and recommended replacing the old pump and installing a basement waterproofing system.

Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. Unlike other drainage systems that are installed along the footing of the home or on the exterior of the foundation and are notorious for clogging, WaterGuard is situated on top of the footing so it’s out of the way of mud that might clog it. It collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

Woods replaced the old sump pump with the Twin Pack. The Twin Pack consists of two powerful cast iron pumps that eject water out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The Twin Pack provides two layers of protection against severe weather that would otherwise flood this basement.

IceGuards were installed on the exterior of the building on the discharge lines. IceGuards have slotted openings that allow water to escape into the yard if the lines become frozen or clogged so it won’t get back into the basement.

To deal with the high relative humidity in the basement, Woods replaced the store bought dehumidifier with the SaniDry. The SaniDry is as energy efficient as much smaller units but much more powerful. It can remove up to 109 pints of water from basement air a day. It keeps the relative humidity low in the basement to prevent musty smells and mold growth.

WaterGuard, SaniDry and CleanSpace in Fredericktown, Missouri

Fredericktown, Missouri resident Myra L. has both a crawlspace and basement beneath her home. Unfortunately, both were wet and musty. The wet environment caused mold and allergens to take over the crawlspace and basement. System design specialist Jake S. designed a solution to renew the space beneath her home.

To waterproof the basement, foreman Greg H. installed WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard is installed below the floor and is designed to collect and guide water to the TwinPack sump pump system. In addition to WaterGuard and TwinPack, IceGuard was installed. IceGuard provides an exit for water in the event that the discharge lines become frozen or clogged.

For the crawlspace, Greg and his team installed the CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that prevents water from entering the crawlspace. Because it is inorganic, it does not support mold growth. To further prevent mold growth, SaniDry was installed. SaniDry is an energy-efficient dehumidifier.

Myra is pleased that her crawlspace and basement are now dry and mold free.

CleanSpace and SaniDry Installed in Highland, Illinois

Both mold and dust mites are allergens. To keep his crawlspace dry and his family healthy, system design specialist Brenton K. designed a solution.

Foreman James L. installed the CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier, so it does not support mold growth. In addition to CleanSpace, SaniDry was installed. SaniDry is an energy efficient dehumidifier, so it prevents mold without hiking energy costs.

Jason is pleased to have CleanSpace and SaniDry in his crawlspace. With these systems, his crawlpsace will stay dry and mold-free, and his home will stay healthy.

Walls Permanently Stabilized and Basement Waterproofed in Mulkeytown, IL

Frank V. of Mulkeytown, IL had bowing foundation and ledge walls. Cracks had formed along the walls where the bowing was the worst. His basement was also leaking water and the cracks had allowed even more water to get in so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Jeremy K. thoroughly inspected the basement and found that the best solution would be wall support and waterproofing systems.

Woods installed Geo-Lock Anchors along the bowing, cracked walls. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors permanently stabilize foundation walls by counteracting external soil pressure. To do this, earth anchors embedded in more stable soil conditions away from the foundation are connected to steel wall plates on the inside of the walls using galvanized steel anchor rods. The anchors can also be tightened during dry periods to straighten and improve walls over time.

In an area of the wall where the yard wasn’t accessible for Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, a PowerBrace was installed. The PowerBrace is an adjustable zinc-plated steel beam that is fit tightly against the wall and secured in place by steel brackets attached to the concrete floor and floor joists. They prevent future damage to the wall and, like the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors, improve the walls by adjusting the beam during dry periods.

Drainage matting was installed on top of the ledge walls to give water channels to go over the ledge and down to the drainage system. Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation and ledge walls. CleanSpace is a thick plastic moisture barrier. It prevents moisture from entering the basement and guides it down to the drainage system. It also gives the basement a much brighter, cleaner appearance.

WaterGuard was installed under the cement floors of the basement. Its a drainage system sits out of the way of mud that might clog it as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to take the water collected by the WaterGuard and eject it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe consists of three pumps, including a battery back up pump, to keep the basement dry even when severe weather hits or there’s a power outage. IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. The IceGuards slotted openings prevent water from getting back into the home in the event that the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed, as well. The SaniDry is energy efficient but powerful; it can remove 109 pints of water a day from basement air while using the same amount of electricity as a regular household dehumidifier. By keeping the relative humidity low, the SaniDry helps prevent conditions that foster mold growth as well as musty smells.

Frank V. is relieved now that his foundation walls are safe and secure and his basement will remain dry even in heavy downpours.

Partially Finished Basement Waterproofed in Saint Charles, MO

Tom L. of Saint Charles, MO had cracks in his foundation walls. The cracked stretched across the walls and had allowed an alarming about of water to get into his partially finished basement so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Adam R. assessed the basement and recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors as well as a basement waterproofing system.

Woods installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchors by driving galvanized steel anchor rods through the cracked foundation walls and attaching them to steel earth anchors embedded in stable soil conditions in the yard. Steel wall plates are connected to the anchor rods on the inside of the wall and the components are tightened to permanently stabilize the walls in place and prevent future damage.

The WaterGuard drainage system was installed under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. Other drainage systems are installed along the footing of the home or on the exterior of the foundation and are notorious for becoming clogged by mud and debris. WaterGuard is installed on top of the concrete footing to prevent it from clogging as it collects encroaching water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

The Twin Pack was installed to accept the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The Twin Pack contains a primary and secondary pump so it can keep the basement dry in light drizzles and heavy downpours.

On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. If the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months, IceGuards have slotted openings to give water an alternative escape route into the yard so it doesn’t come back into the basement.

Tom L. has piece of the mind now because his foundation walls are safe and secure and his partially basement will remain dry.

Basement Waterproofing System Keeps Basement Dry in Florissant, MO

John O. of Florissant, MO thought he’d dealt with the water problem in his basement but he was still getting leaks. He had a sump pump but it was no longer working and left his basement unprotected. He also had a small store-bought dehumidifier that was no match for the high humidity in the basement. John was tired of dealing with his water problem so he called Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate. Design Specialist Adam R. inspected the basement and recommended a new basement waterproofing system.

Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. Other drainage systems are notorious for clogging because they are installed along the concrete footing or on the exterior of the foundation. WaterGuard is an interior drainage system that is situated on top of the footing so it will remain free of mud that might clog it as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

Woods replaced the old, burnt out sump pump with the TripleSafe to expel the water collected by the WaterGuard safely out and away from the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump so it can offer protection from weather ranging from light showers to severe thunderstorms that cause power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. They prevent water from getting back into the basement if the lines become frozen by giving the water and alternative escape route through its slotted openings.

Woods replaced the small store-bought dehumidifier with the SaniDry dehumidifier. The SaniDry uses as much energy as the smaller store-bought unit but is far more powerful. It can remove up to 109 pints of water from basement air in a day. It keeps the relative humidity low in the basement to reduce musty smells and make conditions inhospitable for mold growth.

John O. is relieved that his water problem is now a thing of the past and his basement will stay dry when the weather forecast is calling for rain.

Finished Basement Waterproofed in Troy, IL

Shirley and Warren T. had a cozy finished basement. Unfortunately, they hadn’t waterproofed before they finished their basement and heavy downpours caused hidden leaks behind the finished walls. Their carpets were soaked and stained, taking hours to dry out. The wood paneling on the bottom half of their finished walls was irreparably water damaged so they called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Chris T. inspected the basement and found the best solution would be a waterproofing system.

Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard sits on top of the concrete footing of the home, unlike other drainage systems that are notorious for clogging. It will remain free of mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and draining it away to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to accept the water from the WaterGuard and pump it out and away from the basement. The TripleSafe contains a primary, a secondary and a battery back up pump which will protect the basement from even severe weather and power outages.

On the exterior of the home, IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines. IceGuards are designed with slotted openings that allow water to escape into the yard in the event that the discharge lines become frozen during cold winter months. This prevents the water being pumped out of the basement from getting back in.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed, as well. The SaniDry is an energy efficient but powerful dehumidifier that can remove up to 109 pints of the water from basement air per day. It keeps the relative humidity low to prevent mold growth and musty smells.

Shirley and Warren T. are thrilled that they can enjoy their cozy finished basement again without worries of water damage because their basement will stay dry.

Partially Finished Basement Waterproofed in Creal Springs, IL

The partially finished basement in Brady C.’s Creal Springs, IL home leaked with each rain. The wood paneling on his walls was ruined and the small store-bought dehumidifier he had in his basement was ineffective at preventing musty smells. He also had leaky windows so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Jake S. assessed the basement and recommended a basement waterproofing system.

Woods replaced the leaky basement windows with EverLast windows. EverLast windows are made of double paned insulated glass in reinforced vinyl frames. The frames will never rust or rot. The windows are installed to prevent water or air from escaping from the gaps around the windows and because they are double paned, they prevent major heat loss through the windows.

Over the foundation walls, Woods installed CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is a thick and durable plastic liner that prevents moisture from entering the basement through the basement walls, instead directing it down to the perimeter drainage system. It also gives the basement a much brighter and cleaner appearance.

The WaterGuard drainage system was installed under the cement floors along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is situated on top of the concrete footing to keep it mud-free as it collected water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to take the water collected by the WaterGuard and eject it safely out of the basement through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe contains two powerful cast-iron pumps and a battery back up pump to protect the basement from severe weather and power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards feature slotted openings to prevent water from getting back into the basement if the lines become frozen. They give the water an alternative escape route into the yard.

Woods replaced the store-bought dehumidifier with the SaniDry. The SaniDry dehumidifier is as energy efficient as the smaller unit but it is much more powerful. It can remove up to 109 pints of water from the air per day which keeps relative humidity low. It prevents musty smells and conditions that allow mold to grow.

Brady C. is relieved that his basement is now dry and he no longer has to worry about water damage in the future.

Crawl Space Encapsulated in Philo, IL

Janice E. of Philo, IL had a sump pump installed by another company in her crawl space. She thought that was the end of her water problem but water kept getting into the crawl space during heavy downpours through her foundation walls and made the space unusable. The store-bought dehumidifier she had in her crawl space did little to nothing to keep relative humidity low which had started to cause the floor joists to rot so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Greg B. inspected Janice’s crawl space and found the best solution for the water problem would be an encapsulation system.

Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation walls and gravel floors of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a thick, durable, mold resistant moisture barrier that prevents water from entering the crawl space, instead directing it to the drainage system below.

Drainage matting was installed under the CleanSpace on the gravel floors of the crawl space. Drainage matting has a dimpled design that provides channels for standing water to disperse to the drainage system.

Woods installed the SmartPipe drainage system along the perimeter of the crawl space. SmartPipe has multiple rows of channel holes covered in filter fabric to keep it free from debris as it collects water from the foundation walls and gravel floors of the crawl space and drains it to the sump pump.

Woods replaced the old, non-functioning sump pump with the SmartSump. The SmartSump was designed to form an airtight seal with the CleanSpace. It contains a powerful cast-iron pump that takes the intruding water and expels it out and away from the crawlspace through the discharge line.

On the exterior of the home, an IceGuard was installed on the discharge line. The IceGuard will prevent water from backing up into the home if the discharge line becomes frozen or clogged by snow during winter months. The perforations in the IceGuard gives water an escape route into the yard.

The store-bought dehumidifier was replaced with two SaniDry dehumidifiers. The SaniDrys are as energy efficient as the store-bought unit but are more powerful. Each can remove up to 109 pints of water from crawlspace air per day. They keep the relative humidity low to prevent rot, mold growth and musty smells.

Janice E. is relieved that she no longer has a water problem in her crawl space and she can now use it for storage.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Millstadt, IL

Frances K. of Millstadt, IL had a very wet crawlspace. The crawl space leaked every time it rained so it couldn’t be used for storage or anything else because anything put in the crawl space would be damaged. Drafts from the crawl space made the home harder to cool in the winters as well so Frances called Woods Basement Systems for a free inspected. After assessing the crawl space, Design Specialist Adam R. found the best solution would be a crawl space encapsulation and insulation system.

Woods installed SilverGlo Insulated panels over the foundation walls of the crawl space. SilverGlo is a graphite infused rigid foam insulation that has a higher R-value than other foam insulation panels. It’s also waterproof so it prevents moisture from entering the crawlspace and guides it down to the drainage system.

CleanSpace was installed over the walls and dirt floors of the crawlspace. It is a  mold-resistant, thick, durable plastic liner that prevents water from entering the crawl space from the walls or floors. Drainage matting was installed under the CleanSpace over the floors of the crawl space. Drainage matting is dimpled to prove channels for standing water to disperse to the drainage system.

Woods installed the SmartPipe drainage system along the perimeter of the crawlspace. SmartPipe features several rows of channel holes that are covered with special filter fabric. This keeps it free from debris and mud as it collects water from the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawl space and then drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to accept the water from the SmartPipe and pump it out and away from the crawlspace through its discharge lines. The TripleSafe consists of three pumps, including a battery back up pump, which allows it to handle weather ranging from light sprinkles to severe thunderstorms as well as power outages.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. Water flows straight through IceGuards normally but if the discharge lines become frozen or clogged, water can escape to the yard through the slotted openings in the IceGuards, rather than back up into the crawlspace.

Woods installed the SaniDry dehumidifier in the crawl space. The SaniDry is EnergyStar rated so it’s energy efficient but still powerful. It removes up to 109 pints of water from crawl space air per day which keeps relative humidity low. The SaniDry prevents conditions that foster mold growth and rot.

Frances K. is thrilled that not only can she use her crawl space for storage but her home will be more comfortable in the winter.

Crawl Space Encapsulated in Pacific, MO

Dennis M. of Pacific, MO had a wet crawlspace. Even though he had a plastic liner on the floor of his crawl space, it was flimsy and not secured in any way so it bunched and didn’t stop water from getting in. He also had musty smelled emanating from the crawl space so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Jeremy K. inspected the crawl space and recommended an encapsulation system.

Woods installed CleanSpace over the foundation walls and gravel floors of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a durable, thick plastic vapor barrier that is secured over the walls and floors to seal out moisture and keep the crawl space dry.

Drainage matting was installed under the CleanSpace along the gravel floors. Its dimpled design creates channels to disperse standing water in the crawl space.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed in the crawl space. The SaniDry is an energy efficient but powerful dehumidifier. It removes up to 109 pints of water from the crawl space air each day. The SaniDry keeps relative humidity low in the crawl space which eliminates musty smells and prevents conditions that cause mold and rot.

Dennis M. is thrilled he can finally use his crawl space for storage and no longer has to deal with musty smells.

CleanSpace Encapsulation System Makes Crawl Space Usable in O'Fallon, IL

Michelle O. of O’Fallon, IL had a damp and humid crawl space in her home. The moisture in her crawl space was causing the wooden floor joists above to rot. Metal pipes as well as the floor support system she’d had installed by a different company were rusting due to the high relative humidity. The flimsy plastic liner she had in the crawl space did little to nothing to keep moisture out so she called Woods Basement Systems for a free inspection. After assessing the crawl space, Design Specialist John S. recommended a crawl space encapsulation system.

Over the foundation walls and dirt floors, Woods installed CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a durable plastic moisture barrier that is secured in place to seal out moisture and keep the crawl space dry and usable. It’s mold resistant and its bright white color maximizes available light within the crawl space.

Drainage Matting was installed under the CleanSpace along the dirt floors of the crawl space. Drainage Matting is dimpled to prove channels for moisture from the dirt floors to disperse.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed in the crawl space. The SaniDry dehumidifier is as energy efficient as smaller store-bought units but much more powerful. It can remove up to 109 pints of water from crawl space air in a day. It keeps relative humidity low to prevent the conditions that cause rot, rust and mold.

Michelle O. has peace of mind that her crawl space will remain dry and that she can safely use it for storage.

Waterproofing System Installed in Partially Finished Basement in Belleville, IL

Virginia H. had dealt with leaks in the partially finished basement of her Belleville, IL home for years but one particularly bad rain had caused an alarming amount of water to get into her basement. Water had damaged her finished walls and stained the foundation walls and floors, making them an eyesore. Virginia was done dealing with the messes that came with rain so she called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the basement and recommended installing a waterproofing system.

Woods installed the WaterGuard drainage system under the cement floors along the foundation walls of the basement. WaterGuard is situated on top of the concrete footing of the home so it won’t be clogged by silt and plant roots as it collects water from the foundation walls and floors and drains it to the sump pump.

The TripleSafe was installed to accept the water collected by the WaterGuard and expel it out and away from the basement. It contains three pumps, including a battery back up pump, that can keep the basement dry in weather ranging from light drizzles to torrential downpours as well as in a power outage.

Woods installed IceGuards on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. IceGuards have perforations that allow water to escape into the yard if the lines become frozen so it doesn’t back up into the basement.

Virginia has peace of mind that she won’t be dealing with any more messes when the forecast calls for rainy weather because her basement will stay dry.

Damp, Humid Crawl Space Encapsulated in Chatham, IL

Amy B. of Chatham, IL had a damp crawl space. The flimsy plastic liner she had in there bunched and did nothing to keep moisture out. Design Specialist Kevin E. inspected the crawl space and recommended an encapsulation system.

Woods secured CleanSpace over the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a durable, thick plastic moisture barrier. It prevents moisture from entering into the crawl space through the walls or floors. It’s mold resistant and its bright white color maximizes the amount of available light within the crawl space.

Under the CleanSpace, Woods installed Drainage Matting along the dirt floor of the crawl space. Drainage Matting has a dimpled design that gives channels for any water that might seep into the crawl space to disperse.

The SmartDrain was also installed in the crawl space. It’s lid forms an airtight, seamless seal with the CleanSpace. The SmartDrain is designed for encapsulated crawl spaces to prevent the space from filling with water if there is a plumbing leak and collect water from groundwater problems beneath the liner. Water is directed towards the special ball-and-cup drain to be drained to a bed of gravel below where it will flow into a dry well and seep into the soil below. The WaterWatch alarm in the lid of the SmartDrain alerts the owner to a plumbing leak so it can be taken care of before it turns into a major problem.

The SaniDry dehumidifier was installed in the crawl space to keep the relative humidity low. It’s energy efficient but powerful, removing up to 109 pints of water per day from crawl space air. It prevents musty smells and the conditions that cause mold growth and rot.

Design Specialist Adam R. inspected the crawl space and recommended an encapsulation system with new pump and dehumidifier.

Woods installed CleanSpace securely over the foundation walls and floors of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a thick, durable plastic moisture barrier. It’s mold resistant and prevents water from entering the crawl space, instead directing it down to the perimeter drainage system.

Drainage Matting was installed along the dirt floors under the CleanSpace. Drainage matting has a dimpled design that gives standing water under the encapsulation system channels to disperse to the drainage system.

The SmartPipe drainage system was installed along the perimeter of the crawl space. SmartPipe has multiple rows of channel holes covered in filter fabric to prevent it from being clogged by mud and debris as it collected water from the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawl space and drains it to the sump pump.

Woods replaced the old, non-functional sump pump with the SmartSump. The SmartSump expels the water collected by the SmartPipe safely out and away from the crawl space through its discharge line. It contains a powerful cast-iron pump within its sump liner that was designed to form an airtight seal with the CleanSpace moisture barrier.

The old dehumidifier was replaced by the SaniDry dehumidifier. The old dehumidifier was only able to remove up to 32 pints of water from the air per day. The SaniDry is much more powerful while remaining energy efficient and can remove up to 109 pints of water from the crawl space air each day. It keeps relative humidity low to prevent musty smells and the conditions that cause rot and mold growth.

IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. They feature perforations that allow water to escape into the yard if the lines become frozen so it won’t back up into the basement.

Vent Covers are gasketed covers for the crawl space vents. They keep the weather and air out of the space reducing the relative humidity, keeping the temperature consistent, and keeps pest out.

CleanSpace is an inorganic anti-microbial vapor barrier that seals the crawl space in. This will reduce allergens in the air, increasing the air quality and smell. It also provides energy savings because dry air is cheaper to heat and cool.

TerraBlock under the CleanSpace is a great way to insulate the floor of a gravel crawl space. It adds to the value of the encapsulation by increasing energy savings. It is lined with a vapor barrier and thicker than CleanSpace so it cannot be punctured and makes a softer surface for you and service professional who need to be in the space.

Drainage matting is that extra layer of protection from moisture seeping in through the floor. It gives the water vapor that enters through the ground a path to follow to the sump pump to leave the crawl space.

SilverGlo insulation goes on the walls for added R-Value insulation. The tiny graphite particles reflect the cool or warm air back into the space doubling the efficiency.

A SaniDry Sedona is the perfect finishing element. It can filter 120 pints of liquid from the air in using the same electricity as a 40-pint unit. It is the only Energy Star rated dehumidifier. At 60 pounds it is easy to move around in the crawl space and is self-draining. It filters the air to remove dust mite droppings and other allergens as well.
