Lisa G. of O’Fallon, MO had an alarming amount of water coming into her finished basement. It was damaging her finished walls, especially under her leaky window (as seen in the picture), and destroying her carpet so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing a basement waterproofing system.
Woods installed a well duct along the wall under the window as part of the waterproofing system. A well duct is a channel that guides water from the leaky window directly to the WaterGuard drainage system below for removal.
The finished basement of Lisa G.’s O’Fallon, MO was repeatedly being damaged by water getting in. Her finished walls and carpeted floors were ruined. She had a waterproofing system in place but it didn’t extend to the area that was leaking and the sump pump had stopped working so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended extending the waterproofing system and replacing the sump pump.
As part of the waterproofing system, Woods installed WaterGuard under the concrete floors along the foundation wall, extending the waterproofing system to the area that was leaking. WaterGuard is a drainage system that collects water from the foundation walls and floors to the sump pump for removal. It sits on top of the concrete footing of the home so it’s won’t become clogged by mud.
Lisa G. had water leaking into her finished basement and damaging her finished walls and carpeted floors. She had a waterproofing system in place but it didn’t extend to the area that was leaking and the old sump pump had stopped working so she called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended extending the waterproofing system and replacing the sump pump.
As shown in the picture, Woods replaced the old, nonfunctioning sump pump with a Twin Pack. The Twin Pack contains two powerful, cast-iron pumps in an air-tight sealed sump liner that prevents water from evaporating back into the basement air and making it more humid. The Twin Pack will keep the basement dry, even in severe weather.
Jess and Garret were concerned when they noticed that their basement walls were beginning to bow. So, they decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Thomas W was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Foreman Jeremy R Installed a PowerBrace in Jess and Garret’s basement. A PowerBrace is a system of metal beams that will attach to the walls and keep them form bowing any further than they already have. The device will also work to straighten the walls.
Terry of O'Fallon, Missouri had large vertical and horizontal cracks on his basement walls along with a side of the house sliding off the foundation about three to four inches. With these being signs of a settling foundation, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. Systems design specialist, Timothy W. was able to find a solution and recommended Geo-Lock wall anchors to be installed.
Foreman, Jeremy R. installed the wall anchors. Geo-Lock wall anchors are made of galvanized steel and are connected by rods. They are embedded into the stable soil away from the home and can be tighten during dry seasons. The anchors are used to permanently stabilize foundation walls and can, in most cases, pull walls back into their original position.
So, now Terry P. can rest easy knowing he has a stable foundation.
