A foundation was becoming unstable in Lincoln, IL, as horizontal cracks were appearing. To solve this issue, the GeoLock Wall Anchor System was installed. These are galvanized steel earth anchors embedded into the soil out and away from the foundation wall. Once installed, these will hold the walls in their current position and can be tightened to allow for improvement and straightening of the wall over time. These can be installed around obstacles on the wall such as pipes, sinks, or furniture. This is the best solution to straighten the wall over time, as it can fix severe problems and stabilize the foundation for good!

This crawl space in Anna, IL rests on a stone foundation.  Failed remnants of a thin vapor barrier could be seen before the project began.  With nothing isolating the home from the damp earth below, groundwater seepage and humidity turned the crawl space into a swamp.  Woods Basement Systems installed CleanSpace—a strong and durable vapor barrier—to seal off the dirt floor and encapsulate the crawl space, and we installed a SmartSump sump pump system to tackle the groundwater problem.
