Replacing a Faulty Sump Pump in Olney, IL

A sump pump was no longer functioning properly in Olney, IL, so it was replaced with a TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This system assures protection from everyday problems with an ordinary pump. The TripleSafe can handle a heavy flow of water, thanks to a secondary pump included inside that will help eliminate the water if the first pump is unable to keep up with the amount of water that is entering it. It also features a removable airtight lid which reduces noise, prevents objects from falling in, and keeps moisture, insects, and odor from coming out of the sump. This system also includes an UltraSump battery backup system which turns on if the power goes out and effectively pumps out the water.

Additionally, a TimeMachine Data Logger was installed on the pump. This system takes the guesswork out of sump pump maintenance. It will record and report up to ten years of data like battery status, power outages, relative humidity, and temperature history, and connects to a smartphone app via Bluetooth to make it easy to review a date range of usage history. This will make it easier to spot potential problems early to help avoid water damage. This basement will now stay dry all the time thanks to these systems!

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors Installed in Urbana, IL Home

Urbana, Illinois homeowner Becky was concerned about hte horizontal cracks in her basement walls. She gave Woods Basement Systems a call and System Design Specialist Greg B. determined the perfect solution.

Foreman Kevin J. and his crew installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to fix Becky's walls. The Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were the perfect choice because they can return the wall to its original position. This will close the crakcs and prevent furture ones from forming.

The cracks are caused by the pressure of the active soil and water around the house wanting to fill the hole that is the basement. The walls give in overtime causing bowing and leading to cracks and gaps.

Geo-Lock Wall Anchors fight against this by using the Earth behind the active soil line. A steel plate is buried in the ground and a steel rod is drilled through an interior anchor, the foundation wall, and into the soil until it is attached in the anchor plate.

Becky can now enjoy her basement knowing it will be stable for decades to come.
