Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Waterproofing and Wall Anchors in Girard, Illinois
Shawn P. of Girard, Illinois discovered water leaking into his basement through a crack in the wall. System Design Specialist Brenton K. visited Shawn’s home and inspected the basement. Upon inspection, he determined the wall crack was a result of a bowing wall. High hydrostatic pressure in the soil can cause walls to bow inward over time. Brenton designed a solution to support the wall and waterproof the basement.
Kevin J., Foreman, and his crew visited the home to restore the basement wall. They installed Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. These anchors are made of galvanized steel and are driven into undisturbed soil to ensure a permanent solution. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors provide support for the foundation wall and work to return the wall to its original position.
The next day, Foreman Jeremy R. and his crew visited the home to install the waterproofing system. First, they installed WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard collects and guides water to the TwinPack sump pump system. Jeremy and his team also installed CleanSpace. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that works with the waterproofing system. It guides water that may leak through crack to the WaterGuard. Lastly, the crew installed IceGuard. IceGuard provides an exit for water in the event that the exterior discharge lines become frozen.
With these solutions, Shawn can have peace of mind knowing his foundation wall is supported and his basement is dry.

First, the crew jackhammers the concrete floor along the perimeter of the basement.
Next, the crew installs the WaterGuard perimeter drainage system.
The crew finishes the install with sealing the floor with concrete. Once dry, it will be unnoticeable.
To install Geo-Lock the crew must excavate in undisturbed soil. This photo is of the plate that will be installed in the ground.
Here, you can see the finished Geo-Lock Wall Anchors from inside the basement. These anchors secure the basement wall.
