Lafayette Prep Academy Waterproofing in Saint Louis, MO
Challenge
Lafayette Preparatory Academy, a free, public, charter school located in Lafayette Square in Saint Louis, MO, had water leaking in the lunchroom. When left unattended, water causes a plethora of issues, some visible and some not. Water damage results in built-up mold and humid air. Students are constantly using the lunchroom and breathing in that humid air, which can worsen allergies. Once the school staff noticed the water, they reached out to Woods Basement Systems. Fortunately for them, we have top of the line waterproofing systems that will keep the lunchroom safe for the students and staff!
Solution
We sent out our experts and they got right to work. First, they installed our WaterGuard™ System. This works by digging along the interior perimeter and laying pipes that collect water leakage from the walls. Unlike other systems, we place the pipes within the floor and above the soil to prevent clogging. The pipes direct the water to the nearby sump pump. Our TripleSafe™ Sump Pump is truly one of a kind. With multiple pumps, it ensures the maximum amount of water is removed. An additional UltraSump™ Battery kicks on in the event of a power outage. For an added layer of protection, the team installed our CleanSpace™ Vapor Wall Barrier. This protects the walls, controlling the moisture and keeping pests out. An antimicrobial agent, UltraFresh™, is within the barrier, preventing bacteria and mold growth.
With these waterproofing systems in place, the lunchroom will stay dry for years to come! Lafayette Preparatory Academy can return its focus to educating the students and leave the unpleasant business to Woods.
