Basement Waterproofing - Sump Pump Failure

Sump pumps are mechanical and require a power source to operate. In this case, the existing sump pump system just wasn't powerful enough to keep up with the amount of water leaking in. In addition mechanical failure, the existing system did not include a battery backup to protect the basement in case of power outages.
