Finished Basement
This Washington, Missouri basement was finished but not waterproofed. Trouble arose once the homeowner noticed water stains on the carpet.
Water Damaged Walls
The most common area to find water leaks is where the floor meets the walls. This section of the foundation usually is slightly separated which allows water an accessible entrance inside.
Move Carpet
The first step to waterproof this basement was to make room for the WaterGuard drainage system. The team first had to move the carpet to install the system around the perimeter of the room.
WaterGuards Installed
Here the WaterGuard drains have been freshly installed. The drainage system is then sealed with a cement layer to protect the system from clogging.
Wall Insulation
WaterGuard drains are installed in the footing of the basement walls, so the team of installers had to uplift the lower section of the wall to make room for the drainage system.
Sump Pump
Along with the freshly installed WaterGuard drains, a sump pump was also installed to pump out pesky water leaks. A sump pump system would ensure that the water that is collected by the WaterGuard drains would be pumped outside.
