Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Completing the Drainage System
Jennifer S. from Manchester, MO already had a good sump pump in her basement. But even good pumps wouldn't be able to keep a basement dry if the pipes they use to pump the water out can't keep up.
To take her basement from safe to TripleSafe™ Dave P. installed the pieces that Jennifer was missing. The first step was to replace the old sump pit with the TripleSafe™ sump liner, which allows the pumps to sit more comfortably in the pit and clear the water more efficiently.
Next, Dave made sure there was a second drainage pipe so that when multiple pumps were working, multiple pipes could keep up with the water being expelled.
On the journey outside, the water will pass by the incredible IceGuard™, which can keep water flowing outside even if the other end of the pipe is frozen or clogged.
Finally, the water gets drained through a burried pipe to the city drains. With the burried pipes there is no unsightly pipes running across the yard, and a simple cap at the end can keep the pipe clear of debris so that it does not clog.
Now the good pump Jennifer S. had can continue to keep her basement dry with the support of the pieces her system was missing.
The Original Pump System
Jennifer S. has a good pump, but all the water it can pump gets limited by the single pipe it has to go through.
The New System
With a new sump liner and an extra pipe, Jennifer's pump can dry her basement more efficiently.
IceGuard™ on the Outside
Even an extra pipe won't do any good if the outlet is blocked by debris or ice. The IceGuard™ attachment will make sure that water will continue to drain even if that happens.
The Outlet
The final part of the system, water will drain out from this hidden pipe and into the city's drain system.
