Sub-Floor Drainage
The first component of the basement waterproofing system installed by our team is the sub-floor drainage system. The dark strip of flooring along the perimeter basement walls marks the location of the drains, which are installed beneath the floor. These sub-floor drains capture water seepage and groundwater intrusion before it can spread across the basement, directing it efficiently to the sump pump for the next stage of the waterproofing process.
Sump Pump System
The next step of the waterproofing process is the extraction of water from the sub-floor drains to the outside. The sump pump system seen in this image does just that. This image also shows it with the batter back up system that was installed alongside the sump pump so that in any kind of power outage, the battery will kick in for power usage and ensure waterproofing is still occurring.
Protection Against Cold Weather
The two white tubes coming out of the side of house are the exterior discharge lines that are connected to the sump pump down in the basement. The lines are engineered with a freeze proof design which ensures even in extreme cold weather, water is being pumped out of the basement.
Final Step in Water Drainage
The discharge lines carry collected water out of the basement and direct it to the green drain shown in the image. This drain is strategically placed at a safe distance from the home, ensuring water is discharged far away from the basement foundation.
